Today is 09/11/2022. I still remember what happened the time that I saw Khmer Rouge soldiers walking by our house. One of the things that stays with me is when I saw people push hospital bed with sick person on it along the road during the evacuation on Monivong blvd near French Embassy. They were patients from Praket Mealea hospital. I also remember my father said that a teacher turned singer was shot by the Khmer Rouge when he was arguing. He was my favorite singer during Lon Nol regime. I loved to see him sing American songs. He was shot at Prek Kdam.

When Phnom Penh was conquered by the Khmer Rouge in 1975, I remember that a lot of Japanese communists and socialists were overjoyed by the news. A lot of horrific truths were disclosed since then, and many of them keep silent about genocide in Cambodia as if nothing has happened there.

Back in the day, a lot of communists and socialists were ignorant about each other's ideologies. They just saw each other as common allies against the capitalist establishment.
