Hard disagree. Super swingy cards like that aren’t fun to play with or watch. Like when Jess had a Lab player scoop after she went +4 off Duster turn 2 to win a YCS a while back. Swingy cards just aren’t enjoyable. Plus they get Twin Twisters soon at super which is frankly a much more fair card for this point in the series than Duster, Heavy, or Trunade.
Why didn't Alex bounce his Fire Hand with Compulsory Evacuation Device in game 1? He saw Gage had a Vanity's Fiend. Not bouncing his Fire Hand to avoid it being sacrificed was a major misplay.
Wouldn’t have mattered since Gage had Jiangshi. He’d still be able to end up with a guy on board to sack off for Vanity’s Fiend and you end up with the same board state a couple turns later. The only way he has to clear Jiangshi is to commit into a rank 4, which then prevents him from clearing Gage’s board so h just tribute summons the next turn. Only way to actually out the Vanity’s Fiend with his extra deck also happens to be Pearl since they’d be on equal cards so Exciton wouldn’t work.
Wow, I understand that misplays can happen - but Alex threw G1 so badly. The result may not have even changed but the quality of play was just awful. All you do is on activation of soul exchange, compulse your own monster. Unless I'm mistaken this was a very common play against older monarch decks that you think he would know. It could just be hindsight, but he saw the entire line already due to the duality.
