I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.

bitchin vid, love the high-speed welder action, wish it was that fast, but it almost is sometimes.
but can you explain why you need a table like this? Is it just cause you can? Just to have interesting video content? The pit underneath must have some reason....lot of work just for something that have cool gizmo action.

Nice project👍well done. One concern I'd personally would have is the likelihood of water or oil getting in the concrete hole. I'd dig a bit deeper to add a sump pump and drain outlet ...below the location of the wench. Even on my covered carport and our covered shop, water gets on the floor occasionally from condensation from having a tin roof. Another thing is we sometimes intentionally wash them with soap and water to clean up.

    • @Hellsong89

MMh more like some design flaws in this build (water/other fluid removal from hole?, smaller bits can fall in there and are pain in the ass to get back, what happens when something breaks/jams down there? chancing the table top sheeting when its damaged enough is pain, cause no bolts or screws, how sturdy this thing really is in highest position? and that thing is really slooooooow... O.o), what people didnt like, but i do dig the idea. It just needs little tinkering to get it perfected.

    • @TrevorDennis100
      @TrevorDennis100 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@Hellsong89 Totally agree. So much work went into it, and it would not have taken much more effort to make significant improvement. The cantilever pivots for instance. As they are, they will allow an annoying amount of movement in the bench top. Machined journals and bushings, with some sort of simple thrust race between the box sections, would have made a ton of difference making the bench top way more rigid and rattle free.

Good fabrication. Now you just need to wire it to a single pushbutton switch, instead of having to hold it down to raise it...then you'll be able to walk out, push the button, and have enough time to go back inside and cook yourself a nice bacon and eggs breakfast along with some fresh squeezed orange juice, and the table should be almost fully raised by the time you go back out to work. :-)

Now this is what I'm wanting to make. I couldn't tell for sure, but it looked like it only needed around 16 or 20 inches of travel on the threaded rod to reach it's full height. Am I about right? Also, what is the lifting capacity of this prize. Keep up the ''EXCELLENT'' work, Sir.

Damn you. I just subscribed to your channel tonight but I can tell I'm going to have to unsubscribe for health reasons. I'm going to kill myself building all this COOL stuff. I've got to build a lift table cart for work and viewing this has given me ideas to simplify what I was planning. You are one resourceful SOB. And I used to think I was good before I saw you. I'm not worthy :(

dude... this so f**kin rocks!!! I'm in the early stages of building a house and I am putting in a bay access door. was worried about how to get large stuff into the basement since the door base is 6" (inches) above ground level but the floor is 14" (Inches) below the door base. Thanks... hope u don't mind if I modify this idea into an access platform.

incredible! I'm going to steal the idea, if you don't mind. I've been thinking about putting a lift into my shop for quite a long while, but couldn't pull the trigger on the price. if I build my own I can probably put 1 on my Metalworking side and my woodworking side of the shop.
you young guys are pretty damn smart!

How much weight do you think this could safely lift? This is one of the most practical lifting mechanisms I have seen and would make a great motorcycle lift, my Indian weighs about a 1,000 pounds..........

Great project, great idea, good workmanship and good video presentation but the music absolutely sucked. I turned the audio off after the first 30 seconds just so I could watch the rest of the video, why oh why did you pick that sound bite, this project deserved a more technical, practical sound to it. That crazy music didn't match the level of your creativity.

And mobile Working table very Light but robust with a similar hight Change mechanism but using a drill machine (to fast change the Hight ) or use a crank for manual use.

I actually thought of doing the same thing. I have an ATV lift that i made with a winch and its always in the way putting it in the ground would be ideal . I do have it on heavy duty casters but still in way. Two thumbs up. I don't know if you put a drain there but that is what has been holding me back from doing it.

Hey, you should add bellows underneath the table, to keep nuts and bolts and other stuff from getting into the hole. I'd buy the bellow, but you'd probably MAKE them too. Pretty sweet table. Like the vids. Keep it up.

You are a VERY creative person and your designs are fantastic. I'm curious about something on this one though. At 4:34 when you are testing the motion of the lift, I see the back of the motor moving up and down. I'm wondering if this was part of the design or should there be another support at the back of the motor to make it more stable?

Professional video as always, but, really, could we as your audience vote for leaving away the ugly music added as a background? The noise of the working process is sufficient, and sweet enough to listen to.

Nice, a lot of work but... what's the point of this? You always want your working area to be there ready for you to keep working on your project. Wouldn't it be easier to just put some wheels and roll it out of the way or make it foldable?

  • @valimel

would it be possible to make something like this with a bar to make it lift in one go but about 400mm x 600mm low enough to slide under a metal tool box on about 50mm wheels its a van vault and need an idea how to lift it high enough to slide in back of van with tools inside, like your build, cheers

  • @skyskelton97

when happens when you lose a big bolt down the hole and it jams up the system? of if the motor fails when it all the way down? or if the hole gets filled with water or oil or something? i see a lot of flaws in this design. you've gone and reinvented the wheel (or in this case, the table) without considering there's a reason why you don't see them built like this.

What if some water gets inside ? A big storm can make a big mess ! On the other side, the build has some play (Like in 4:23 when he lifts the table) from the pulleys and the shafts and this may get the table to tilt in a disturbing way.

Awesome Project! love it, you might want to make a flexible cover for that hole (like the ones they use on mills and other machines to cover the rails). just to keep any small parts from falling down there while you're working. Just a sugestion, you can take it or leave it.
I just discovered your chanel today and I am amazed at how many cool videos you have! You just gained one more subscriber and a life time viewer.
