I’m always blown away by how strong James McAvoy’s accent is because he’s so good at nailing other types of accent that when he speaks in his native voice it’s like “whoa, he’s brilliant!” Not to mention ridiculously handsome and humble, great actor, I just adore him.
And yet he said he's not good with accents:(
Nana Hs really? I had no idea he was Scottish until i’ve heard him I’m interviews. He doesn’t have to brag or get egotistical about it but come on man, admit you’ve got the talent. He just super humble I guess.

Humility and self-deprecation is a very British thing. Our ethos is: let other people praise you but don’t do it yourself; it’s arrogant and vulgar. There’s nothing more odious to us than a person braying about their own qualities - their qualities are for others to decide. It’s really ingrained in the British psyche, to the point that it’s difficult to complete job applications and interviews because they require lauding yourself!
You have the accent
If you haven't seen him on SNL last weekend you Must. He has a great Cajun accent, and an amazing Midwest US accent (my home, he nailed it, hints of a Michigan specific area on the Charmin commercial)
I'm now stalking the James McAvoy chat show appearances coz that voice just gets me. I love when he talks in his natural accent it's so rare now.

it really is a vortex of scottish charm (watch is Craig Ferguson interviews, it gets real Scottish real fast).
@Soulafein82 I think it's a combination of being in a group (so the focus isn't completely on you) and the fact that they talk for a longer time makes GNS so great. It doesn't feel as rushed. The alcohol and the fact that Graham Norton is hilarious doesn't hurt either.

One thing about Seth is he seems to be one of the only hosts who will cut himself off mid sentence when his guest starts to speak, he knows we're all here to listen to the guest anyway. Better than Jimmy "talk over everyone" Kimmel
Thought it's Jimmy Fallon who talk over everyone.. Kimmel is not so bad compared to Fallon, and rarely giving fake reaction too imo

you're so right!!!!!! seth is also very humble. I think he's just more introverted than other hosts in general. note how he made a self-deprecating joke when he said "confidence must be a delight to go through life with".

He really pulled back on his accent in this interview. Which is understandable bc most Americans can’t understand a Scottish accent, let alone a pure Glaswegian. He’s so conscious of his audience and that’s great but I just love it when he can speak normally without having to worry about being understood. No hate, just wish I can hear more of that lovely Scottish accent of his.

McAvoy has become a great and well known actor in is own right already. Like he said, he's worked with a ton of big stars before, too, so it's not a new thing to sit next to two big movie stars.

He admired Bruce since "Moonlighting". I've followed James since "Children of Dune". Back before Sci-Fi went all shite SyFy. James as Leto II had me hooked, and Jessica Brooks as Ghanima = 💖Man, I'm gonna have to go re-watch that whole set of mini-series now (Dune + Children)
He's terrific but that series was cheesy af, nothing close to the genius of the original novels

Ok what James McAvoy DOES NOT say here speaks volumes. Let me break it down.... Bruce Willis has a reputation of being difficult to work with and a bit of a grouch/ass. I don't know if he was here, but when asked what it was like to work with Bruce and Samuel, he only mentions that he liked watching him in Moonlighting and that's it. Then when he moved on to Samuel L. Jackson he said he loved working with him lol. It is even worse when you realize that Bruce Willis did not have a good time doing Moonlighting, and tried hard to shake that typecast when he went into films. So, whether he meant to or not, mentioning Moonlighting as your main like of Willis is a great way to piss him off. Maybe some passive-aggressive or being as diplomatic as possible from James McAvoy lol.

Moonlighting was a great show, but even if you didn't like it - he's pretty different in almost everything else. And, I hope you don't mean you haven't seen the first Die Hard. That was only the single best action movie in movie history :)

He said “A confidence”...emphasis on the A. (He first says “an earned confidence”) he’s not saying he himself hasn’t got any confidence. They’re both talking about how the confidence that Sam has got is of an unmatched quality.
It sounds like a quote to me! He didnt pause within the sentence and the way the sentence is structured sounds almost poetic... googled it, but found nothing.
