I’m married to a 5th Generation Oklahoma Farmer/Rancher (family came here during the Land Run.) Our sons are 6th Generation, proudly carrying on the tradition. We have farms spread out over 3 counties out here in NW OK. Y’all are building & living a great life that some of us are very Blessed to live. It’s a hard, rewarding life filled with ups & downs, heartbreak & joy. Enjoy the Journey, it’s well worth it.
Dude is so pretty! Love watching the pigs! Love how friendly Maximus is. He is so beautiful. You have the most beautiful long horns and of course my favorite June! Frank has come along way. I remember when you couldn’t pet him. Even MJ has calmed down! Such beautiful animals. Y’all are truly blessed and so deserving. ❤❤❤
We handle the processing ourselves because it's much more cost-effective, and you can be sure you're getting your own deer. I don’t think we’ve ever taken a deer to be processed elsewhere. If you happen to get a deer with a wound, make sure to check the injury site to ensure the meat is still good. I wouldn’t recommend processing the meat near the wound.
Where in Ontario? Barrie? I'm in Toronto and still no snow yet, I'm hoping it holds off til at least Thursday because I gotta bring my dog in to get spayed
Hi Chad and Rae. My opinion, I would rather you did harvest the gimpy deer, so its not suffering or gets hurt worse. Deer meat in chili is awesome. Love you all. Blessings
My dear Daddy used to go out into the woods behind the house, rabbit and squirrel were the most common dinners he brought back but sometimes I refused to partake in his bounty, lol. He would harvest a couple of dears and fishing was a weekly ritual, mushroom hunting for morels in the spring, he knew how to freeze them so it was always served in the winter months during holidays. Good times and good eating and great memories.
I wish I lived near you. Even though I’m 74 years old I would come to your house and wash the little buggy for you and shine it up. It would sparkle like a holiday. I’m a great car detailer. Love you guys so much. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
These places need to hire you to test their equipment and give them True ratings. Love seeing you and Rae together out on the trails. Thanks for the video! God Bless and Love you guys!! 💞💞
Hello Chad and Rae from Florida. I am sorry I am not able to watch you tonight. I am off to bed early. I had 3 teeth pulled today and pain meds knocking me out. God bless all of the Doss families I will watch it later. Again i am sorry
Betty, Wishing you well, I am sure you were told not to drink through a straw for few days (don’t want to disturb the blood clots). Warm tea is also good for healing. Stay warm, it’s cold here for Florida (panhandle).
The baby cows wanted to check the mail too. Glad you finally got the deer feeder working. I agree with you about the hurt deer. Houston Arms killed one they named “Limpie Gimpy “ he was also hurt in the leg. Stay warm and healthy.
you always take out the weak out of the herd first. I been butchering my own deer for 45 years . Also tan my own hides. not that hard. I debone my deer. We made it a family thing and that speeds up the process a lot. Only problem with that is you get a lot of packages marked Dads breakfast or fishing trip roast. The Bearded Butcher has a great video out for anyone wanting to learn.
You NEED to harvest Gimpy. I enjoyed this video. Watching Izzy and Dizzy trying to figure out which bowl to eat out of! So happy you now have the deer feeder working so now go hunt Gimpy🤗🤗💞💞💙💙🦌🦌
I would blame Kyle and Shannon for the out of place tape measure that happens all the time on Doss Acres so I do believe they had something to do with that lol !
Chad my 14 yr old Grandson got a 8 point last week. He's ready for some back strap ! Glad to see it looks like Rae is feeling better. Wow - Lil Dude can move! Lol Have a wonderful week 😊 Love 🌻 from Apex NC 💜
If we want thuringer, meat sticks or jerky, we always take it in to be processed. Just hamburger and cuts of meat we do it ourselves. Of course, we field dress them and remove their jackets...its easier when they're still warm. Just remember to remove the whole trachea and poop chute, it'll save the meat. I didn't see a wound on that injured buck and deer are really resilient! Ive seen them with broken legs and be a happy, productive deer. How prevalent is CWD in Oklahoma? If its there, might want to have it tested for it. According to the CDC there hasn't been any transitions to humans from an ungulate but I think it's better safe than sorry. Love your videos, the whole Doss family! ❤️
You need a few sheep. Not joking, lamb is the tastiest meat out there. I’m Scottish, we have millions of sheep wandering the hills and mountains. Can’t praise them highly enough. They’re also tough little critters.
