Wow, that was a wonderful segment! Beautiful scenery as I sit here in my N. Florida patio 😁! What a great experience for those young men! Hey Stan, congratulations on your 5th CT hike completion, Woohooo!
I want to thank you. These rides that some people, (for whatever reason) can’t do, will be enjoyed through you, and it is really a cool thing. The way you present the different angles and the views is amazing. I am so happy God created such a beautiful planet for us to enjoy. Thanks again for doing this for us. 👍😊
What a wonderful segment. Good to see young men getting out for an adventure. Kudos to there parents for letting them go. Beautiful country. Take care, Al
Wow totally epic that a bunch of 17 year olds are conquering that together! So so amazing to have the maturity, knowledge, strength, and desire at that age! And from NYC? Wow so cool!
I liked this video at 1:13 when you said "we are in their territory" about bears. Thank you for your fun, inspiring, thoughtful, enlightened and pro-environment videos, Ryan. You are a joy to watch.
Make every day count, do what you really want to do, everyday, everyday, everyday. This is some dirty I heard years ago. I believe that life can be an adventure even in the little things in life like taking a short road trip or planning your day even at home. I am 74 years old and went through a bout of cancer over the last 2 years but I am getting well and plan to walk the Appalation trail for the American Cancer Foundation. I watched a family of 8 do just that and I told myself that if they can do it, so can I. That family's vlog is To The Treeline, with Ben Crawford and Family. Their main vlog is Fight for together. Keep on keeping on and just be you cause you are a positive messenger in showing people how to REALLY LIVE THEIR LIVES EVERYDAY. God bless you Ryan.
I just have to say I love that part about the bear and that we are the ones intruding. That is the best piece of advice you can give any hiker biker or just outdoorsy person.
Now THAT is a camping spot! Love your meeting with the guys. When I was finishing high school, I hiked the Appalachian Trail through Shenandoah National Park with a friend. It was my first big adventure, and more years ago than I would ever want to acknowledge. Seeing myself so many years ago in those guys with their excitement and sense of adventure was awesome and so nostalgic. I had many more adventures over the next decade or so after that, but life got in the way. I'm getting close to retirement now and trying to get back into those little adventures, albeit less challenging. I am not even close to being in the physical condition necessary to tackle anything quite so difficult as the Colorado Trail, as much as I wish I was. And perhaps at my age, I never will be again. But one doesn't need to have high elevation and massive vertical feet to have adventure. You've inspired me. So much so that, for the past few years, I have taken to riding my bike to commute to work. I'm at work now in fact... don't tell anyone! Rode 12 miles to get here. Even that little commute is a daily little adventure in itself. Rain, Sunshine, Wind, Cloudy Days, always different, and always relaxing. Moral of the story? Get out there. And it doesn't have to be the Colorado Trail or a cross country trip. It can even be a daily commute to work! Love your videos. Keep them coming!
I never comment on TH-cam videos, but had to here! I just completed the CT this year, I had done segments 1 through 13 in 2020 and then I did the remainder here in 2021 and just finished a couple weeks ago. My girlfriend was prepping to do some segment backpacking of the CT and took a little exploratory trip into Lost Creek about a month ago. I was just watching your Lost Creek detour video, and was making some lunch at the same time and just happened to glance over when you were talking to Stan, well my girlfriends car is in the background when you were talking to him!!!! I called her into the room and said oh my God do you recognize that! Ghetto bike rack winch strapped to the top of a cheap car rack I had bought from Walmart so that she could transport my bike and myself out to drop me off since I recently sold my truck! Her little tiny car!! We were dying laughing. I love your videos I was watching them prior to when I got onto the CT in 2020 as I had no experience with bike packing. I found the CT to be incredibly beautiful and incredibly hard. When you referenced 9/10 on difficulty I can completely agree. Five times throughout my journey for instance, I strapped my bike to my backpack and just carried it up the steepest of the hills.I liked watching your video when you were leaving Wellington Lake I specifically recall that very hill, and when you were riding on Matakat Road, I absolutely love it up there I think it’s one of the prettiest sections of the CT in fact, But I really like rocks so I might be a little biased when I can see them. I’m putting together a video from my experience as well. Thanks for all the content that you share!
Another classic Duzer video full of excellent story telling, shooting, and editing. Oh, and you even read Isabella Bird's writing. What a woman! Believed to be the first woman to climb Longs. She held her own around tough as nails mountain men. Lived in Estes Park when it truly was a "park", as high mountain meadows were called way back then. Ryan, you should read "A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains". Great read. May make you think you were born way too late! Stay safe always, man. All of us love your stuff. :-)
Stan is awesom. I do not know anybody who drives al lorry or truck for living who gave cycling a chance and its so cool that he started hiking to stay alive and fit!
Truly amazing. I’m riding across North Carolina to bring in the last few days of my 30’s. Colorado Trail is on the bucket list. Rode the TransVirginia Route in June. I’m addicted and your videos and adventures are feeding the addiction. Thank you.
