I have a tattoo on my left calf of a street sign at the intersection of Grey Street and The End of the World. This song speaks to me as somebody who's dealt with depression, because no matter how much you want to fight and see color and joy in life, there are times it inexplicably turns to grey.
It's insane how this song has evolved. Grey Street(Citi Field), YMDT(Citi Field), So Damn Lucky(Citi Field), So Right(5/22/13), One sweet World(Citi Field), Seek Up (7/30/01), or Shotgun (Hershey 2012)...All are INCREDIBLE. Dont miss the Studio version of Drunken Soldier!
I’ve found DMB studio versions are great that way when I see them I can sing well try to when I see them. But definitely like there live videos! Luckily I live close to venue’s they play! Hope you guys have a fantastic week!
If you listen to a live version which are absolutely the best versions , find one with ALL original lyrics , not the shortened version , which is great too but full lyrics live the best . They brought back original full song a couple years ago and when we saw them live we lost our minds cause we hadn’t heard it in years 🙂🙂
Always love the horns in DMB. I think most of us at some point have been in a dark place that feels like you’ll never make it out. The song is beautiful!
You should check out the original Lillywhite Session version of this song… far superior in my mind. Grey Street(along with Seek Up) is one of my all time favorites
I'm sorry but a reaction to a live version of this would have been so much better. It's been said by many on here, and i'll say it also... all DMB songs should be listened to live ( especially a first listen!!). This is nice on record, but so SO much better live. A missed opportunity for you to have a first ever listen to as live😥
I can see the reasoning for this track though for a first listen, only because Dave dropped the third verse for live performances, removing any reference to Grey St from the song.
@@car_tag Not true, they play the "full version" live now (as of the last couple of years). But even with what you say, the live version is infinitely better, more emotional, more interesting, and more dynamic. This should have been a live version reaction. I'm sad they only got this studio cut as their first experience of this song, and as i see they never go back and do comparisons of live/studio versions, they have missed the boat on this one. 🤷
They sound so "clean" on the studio albums as compared to the live. Both are equally good for different reasons. My favorite thing about Dave is listening to all the various versions of his songs he puts out. You should both really check out at least one song from The Warehouse Sessions... it's just Dave and his drummer Carter together... it's super chill with a unique vibe... link if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/1Ol3DexHogA/w-d-xo.html Love the channel as always! :)
I watched every video you guys have done on the Dave Matthews band and I'm loving it is a lifelong fan😊 I appreciate you reactions
Thank you kindly 💚
This band was just inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame just last weekend. A well deserved honor.
Absolutely 😁

Ah, wish it was a live version. There are a couple great ones out there.

as someone who saw Grey street multiple times in 2000, the 3rd verse is a must!
Please do a live version of this its even better
Dang this was tough to watch 😥
Some happy ones to counter the sadness

agree with this...even more raw
Please react to Grey Street Live. You won’t be disappointed. This is a great song, and the live version is amazing!! Keep up the good work!
If I could vote for a next DMB song it would be “The Dreaming Tree” studio version
DMB Tripping Billies live from Woodstock 1999
“Before these crowded streets” is probably DMB’s best album, you should react to any song from that album
If you think this is dark I cantl't wait for you to hear Gravedigger! Lol
Agreed. Live is always better but listen to Fonzy on this track. Absolutely 🔥
Fonzy live on this song is even better. This should never have been a reaction to the recording.

Dave Matthews Band -The Last Stop (Live In Chicago '98)
Hi guys love your chanel, take a listen to year of the cat ( Al Stewart) think you will love it. Take care
Steven was wrong, far better live.
Pretty sure it’s about Dave’s sister that committed suicide since she struggled with depression. Great video
Dave's sister was killed by her husband. After murdering her, he committed suicide
