For Viltrumites, it's different, because sound is their weakness, One weakness Viltrumites have is their inner ear, which is delicately balanced in order to accommodate their flight. Thousands of years of evolution and getting used to moving through a full 360 degrees of motion in the air has its drawbacks.

Omni-man on the other hand has fought countless people with power matching his own. So even if they had similar strength, Homelander would still lose. Could a civilian beat a soldier? Possibly, but what about a soldier who has fought countless wars and has enough medals on him to match a disco ball.
Bit of Invincible spoilers here but as someone that’s read the whole series multiple times it’s so weird to see things like this depict Nolan as a villain, when for the vast majority of the series he’s actually one of the most morally sound characters in the story. I get it’s because the show hasn’t gotten there yet but it still always throws me.
