      True. Though it wasn't a big point by any means. She was already up a break so she didn't necessarily need another one. Plus it didn't even give her opponent a game point or anything

      @@TheMitchie21 The time umpires give depends on a situation. They give more time if the shot that is being quetioned is "finishing shot" in the point, meaning that the opponent wasn't able to return the shot ( ace or a winner). In this case point is over anyway so few seconds doesn't make any difference. But in a situation where point hasn't been stopped by an out call and player had a opportunity to keep the point going you can't wait to see if your own shot was in or not and then challenge. Umpire was 100% correct in this situation.

      There were hardly any microphones on that court so I couldn't hear any of the conversation, but I think that she felt Teichmann misunderstood her situation and as mentioned, she has a pro-longed knee injury and had just returned to the tour. I could be wrong, but that's what I think happened.

    • @TennisAdvocate

      @Einars Dubrovskis I'm not sure, maybe she just endured it and didn't want to give up. I can't say for sure though that she used "dirty tactics" or not.

    How can you make a tennis drama without Putintseva. She is always with her crazy antics.

  • @TheBullet0012
    @TheBullet0012 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like how there is 2 rather similar cases, but with different outcomes.. Collins wanting to challenge the shot from the opponent and not hers.. but she waited to long, so the Umpire correctly says no, you can’t do that.. then right after that a different match, but with somewhat similar situation.. the player returns the ball, but at the same time challenges the ball, that she returned.. but this time, she didn’t wait, so she is allowed to do it.. and I believe that was indeed the correct decision.. just very curious..

    • @einarsd4
      @einarsd4 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are delusional loser and clown. A call has to happen for a tennis player to challenge it and that's exactly what happened in Collins's match. She challenged the call right after the call happened. Umpire was wrong. You clearly don't understand how tennis works.

    Collins and Putinseva are playing a different game: who can be the most reviled player on the WTA. They are both neck and neck. Although Strycova didn't make it into this compilation, she also seems to be playing the same game as Collins and Putinseva.

    • @jonj.2418
      @jonj.2418 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Collins just has a nasty attitude. Just because she was successful in collegiate tennis doesn't mean it's going to transition into pro. She's gotta win a WTA tournament first before she can even think of having that uber entitled attitude. Putinseva and Strycova are more like emotional whiners compared to Collins IMO.

    • @charliechaz1982
      @charliechaz1982 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Strycova is retired. 2. She outburst occasionally but not as often as alot of these players that figure weekly. In reality Strycova outbursts were cute rather than obnoxious and were usually followed by a laugh or smile. Half the time she appeared in these videos through falling over or running into chairs. Don't remember her breaking a racket once. Putinseva does it every week.

    It was kinda shocking Nara didn't immediately give the point, but it's good that she eventually did. Not sure why Nara retired.
    Buzarnescu seems to have done that very intentionally, and I support what Teichmann did if she is right.
    Collins thought maybe the ball was out but decided to play it anyway. She absolutely waited until her shot went out to challenge. Sometimes umpires give the benefit on the doubt on that, but they often do not. AND THE BALL WAS HALF ON THE LINE LIKE ??? HOW WAS IT A FOOT OUT?? It sucks that she beat Ash.
    First, Golubic had an obnoxious reaction. Then she walked away even though Kalinskaya was getting ready to serve. The call was definitely strict (maybe a little too strict), but I approve because she was ridiculous. Golubic may have called the ball at a decent time for the challenge though. It was easy to tell her shot wasn't going to work, but the time frame was still pretty small. Kalinskaya waited for the result of the challenge and then played dumb.
    lol Putinseva