First of all, the Stage Stop! I owned property about 5 miles from there and lived in the area for 15 years. I could tell you stories about what all went on in that place, lol :) The Hayman fire; it was so tragic and it's a testament to how long it takes a forest to grow back. I drive down 67 fairly frequently to get in some hiking. My favorite state park so far is Mueller (haven't visited every state park yet but plan on it!). If you haven't biked or hiked there yet Ryan, I highly recommend it! Really enjoyed this episode as I'm familiar with the areas you biked thru and it brought back some good memories!
That was so cool those high school guys were doing a bikepacking trip and you got to hang out together. I wish bike racing could become a high school sport in America. I don't have any grandkids, but I would totally support that in my community.
A great video Ryan; beautiful country, a very nice way to spend my Monday morning. Great to see young people getting out there and enjoying life rather than couch surfing the TV (as I’m doing right now watching this). I always love your interactions along the trail as they bring a real world perspective to everyone’s motivational journey in life. Great to see you thinking about your Mum along the way 😊🚴♀️
Well done Ryan, Stan the man truck driver was actually an interesting guy and the congrats to those young kids for having the adventurous spirit, best wishes to them, keep these interesting videos coming 👌👍
I have to say it's so great to see younger people actually pick up the joy of being active. Personally I've always been active, but I'm almost more active now being 40 years old, and to me it's just something I would never change for anything. Right now my bike is just dead weight because my brakes are shot, so have to wait for some new one's and so on, but I still got my legs and some shoes.
Thoroughly enjoyable video (both the cinematography and the commentary) and some really nice flowy single track. Even the bits on the dirt roads looked fun and the views were spectacular. Maybe it’s time I hang up the hiking boots and get on my bike …
Great video Ryan, I look forward to seeing the rest of the trip! Your videos give me so much inspiration to get out there! I'm making a comeback for multiple sclerosis I haven't done a bike trip in about nineteen years and I'm planning on riding the Pacific coast, Astoria or. To ventura ca. Next summer!! I believe being an avid cyclist my whole life has helped me or actually has been the key to beating MS!!! KEEP ON KEEPEN ON!!!!!
Heck yeah Stan is interesting! I wish he had a channel. Colorado Trail five times? I'm still hoping to do it once, either on-foot, on-bike, or a combo. I want to hear more from Stan!
One of your best, stunning scenery, great music, stellar editing. You really conveyed a deep sense of being in solitude and in tune with yourself and your surroundings.
You know the sound I love when your on your bike doing a bike trip, is the sound of gravel underneath your bike tyres, when riding . The other sound is silence. 🇺🇸❤️🙏🏴
What an incredible journey, with such amazing scenery. Your uplifting spirit it’s such a welcoming change in this sometimes chaotic world. All the best on the rest of your adventure. 👍
So great to watch these installments, Ryan! I recognize all these landmarks, so cool! Unfortunately the stage stop was closed when I rode through about a month ago. Coulda used that pizza! I’m going to do the rest of the ride starting at section 6/Georgia pass this Friday the 13th! Hopefully the smoke isn’t getting too bad for you.
Your presents makes my heart happy. I have really considered saving and never buying a car just by watching your videos. Hope I can make to America one day. Thank you!
I biked the CT last summer and it was a transformational experience! These shots are bringing back some great (and some tough) memories. Looking forward to seeing how your trip goes over the next few episodes!
I wish I could have learn how to ride a bike. I’m 65, I want to learn how to ride like you but maybe on a short flat area and do have an Suggestion for this old gal. Enjoy watching your videos and would like to thank you for staying with the Navajo family on your trip through the Navajo nation 😎👍🏼💨🚴.
This is how life should be lived!
How bout Stan the truck driver? And those high school kids?? Stay tuned for more as I continue to meet awesome people on the Colorado Trail
Yes very awesome 😎
Love seeing all the people you meet. What a great experience for those boys!!
Wow, that was a wonderful segment! Beautiful scenery as I sit here in my N. Florida patio 😁! What a great experience for those young men! Hey Stan, congratulations on your 5th CT hike completion, Woohooo!
Give the kids credit, that looks like alot to take on
Love the Stan story, and the track at 8:12 Would love to know the name if you would share :)
I love that when you talk about bear spray you’re standing in front of a tree marked by a bear.
I want to thank you. These rides that some people, (for whatever reason) can’t do, will be enjoyed through you, and it is really a cool thing. The way you present the different angles and the views is amazing. I am so happy God created such a beautiful planet for us to enjoy. Thanks again for doing this for us. 👍😊
It's great seeing those young guys embracing nature, exercising, and seeing that they're fit.
Running into Ryan during an adventure is like putting the cherry on top of the banana split.
What a wonderful segment. Good to see young men getting out for an adventure. Kudos to there parents for letting them go.
Beautiful country. Take care, Al
Hats off to those high schoolers. Real young folks.
I was so impressed with them
Wow! That's really cool seeing the next generation 17 year Olds enjoying trail bicycling!
Wow totally epic that a bunch of 17 year olds are conquering that together! So so amazing to have the maturity, knowledge, strength, and desire at that age! And from NYC? Wow so cool!

