One of the coolest, newer bands to exist. Goodness gracious I hope they keep the underlying strokes feel because I am really really digging these guys and it’s giving me an early 2000 Renaissance feeling

This is my favorite lyricism that Cameron offers from Projector. Other tracks have an impenetrability to them, but this one I feel wears its premise more on its sleeve, lyrically, playing with the dichotomy found in the title. _Fantasies/Survival._ Security vs Fulfillment. Fear vs Action. Cameron's narrator fancies himself more in line with someone who pursues their fantasies; he goes out into a dark world and dares to spend the night looking out at the sky in a wicked city. The foil (who can very much be someone else or the part of Cameron that he cuts out when he goes "under the knife") is described as dying 'on the head of the pin,' implying he lived his entire life cautiously, calling upon a safety pin for comparison, and didn't have any appreciation for the glorification of violence ("with no love for the silver screen"). The foil fears the wicked figures in the night, and Cameron is out musing underneath the moonlight. "Sleeping in the middle of a drum" is such a great line, because it insists that the foil is trying to find respite wherever he can, but the danger of the outside world keeps banging away with no regard for him. The imagery of a palmful of pearls is definitely more Fantasies than Survival (hence the *shaking* hands), which makes a great pivot to the question: "Don't you ever show them your fantasies?" almost as if to ask the foil "Haven't you ever dreamt of taking a risk?"

I honestly got a feeling that rock will never die. Is it as mainstream as it used to be? Hell no, it isn't. But there's always gonna be amazing bands like Geese, King Gizzard, black midi (R.I.P) and countless other bands who put out amazing music like this.
