I shoot the same bow. I bought mine several years ago when they were offering the orange glass instead of green for $500. Mine is 60 pounds at 28. I shoot a traditional only carbon arrow 300 spine with 300 grains upfront. It really is a wicked nice bow! there was a article in a traditional bowhunter magazine several years ago that I read that was written by a NASA engineer. He was explaining that helical twist feathers on arrows are absolutely pointless. Apparently arrows cannot spin fast enough for the helical to have any effect on straightness. this only occurs with extreme speed which is why bullets need to spin in order to keep accuracy. essentially helical feathers only slow the arrow down. so by using shorter 3 inch straight fetched feathers he was able to increase arrow speed at the 20 yard range by 18 feet a second with zero impact on arrow flight. I couldn't believe it so I had to try it! And wouldn't you know it it worked, I only got 16 feet a second faster at 20 yard range but it was worth it because the arrows still flew like darts! Anyway I thought I'd pass this along it's worth trying! sorry about the lengthy comment. Love your videos and thanks for your channel!
Dude heck ya man love this bow. Man that's cool stuff I would love to tinker and play with that man. Might even do a video on it... no problem thanks for the long comment for real man...I just love traditional archery man and enjoy making content. Thanks for the love and support man
@@SidehillDisciples you're welcome! It just came to me after sending this, if you check out Fred Eichler's arrow set up it's just how I described. Straight fetched except his feathers are two and three-quarter inch! That would make a cool video. Thanks again sir!
I have a Bear Kodiak Magnum 55#, Blacktail Elite 54#, 2 Bear Super Grizzly 40#, 2 PSE KUDU 45#. I like your 59 Kodiak but I think my next bow will be the Kodiak Magnum in 45lb or 50lb to use in colder NY late season when I get stiff and cramped. Enjoyed the video!
I have a 59 that I bought in 1960. I still shoot it occasionally. It looks close to new.
That is super cool wow they must be some durable bows
i shot several fred bear bows but 59 kodiak is the next on my list to try out..,.thanks for the review
Thanks man you are gonna love it

Ok cool I sure will look that up man... ya man I will get a Chrono graph with different arrow and different fletching and do something with it :)
I have my great uncle's kodiak, he bought it new in the '60s. Thing is still an absolute beast of a bow
sweet bow! One day I will have one 🙂
That 40 yard shot was impressive.
I sure appreciate it
I hear you about the smoothness brother. I shoot 60# and had to check mine was 60# when it arrived because it felt so smooth to draw. Great vid.
Good video bro. l just got the same bow this week, can't wait to try it out. Love how light it is, compare to my takedown bow.
Thanks man yes bro it's a awesome bow your gonna love it

Hi how feels drawcycle between ausable and kodiak?
Hey how's it going... feels close but the ausable is a little more forgiving. But both are so smooth
Thanks brother man.... thats right man much love dude
Why are you teasing me? I really don't *need* a 59 Kodiak, but I've been spending the last 2 weeks looking at these.
Dude seriously the best shooting bow I have:) get one bro
Curious ... why chose Kodiak over the Super K or the K Hunter.
@@danielsbackforty8094 idk really just tried it out
Brother your stringer scares me 😂 . I would highly recommend the Hoyt stringer just due to safety. Beautiful looking bow though
Lol it's a tad sketchy haha I will look into it man thanks :)
Love the review. I would buy the limbsaver by selway bowstringer.its the best I've ever had.i have the same setup
Sweet shooter.
Ok cool good looking I will check into it thanks man
@jrodslife1750 also love the tattoos brother. I'm covered as well.they look awsome. Shoot straight and aim small.
They stay on well even hangin from deer stand
What model bowstringer is that?
I don’t get that feather rest.
I didn't either till I shot it.... its so smooth and less friction
@@SidehillDisciples
Seems like arrows would blow off easy in the wind.
Nice bow, geta better stringer
@Flyrod10 thanks... it works
I ordered one last week it's coming in😊
@earlfultz8603 heck ya you are gonna love it!
@@SidehillDisciples I have a 1978 Kodiak camo and I also have a 71 grizzly and a 62 grizzly but I can't wait to get my hands on this one
