Where was the Breakfast Club? You can't make this list with only one John Hughes movie. And if you're going to pick an SE Hinton movie it better be the Outsiders.
Lori Loughlin,James Spader film,The New Kids,Kim Richards in Meatballs 2,Jami Gertz,Vincent Spano in Alphabet City, also in Solar Warriors,Carey Lowell in Downtwisted, also with John Stockwell in Dangerously Close,Leah Thompson in Yellow Pages,Howard the Duck, also in Spacecamp with Kelly Preston,Emilio Estevez in That was Then this is Now,Wisdom,Jason Gedrick in Iron Eagle,Rooftops,Kerri Greene in Three for the Road,Lucas.
I agree with number 1 that is one of the best eighties movie my son was born in 1999 I introduced him to the eighties he said that he would have loved to be a part of the eighties
The 80s really had some amazing (teen) movies. I personally would have ranked Pretty In Pink within the Top 20 and had ranked The Breakfast Club higher (Top 3) with Ferris Bueller's Day Off closely behind. Otherwise, good list.
Hard to believe how those 80s stars and the rest of us have aged. Also the misogyny that was prevalent back then is definitely not something I miss. I do miss my youth, my parents youthfulness and like we would be young forever.
This is obviously skewed dude. If that's so, where's Red Dawn, Tuff Turf and The Last American Virgin, Oxford Blues, Footloose, Class, Teen Wolf? Where's Girls Just Want to Have Fun? Satisfaction? There are some on here that I've never even heard of, let alone watched. And some missing that are great. Where's One Crazy Summer? Where is Weird Science? Adventures in Babysitting? The Lost Boys? Teen Witch? Less Than Zero? Johnny Be Good? The Blue Lagoon? The Flamingo Kid? Little Darlings? The Pirate Movie? Does ET count? Young Guns? Mannequin? Real Genius? A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon? Friday the 13th? Nightmare on Elm Street? St Elmo's Fire? Personally, as a teenaged girl from the 80's, I would have put 16 Candles at no. 1 and Dirty Dancing would have been much higher. Peggy Sue? Is it really a teen movie, since Kathleen Turner was in her 30's?
Whats your favrtiove 70s-90s movie? Mine are..... 10 things i hate about you, stand by me , running on empty , lisence to drive , clueless , sixteen candles , never been kissed , the breakfast club.
Peggye Sue does not belong on this list. You forgot some obvious Ones: HEAVEN HELP US, FOOTLOOSE, ANIMAL HOUSE, LAST AMERICAN VIRGIN, WEIRD SCIENCE, REAL GENIUS, JOYSTICK, ETC. Obviously you missed that period.
So far I agree with just one the guys, zapped, some kind. Of wonderful. Being on the list. Im glad they atleast got mentioned. Cause they hardly ever do in a best of list. They are so underrated. I mean you could go for the obvious ones like the breakfast club, pretty in pink, or sixteen candles. But its nice to see the underdogs get mentioned for a change
@@ph0enix428 hmm 🤔 can’t think of any similar ones to mischief off the top for my head but as far some other teen movies of the 80’s that not on this list have you seen once bitten? One of jim Carrey’s first movies… and another good one I just watched for first time recently is called mystery date with a young Ethan hawke
Does anybody know where I can watch Rumble Fish? I read the book and now I really want to watch it. I didn't even know they made a movie of it. I really like S. E. Hinton's work.
I think we couldn't have got a lot of these films in the UK. I love the Karate Kid, The Outsiders and Gregory ' s Girl. As a Scot I have to say, you guys got a dubbed version of Gregory's Girl with the actors doing their 'posh' voices. I think it must have lost a lot of its humour in translation.
Say anything, valley girl , making the grade were good too. They often get over looked. Maybe some of them weren't the top movies at the box office at the time, but they are far from being b-movies.
Totally awesome selections fer sure 😂 .good mix of drama like the dead poets society the outsiders. & stand by me. Comedy with darker side like Heathers, summer school ,the sure thing, better off dead nice to see them mentioned. Who ever did this list nice job.
The 1980s: the ULTIMATE time to be a teenager. I lived it all.
no doubt!
You are so lucky!!
The ultimate time to be a teenager. Ultimate is the key word.
@@tameriajones593 What is your definition of "Ultimate"? I was born in '71, You love your experience better?
Too bad people focus on the past thru nostalgia instead of hoping, expecting, and working towards better!!!
Great selection. I'll add a few more: One crazy summer, Class, Footloose, Teen wolf, Weird Science, Real genius, Taps, Nightmare on Elm st...
I think in 80s and 90s they really knew what is true romance not like now.
They sure did those are my favorite, i have few in my collection
you're right

@@80sDECADEshouldNEVERLEFT they said both years the hell
I'm 13 and seen nearly all of these, it was the moment I realise I love my life! Stand By Me BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!
Taps, Weird Science, Last American Virgin, The lost boys, Fright Night, Mischief and many more are missing
Porkys, The Wild Life, Fraternity Vacation... etc My list would be so different.

