No worries, Wale and Efra! We understand. SME has been blocking people left and right, they even blocked the actual OFFICIAL VISUALIZER VIDEO a few hours it was released. 😅 It literally disappeared from YT lol
Thank you for this RV. I can't wait to see your reaction to their latest live performance of nyebe. It was during a presscon. This song is really so good.
Pablo says he wrote this in the middle of the pandemic around Christmas when it should have been festive but people were losing loved ones left and right. He said he wrote this for people who feel like they have nothing to thank God for, in order to give them hope and comfort.
NYEBE by SB19 (English Translation) Why hadn't I noticed its touch upon my face A cold heavier than my burden Though it's coming, what they're anticipating That which used to stir my heart, now frozen Don't know what else to do Just content to know we're still breathing After all that I've been through Just don't know how else to be happy Though we're apart, you're all of my prayer Fear will vanish, and this I promise I am here. I know this isn't possible But why does the snow fall? My arms are freezing, yearning for your voice To kiss you I hope won't be impossible Ah the snow...snow..snow It's cold, but never mind Snow.. snow.. snow Long as you're always there These arms be freezing While my chest's a-thumping But just to hear your voice Will melt all of the snow away Spent all my hours on frivolous things Forgetting time has taken wing And if I could fly, let my wings be broke If only to stop the time and keep me here I know this isn't possible But why does it fall? Why does it keep on falling? Ah, the snow...snow..snow I know this isn't possible But why does the snow fall? These arms be freezing Yearning for your voice To kiss you I hope is possible Ah the snow.. snow.. snow It's cold but never mind Snow.. snow.. snow.. Long as you're always there These arms be freezing While my chest's a-thumping But just to hear your voice Will melt away all Melt away all Melt away all of this Snow
"Snowflakes" are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together[MAHALIMA]. As for me ,NYEBE is a song for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire. It is the time for home. What a good song SB19!! THANK you for reacting NYEBE! #Nyebe #SB19
I think Nyebe/snow here is used to describe someone's longingness and hopelessness for someone/something. A hyperbole if my english is right. The line "Alam ko na hindi eto possible, pero bakit bumubuhos ang nyebe" literally translates to "I know it's impossible but why is snow falling heavily", snow is impossible in the Philippines being tropical however the feeling of loneliness and uncertainty the author is feeling is drowning and as cold as snow. Pablo's poetry translating to his music is unmatched. Such a genius.
Pablo use NYEBE as a metaphor for hardships, loneliness, emptiness, tears, longingnes, uncertainties and hopelessness. "Matutunaw din ang Nyebe" means "Everything will be okay in time" so Efra is right 💙
Thank you for emphasizing Nyebe's unique arrangements, definitely not an ordinary OPM ballad, its more like inspired by gospel arrangement, Pablo's a genius.
This is one of my favorites songs from #SB19 it talks about the loneliness , hopelessness then hope and redemption. Like a light in the end of the tunnel when you've come to a dead end.
My favorite part is Alam ko na hindi ito possible, Pero bakit bumubuhos ang Nyebe?. Eng: I know it's impossible, but why is it snowing? Note: In the Philippines, it never snows. Nyebe in this song means loneliness and all the heavy feelings we have. They are assuring us that someday it will melt away 🥰💙
Nyebe is snow like what Waleska said. Though in spanish is nieve ...same pronunciation in Tagalog or Filipino. This sounds like a gospel song, its a song about loneliness and despair of longing for loved ones, of friends and families. Of being far from them. I can relate to this being in Australia and my family is in the Philippines. Made me cry a river first time i heard this song in their online concert last year. SB19's songs can really hit you hard and at the same time giving you some relief and comfort.
This song represents a lot of feelings but in the end the word matutunaw din Lahat ng nyebe means all our longings, hopelessness, burdens will pass away or melt away and also it shows that this song not written not just for us to cry but to comfort people who can listen to this just understand the lyrics itself though the singing makes or shows a lot of emotion but when you go deeper through the lyrics it can also comfort you... thank you for reacting they're new single we appreciate your efforts God bless to both of you ♥️♥️ #nyebe#sb19forever
YAY!!! So glad to know that! I thought they Sony pulled it out yday bec they wanted to put ENG CC first.lol So glad that non-Filipino speakers can finally understand the lyrics behind this beautiful song made by Pablo's exceptionally brilliant mind!
It's a wonderfully made visualizer. Though there's literally no snow in the whole MV, but the feelings potrayed in the song is as cold as it can be. Btw, MAPA is from the POV of from the child and NYEBE is from the POV of the OFW (overseas Filipino worker) parent who's longing for his child/loved ones. Pablo wrote this song during the height of the pandemic where many OFW parents where uncertain if they could still have the opportunity to see their families. Painful but at the same time comforting song.
Nyebe (snow) correlates to the feeling of coldness that loneliness brings, the feeling of depression, that is why there is no snow on the visualizer, it is likened to the chill of loneliness gives.
I have never cried so much. hearing this song over and over just makes me stop in the middle of the track and take a breather. This is a masterpiece. after MAPA this song is one of those where I have to pause. Masterpiece!
Finally!! 🥰🙌 The fact you really react and explained the vocals of the boyssss really love it. Thank you for always reacting the boys performance 🥰🥰🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
They already added the english subtitles for this.:) Btw, this can be a healing/comfort song to one, and a very sad song that slaps to another. Depending on what state of feeling you are at the moment, this song will definitely hit you in the heart. According to Pablo, it's a song for longingness, hopelessness, anxiety brought about by being fearful, uncertain, or even losing or missing someone in your life,... the feeling of you vs the world, the isolation (initially he also connected this to what we have been during the pandemic, where even the basic things like meet ups were prohibited). The lyrics "matutunaw din lahat ng nyebe" with direct translation "the snow will eventually melt", means all our worries, fears, anxiety will eventually pass. Them throughout on their own, alone, then being brought back together at the end scene, lovely smiling and jumping is a representation that the snow, the coldness, have melted. If you were to ask me what's my fave out of those random scenes? It's the running faucet at the 1st chorus. That one representing how some of us lock ourselves in the bathroom and run the faucet to hide our cries. Hit me so hard. TLDR; what I really just meant to say is that Pablo is a genius.
I was waiting for your review to Nyebe! Thank you so much for releasing this despite the blockings. This made my night (day? dawn? it's 4:49 AM hehe) 💙💙 Looking forward to your review to their live performance!
It's actually made as a worship song. Me and my sis, my mom, was so touched and got teary eyed when we realized that it is. And it was confirmed on the interviews.

