One point that wasn't in the video is the fact, that all her life Leah was crying because she thought that she was destined for Esuv, her tears brought Yaakov close.
Probably a stretch, but with the meanings of the names Rachel and Leah, remind me of the empathy lesson God was teaching Jonah towards Nineveh. When even the cattle repented.
it made me cry the tears that I normally would have while hearing EICHA at the shul!!

I heard from a big Rabbi who even gets visits from the chief Rabbi of Israel, he says that the shechina and presence of GD is more at the kever Rachael than the Kotel.
I was blown away with this deep revelation. It gave me understanding about myself, my life and my journey into the supernatural. This is where I am meant to study my true heritage in Christ Jesus, KING OF THE JEWS!!!!
Lovely midrash. Thanks for sharing these deep connections. I do find it interesting that her intercession in heaven on behalf of the exiles is only effective because she chose to take upon herself Leah’s suffering and extend reconciliation, which is the same kind of profile and pattern we see in Isaiah 53.
B'resheet (Gen) 30:14 During the wheat harvest season Re’uven went and found mandrakes in the field and brought them to his mother Le’ah. Rachel said to Le’ah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes [so that I can be fertile].”
דודאים comes from Dodi My Beloved, either a Love plant or a fertility plant. Duda'im were either a Love plant (to make a love potion) or a fertility plant. The fact probably is that the Duda'im were BOTH THOSE THINGS. Leah coveted the Duda'im to magically become Yaakov's first love while Rachel coveted the Duda'im to become pregnant.
Melech Ha Moshiach will return establish his everlasting kingdom in Jerusalem and rule the nations from Zion. Then will we all live in peace. We just have to wait.

If we can interpret Rachel selling a night with Jacob for some flowers as an act of compassion, is there a way we can reinterpret Esau selling his birthright for a pot of red lentils?
After they both ( Rachel and Leah)had forgiveness between each they both moved forward. Rachel was able to convince. The Ultimate Gift is the of forgiveness this is true love ( YahuShua).

I believe you're allowed to learn Torah that has to do with mourning. This is for the purpose of connecting to the mourning so I believe it's okay. But I'm obviously not a rabbi.
Yes. Rabbi David Fohrman is deeply devout and observant, and does not mislead. His videos were mentioned as being suitable for viewing on Tisha B'Av by the Orthodox Union (OU) and others. Watching the video is not learning Torah; it is learning about experiencing Tisha B'Av.
Why do you say that Rachel was jealous of her sister when it says that she was envious. With the word jealous it makes her seem fearful but envy shows her feeling of discontentment at not bearing fruit.
I'm hoping you really want to learn the Sod level of the Torah. Leah and Rachel are a picture of Adam and Eve and the patterns throughout the book. The Sod level, like it or not,is the New Testament. It is all about the firstborn,or fleshly nature(Adam/Leah who have been given the favor first) verses the second born,or spiritual nature(Eve/Rachael who get the favor last,by choice).Rachael's action was that she laid down her wants for her sister of the fleshly nature but the pattern repeats so the child born in her name was of the fleshly nature as well.
Absolutely! But you can only tell one story at a time, right? Plus, there are other angles to see in this beautiful story, other nuances in interpretations and each teaches us something about how to be in our lives.
Thank you for putting together this study. I loved it, but disagree on one point. There are no tears in heaven. Rachel must have been crying in Abraham’s bosom or in Sheol, waiting for the Messiah and mourning for her children & for the day of redemption to come, but certainly: she was not crying in heaven.
That's not true - the angels cried out from heaven when Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac - his beloved son! as he believed it was God's will, & their tears fell on Isaacs face & caused him to eventually go blind in his old age & that's how he was fooled to bless Jacob first even tho Esau was firstborn, as Rebecca suggested he dress himself in Esau's clothing & Jacob felt him...its all in the first of the 5 books of the Torah!
Baruch Hashem!!! I'm waiting for the Day.