VisionQuest, The Wild Life, That was then..This is Now, Weird Science, Johnny B. Goode, All the Right Moves.
the last American virgin....maybe the first movie that made me cry...
Where was the Breakfast Club? You can't make this list with only one John Hughes movie. And if you're going to pick an SE Hinton movie it better be the Outsiders.

You can get the blu Ray now thank goodness! My all time fav.
I still haven't seen it but I recently met an actor who was in it.
Some nice choices. Especially the more obscure ones like The Heavenly Kid & Secret Admirer. Cant Buy Me Love was also great and Zapped was so funny.
You forgot LITTLE DARLINGS with Kristy Mc Nichol and Tatum O'Neil❤

I can't believe The Last American Virgin is not on the list!
Ferris Bueller’s Day off at number 2 was a great choice. Personally my number 1 but I’m so pleased to see it so high
The Wild Life, One Crazy Summer, Loverboy, Footloose, Purple Rain, Red Dawn, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Night of the Comet,
The Wild Life is soo good!
Loved Night of the Comet!
Wierd Science, real genius, top gun, Willow, ladyhawk... There were so many
Ladyhawke was not a teen flick.
The Last American Virgin. The Wild Life.
Fire with Fire is truly under rated and such a great movie!!
Add "Electric Dreams" (from the Summer of 1984) to the list about Edgar the talking computer!!! With the late Lenny Von Dohlen & Virginia Madsen.
One of the best soundtracks from that era
Nice collection of 80's movies. As mentioned, still a lot of classics are missing. Imo 'Youngblood' with Rob Lowe should also be on it.
I saw way too many movies in the 1980's. 48 out of the 50 I remembered the instant they came up on screen.
I agree with number 1 that is one of the best eighties movie my son was born in 1999 I introduced him to the eighties he said that he would have loved to be a part of the eighties

As most experts says, the 80's is the last of the great decades....
Quite a list. Saw almost all of em
I've seen 40 plus of the 50! And wasn't born until 1979
Missing Fatal Beauty, Police Academy, Flamingo Kid, Beverly Hills Cop, RAD, Jumpin Jack Flash, Burglar,
Great selection. I would add "Loverboy (1989)", "Diner", "Last American Virgin" and "Class"
Great list of movies THANKS!!! =)❤💯
I'm reaching out for your prayers and support. Please keep me in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.
“Oh Captain, my Captain” *stands on desk*
Robin Williams ruined so many films, hamming it up or treacle-ling it down. If he's just kept his ego out, they'd be better films.
electric dreams , streets of fire and many more , u missed Iconic movies ....
yeah also last anerican virgin
Less Than Zero & Seven Minutes in Heaven were also memorable.
Bad Boys is such an underrated classic. I get excited every time I see it on the TV guide, and then see starring will smith and martin Lawerence :(
You forgot Mannequin.
somebody plz tell the music where is actually took it from ?

Peggy Sue? Is it really a teen movie, since Kathleen Turner was in her 30's?
Stand by me is a kids film. They were 12. Before they became teens. It was the point of the whole movie.
They were in their summer before high school. That would've made them 13 or 14.
My fav generation love their style, movies and music....omg!oh generation when i was born as well.
For me the best film is The Secret Admired. I watch hundreds times.
these were my days the 80s and half these movies I haven't seen
Thanks for the visit down memory lane. I wonder what the list would look like if a girl made it- different ranking of movies entirely in that case.

Zapped got a 4.9 on IMDb. It was mostly made for girls crushing on the star.
80s best decade ever for movies
Stealing Home has some great teen scenes as well.
No St Elmos Fire?
I think the topic is movies were the main characters are teens.
2 Virginia Madsen movies
The Creator 1995
Electric Dreams 1984?
80s teenage movie. Guy finds out girl is pregnant near the end. He's driving and a slow r&b song is playing and he's crying.
Maybe you're thinking of The Last American Virgin? The song was Just Once by Quincy Jones/ James Ingram.
No Uncle Buck? What about The Last Starfighter? There are some really crappy ass movies on here and these weren't there?
Mischief should be on this list too a prime beautiful Kelly Preston and a funny film
Watched it because of your comment. Thanks, I loved it!
