The crazy thing about Blizzard releasing it like this is that the deck is so straightforward. It's not a crazy decklist that makes sense to have not seen coming. It's just all the hunter weapons and Brann in one deck.
31:49 another way to get leathal here not proposed by chat is just shockspitter X 2, hero power, coin, ricochet shot (for a total 7/7 mana with the coin)
There was another simpler lethal which trump was probably a lot closer to finding. If you do what he did and get the two shocksplitters back in hand, you can play them both, then hero power, then coin out the wound prey for exact lethal
There are lots of ways to balance this, depending on what you want to accomplish. Making it only target minions would make it unplayable since no deck would ever want that card. You could also make it cost 3 or 4, improve only by equipping weapons, or maybe improve by attacking minions only

Just a matter of how soon it can go off and how big the single turn burst can be. 1 mana reduces single turn burst by about 33% and delays the earliest win to at least turn 7-8 vs turn 6. They don't want to kill the deck, they just want to reign in the upside.
pack kodo and stormpike battleram are 2 good beats to include as 4 filler cards without it hurting your chance to find the shockspitter and will make the deck more consistent as one will give you a way to get more weapons and the other will reduce the cost of shockspitters for earlier lethal. it will also make your dredge with the weapon have more chances to get the reduction off, which in turn will give you more tempo on board while amassing the combo and weapon hits necessary to kill the enemy.

Even with the nerf I still feel Shockspitter is a really powerful card. Even just getting it to 6 damage and bursting with Brann can make it do pretty wild damage. You can combo it at 9 mana and with some tools it's not unreasonable to survive until then. Thing needs to be 4 mana for certain. Think Blizzard vastly underestimated just how often Hunters hit with their own face.
What if we just get rid of Brann instead? Seems like he is what is enabling all the nonsense. Well, bird still probably needs to be at least 3 mana (or cap out how much damage it can do)

There was an easier lethal there at the end. Do the play trump did until he decided to get another shockspitter in his hand, at 31:50. Oponent is at 13 and we have 6 mana, 7 with the coin. Play the two shockspitters from hand for 10 damage face, play ricochet shot for 1 damage face, and hero power for lethal.
Can someone explain to me why the lethal at 33:05 isn't just: Attack 4/6 with hero Shockspitter x3 (15 damage) Devouring swarm on 4/5 Shockspitter x3 (15 damage) Seems the way he (chat) wanted to go about it was more complicated for less damage. Not sure if I'm missing something.
In your scenario Devouring swarm on the 4/5 would only kill the 1/3 and 2 Shockspitters and then die. So you don't get back 3 Shockspitters. And we know this for sure because with Devouring swarm minions attack in the order they where summoned
the selective breeder is played first, so it attacks into the 4/5 first, putting it down to 4/4. then, the shockspitters begin to attack it, but only 2 die and come back to hand because the 4/4 dies before the third one can attack. this means he can only get 10 more damage.

Honestly I don't think that shock spiter needed a nerf as much as Bran does. Every time something is clearly causing a lot of trouble he's almost always there. Still happy to see it though.

This deck would still be insanely OP without brann, it wont be insanely OP with spitter at 3 mana. While technically brann is the problem with a lot of cards like denathrius and astalor, brann is a really fun card, its just that blizzard keeps insisting on making large battlecries that go face
@@bevvvy1374 Brann is fun because it can make any bad cards effect good, even the troll ones. The only reason brann becomes broken is because a battle cry is too strong, so doubling the effect of a strong card makes the card way too powerful. Brann isnt good unless a battlecry is too strong

I played wild ladder to legend recently with a Reno lock list and the stupid spectral pillager OTK deck AND the stupid naval mine OTK deck both of which would regularly kill you before turn 8, and this deck would smash either of them, because you don’t even have to draw fucking cards to win, you just swing with a weapon and win

Dk had 31 HP, shockspitter would do 9 damage after Trump attacks, brann + shockspitter on the face for 18, use the 0 cost spell tô attack the taunt, making shockspitter come back but it would left brann alive, play shockspitter again for a total of 36 damage.
Trump missed lethal in two different ways. The way chat pointed out and... Swing with Candleshot, hit the face for 15 and put them down to 13. Devouring Swarm the taunt to get 2 of the Shockspitters back. Play them each for 2 mana, put the oponent to 3. Steady shot. Opponent is at 1. COIN AND RICOCHET SHOT. It was *SO* much simpler! He even moused over the damn Ricochet Shot the next turn. I am unreasonably triggered by that. Edit: Shit. I just realized he has Wound Prey. THAT ALSO WORKS! AARGH

I still haven't played against one yet cus I've all my games are against new/returning players who just play a random class and fill it with semi decent cards and then every free legendary they can possibly receive. A lot of them still stop to check what my minions do lmao

I'm actually kinda sad it got nerfed. Not sure what it was doing in Standard but I haven't seen it at all in Wild...except in my deck. And it was fun, not overpowered by the format's standards, just solid, and it was a brand new way to play Hunter (cause currently all it has is beast spam and a few diehard players who play the questline cause they enjoy it, not cause it's good).
It was beyond broken in standard. Glad it was nerfed. A hunter can easily upgrade it with candle bow and shit, make millions of copies of this beast and slap a brann in the combo because why not

Brewmaster isn't entirely filler
When a deck only uses max 3 mana cards, there is an imbalanced card in there somewhere.
And it's not even an agro deck

You do introduce the risk of mispicking with breeder or to rope the pick tho. Not sure hunters can deal with so many choices

Watching 2 Solitaire decks duke it out is more boring than watching grass grow. Can only imagine what kind of person it takes to play decks like this all day.

The hero power plays kills me, like it's a graendy arena and not a turn 6 otk deck.
I truly believe trump's winrate would go up if the hero power botton was blocked for him.

I still haven't played against one yet cus I've all my games are against new/returning players who just play a random class and fill it with semi decent cards and then every free legendary they can possibly receive. A lot of them still stop to check what my minions do lmao
I mean I 100% agree that this deserved to be nerfed
But I have to say I may be insane but I liked the playstyle of this deck it was fun
I mean, it'll probably still exist. It'll be weaker sure but still playable.
@@johnherb4243 I know I myself actually think that 3 mana is not enough to kill it and it'll be a tier 2ish deck but 3 mana for sure is enough to slow it down

I'm actually kinda sad it got nerfed. Not sure what it was doing in Standard but I haven't seen it at all in Wild...except in my deck. And it was fun, not overpowered by the format's standards, just solid, and it was a brand new way to play Hunter (cause currently all it has is beast spam and a few diehard players who play the questline cause they enjoy it, not cause it's good).
It was beyond broken in standard. Glad it was nerfed. A hunter can easily upgrade it with candle bow and shit, make millions of copies of this beast and slap a brann in the combo because why not
turns out that turn 6 OTK doesn't matter when on turn 3 there is a Neptulon on board
