Thank you for explaining as to how the 3D model is composed of , and dissecting it to their basic structure also how to raise , lower the component. Great explanation.
Thank you, Richard! I used VCarve for 5 years, and it has a lot to offer. The next few videos will be VCarve Based, but I will eventually get into creating the models in Aspire. I know that Aspire is very pricey, but there's still a lot you can do within VCarve.
Great video! I still have a hard time grasping the concept of "add" versus "merge". I know I just need to play with Aspire more. BTW... love the file name "bad idea" LOL
Thanks! I figured "bad idea" was easier to remember than the Latin equivalent. I'd see the Latin name, forget what it meant, and never look at it again... As for the difference between Add and Merge, I demonstrate the difference on the Bad Idea file in the next video of the series, here: th-cam.com/video/vKRjPBCvbbY/w-d-xo.html
How did you create a vector that fit the outside of the rope for cutout? I was surprised to see you live over in White city. I live in Sunriver just over the mountains from you. 😀 Really good tutorial, thanks for the video!
Thank you, George. Yeah, I'm about 3 hours away from you, give or take. I'm going to get into creating that vector, along with several other related things, in the next video. This video was just to introduce the concept, and suggest to folks they look at things from a slightly different angle. I'll start getting into the specifics starting next week.
I have a question on downloading files from design and make a Vcarve company. I bought a collection series called wildlife scenes. When I open the files they say Certifacate Trust List. I viewed the help info from design and make but no where does it talk about cert. trust list. A few days ago I asked you when downloading files I sould get CRV or STL. These files say STL until you open them. I'm using Vcarve 9.5 with windows 7 professional. Any help would be great. Thanks Carl
Okay, it sounds like it's time to get hold of Design and Make tech support. I've never come across a Certificate Trust List before. That may be something in the Windows operating system and nothing to do with VCarve at all. Best bet is to get hold of Design and Make.
Actually, this was the only video on the concept of composite models. It's Part 5 of my series on 3D Carving for Beginners. The easiest way to find the "index" to all of my videos, is to click on my name under the video you're watching. That will take you to my TH-cam channel page. Right under the channel's banner pic, you'll see PLAYLISTS. Click that link, and it'll take you to a list of all of the playlists I've created. Just about all of the videos I've made are on one of those playlists. To save you a bit of time, here's a link to the playlist of all of the 3D Carving for Beginners videos: th-cam.com/play/PLLuYLaC3-QRPb0jNAfuB-xOlAUHWl1wkC.html Thanks for watching! I really do appreciate it!

Great explanation.
As always simply superb instruction. Great work thank you for taking the time and for sharing your knowledge
Excellent summary Mark. Thank you.
Thank you Gerald!
great work thanks Mark
Another very helpful tutorial. Thank you.
Thank you Mike!
Thank you Mark. Another very informative video. Who knows I might even learn to do this!
Thank you, Eddie! If I can do it, anyone can. Just keep at it!
I agree, keep them up. I’m new to CNC and appreciate them very much
Thank you, Jon!
Just one word " MORE " thanks
There will be more, for sure. Thanks for checking it out!
Very helpful! Modeling is a bit (a lot) beyond my grasp, so thanks for this. And thanks for using Vcarve, as Aspire is kind-a pricey.

Good video Mark. I guess I need to upgrade to Aspire so I can learn this new fangled 3D stuff. :-)
Thanks Dave! The next few videos will be for VCarve as well as Aspire, but I'd never try to talk anyone out of upgrading.

Just for reference purposes, how long did it take to cut this model?
I haven't carved it yet, Jim. I'm going to get into machining times in a future video. Thanks for checking it out!
How can I view videos 1 through 4 of The Concept of Composite 3D Models

Hey, not all of them can be winners, but even a broken clock is right once a day. Thanks Lyle!
