An excellent read - puts the sun in to perspective and makes the case for the whole universe being conscious and intracellular....like our very own bodies, thoughts, feelings and such like....A great read

I first heard this idea of a conscious sun when Rupert Sheldrake, on a Runesoup podcast a few weeks ago, suggested this is where the newly fashionably materialist pantheism would logically take us. The idea really struck me as I'd never even considered it. By your summary it seems Sheldrake was at least aware of this book when he made his comments and I look forward to reading it and exploring these ideas further. Thanks David.

I had a listen to the podcast and I agree with the comparison, Arthur. Perhaps Sheldrake will have the profile to take the idea into the mainstream. I should clarify that in this book Sams uses the sun as an example of a potential higher consciousness but by no means would it be the highest form.
A good book which I meant to include in the video is Intelligence in Nature by Jeremy Narby. He is more well known for The Cosmic Serpent but some of the examples of consciousness he argues for in this one are very convincing.
Thanks for watching, Arthur; I appreciate it.

Indeed, Rupert Sheldrake attended one of my book launch talks in 2009 and asked a pertinent question. Later on he advised me that he had once hosted a small group to discuss whether Sun was conscious. It seems he felt that way but the group came to no conclusion as they couldn't figure how to prove it scientifically. Last year he did give a couple talks about the conscious Sun.

Great review - glad you highlighted Gregory Sams' unique and insightful take on animism, which is one of the main things I took away from this fabulous book. Reading Thomas Campbell's 'My Big TOE (Theory of Everything)'; he seems to be saying much the same thing about universal consciousness and our place in it, albeit using different linguistic protocols. Sun of gOd is an important book - thanks again for reviewing...

Cheers, Neil! My Big TOE is on my list. I hope to get to it soon.

It's BIG in all respects! You'll need to put aside a few days. But it's well worth it in my opinion...