Nyebe is one of Pablo's songs on his SoundCloud. i am so happy it has already graduated from SC 2 years later. cant wait for all of his unreleased songs to be heard by the world
Yeah, we don't have snow here, just fcking fist-sized hale bombarding rooftops in areas in Baguio City. Oh and typhoons that seemingly compete with each other, getting more destructive as years pass by, devastating cities--and we get them only once a year if we're lucky (it's always twice or more)!
Wait I can't let this pass having seen the presscon with Stell calling SB19 a movement to uplift (go up) and Pablo adding that it includes the evolution of the larger SB19 eco system. Xi Anne has producer credits for this vid. As one of their most loyal behind the scene PA/coordinator, this shows how loyalty goes both ways. Their team is listed individually here along with the fandom. How can you not love and admire these guys???

Btw Efra, “alam ko” means “I know.” You picked a really useful phrase to like.

Nyebe, derived from Spanish "nieve" means snow. I think we don't have a native word for that as the Philippines never had a snow 😅. I wish there'll be a Spanish version of the song...
This lyric video has English translation to the Tagalog lyrics. The message is so profound and visualized through the video and the lyrics. As always, thank you for the support!
Apologies for the delay on this, it has been blocked several times... This is our last attempt. Hope you can still enjoy guys.

NYEBE by SB19 (English Translation)
Why hadn't I noticed its touch upon my face
A cold heavier than my burden
Though it's coming, what they're anticipating
That which used to stir my heart, now frozen
Don't know what else to do
Just content to know we're still breathing
After all that I've been through
Just don't know how else to be happy
Though we're apart, you're all of my prayer
Fear will vanish, and this I promise
I am here.
I know this isn't possible
But why does the snow fall?
My arms are freezing, yearning for your voice
To kiss you I hope won't be impossible
Ah the snow...snow..snow
It's cold, but never mind
Snow.. snow.. snow
Long as you're always there
These arms be freezing
While my chest's a-thumping
But just to hear your voice
Will melt all of the snow away
Spent all my hours on frivolous things
Forgetting time has taken wing
And if I could fly, let my wings be broke
If only to stop the time
and keep me here
I know this isn't possible
But why does it fall?
Why does it keep on falling?
Ah, the snow...snow..snow
I know this isn't possible
But why does the snow fall?
These arms be freezing
Yearning for your voice
To kiss you I hope is possible
Ah the snow.. snow.. snow
It's cold but never mind
Snow.. snow.. snow..
Long as you're always there
These arms be freezing
While my chest's a-thumping
But just to hear your voice
Will melt away all
Melt away all
Melt away all of this
Snow
Well done👏