Hello. Love your whole family. My husband and I were guessing what a Maximus/June baby would look like. Gonna be so cool! In one of your videos you were asking about cleaning your fireplace glass. We were just watching Evan from Countryview Acres and he mentioned that he takes a wet rag and dips it into the ashes and cleans the glass then wipes it with a clean cloth. All I know is it looked really clean.
Love that Dude lets you all touch and get close. He is so cute. WOW what a jump! lol lol I hope you get the tractor this week. Yea! Now it is working. All the best!
Hi Chad + Rae, I am writing for the first time. I love your lifestyle. Chad did you know when you hum, it's your dad's wormy dance song, I think. I love it!😊
Hello and so good to see you both again and so cool new goodie’s for the house 😮lol if that’s your gift wow ! As I got a new swift it this Halloween for mine and was excited as I could clean after the kids 😆😆😆😆thanks and take care.
I see Florida in the house hey from Central FL.About 10-15 min from Orlando. It's cold here also, but as bad as you guys. Moved here from Ohio I'll take this cold over Ohio any day. Love y'all.❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Rae👋🏻! I’m glad you both have the heated side by side 😁! Chad, yay 🎉the deer feeder works…ouch🤭! Time to get Mr. Gimpy 😊! Thanks for sharing, take care 🙏🏻🤗💕!
Hi Chad and Rae I noticed Kyle and Shannon have changed their channel name to Doss Acres.... is this a combo of Doss family farms and Lumnah Acres??? 😂😂😂
Good evening Chad and Rae please pray for my 75 year old sister she lives in a nursing home and was rolled out of her bed last night which resulted in a fractured hip. Also is having problems with breathing.
Chad, you had ask about an adequate gun caliber to hunt with. I grew up hunting with a 30-30 Marlin. It has adequate knock down power and is excellent in timber due to its overall length. My dad had a 300 Savage and countless deer were harvested with it. It’s a little more grams of powder which would be a good choice and fit for anyone. I brought this caliber to the table for one simple reason. The 300 Savage seems to be a good bit more versatile at +80 yards due to a longer barrel. But let me say this, know and understand all there is to know about the gun you will hunt with and then some. You already know all of this I’m sure. It’s important especially for the young hunter who wants to be just like you. My dad always told that it’s not the size of the gun but the placement of the bullet that will bring the venison to the table. Good luck with the hunting. But I do request a report on the adrenaline rush when you think about pulling the trigger and haven’t quite mustered a calming effect on your nerves. Last but not least. When you get settled into your hunting blind, open your bible app and start reading. It always brought me peace of mind and pleasantries in my day to know that God is really real. God bless yall with a wonderful holiday season as Christmas rolls around once again. God is so good!
I love how there's 2 different distinct curves to their horns. Maximus style and tipsy style. I think I like tipsy horns better, I think they're more elegant.
My dad ate all kinds of wild game venison, snake, wild hog , duck & even squirrel but he grew up in a small country town in SC. I can not touch wild meat. Even if it is prepared by the best of cooks. Someone tried to fool me & pass off venison as roast beef. Nope it is too strong tasting to me even if it is the tenderloin that has been soaked in buttermilk. No judging but not for me!
I saw a passenger in a straight truck at a truck stop get out and use a squeegee on the inside of the windshield and passenger door window. It gave me a chuckle
June bug holds a very special place in the herd, she’s the queen.
I’m married to a 5th Generation Oklahoma Farmer/Rancher (family came here during the Land Run.) Our sons are 6th Generation, proudly carrying on the tradition. We have farms spread out over 3 counties out here in NW OK.

My dad and uncles would go every year. My grandma Mary would make venison pepper jerky. Just hung on lines in the garage. I miss that jerky.
Good Simple Living channel just recently did a video of processing a deer from start to finish. Worth checking out.