I appreciate your kind words, I love making these videos
Be safe Ryan. You are mighty inspiring.
The best part of the day is who you made smile 😘
Always!
Your people interviews are probably my favorite parts of your videos. I loved Stan's story, if you're seeing this Stan, thank you for sharing!
Stan is so cool! Stay tuned for many more awesome interactions

It's great to see young people doing these adventures.
Nowadays around here I see mostly older people on e-bikes
I have been watching you and dreaming while I'm under quarrtinine
Helt underbara vyer. Colorado ligger högt på min lista av resmål. 🙏
Most videos fail to translate the actual beauty of the outdoors. Yours, however, come surprisingly close to the real thing. Good job!
I was just going to post the same thing. His videos have a special quality to them that most don't. Hope he has a spare belt drive with him.
Absolutely agree with you.
My favorite part of your videos is always your positive outlook at the beginning of each day. #NoCFW !!! 😎👍
You live in a beautiful country, Ryan - please keep sharing these videos with us.

What route are you taking in NC? I recently rode from Raleigh to Virginia Beach
@@David-mj3bj I’m doing a modified version of the Appalachian Gravel Growler. A brewery tour of WNC. I modified it to end in Abingdon VA
That’s so awesome running into some young kids. Very motivational
As I'm watching, I was thinking......"Why are there not more trees???" Excellent video Ryan!! Yes, you're right; there are many stories to tell. DD
Stan from Iowa! Woohoo, another fellow Iowan. I'm an older (57) bike tourer, hiker in Glenwood. Peace to you Ryan and Stan.

That guy in the cowboy hat side-eyeing the pizza. Hah.

Ryan, teach those young pups how to do it! Keep being awesome!

Enjoy watching your videos and would like to thank you for staying with the Navajo family on your trip through the Navajo nation 😎👍🏼💨🚴.
Hey look at those snug helmet straps! Nice!
Now I’m more convinced about sun sleeves. I’m always hesitant about jumping into streams because I don’t wanna fuss with reapplying sunscreen
