Killdeer in early morning at the Logan river in Utah, USA

While visiting with family for several days in Northern Utah I took some time early on the morning of June 18th to go to a nearby marina and photograph birds. This killdeer was with several others hunting along the shallow edge of the river for small insects. You can see it vibrate one foot then watch to see if anything moves. If it sees one of the aquatic insects that live in the mud moving, it can then grab it. The faint mist drifting behind the bird adds a special touch to this video.
