      Thank you Wendy! I really like these filters. Water tastes better than with my previous ProOne.

    Thanks for sharing Anne. This was interesting. I’ve heard a lot about Berkey not being the best and it’s good for other affordable options

      I heard very mixed reviews on Berkey, you are right. This one is too new yet. Only time will tell. But I like it so far.

      It’s working well for us so far. It’s a new brand. The owners used to be Berkey’s distributors I think.

    Thanks for sharing. Curious about them since I’ve been getting ads in my feed. Pronounced “bōrō” I believe.

      You are right about the pronunciation. Looks like a French name actually.

    Wow, never actually tried my TDS meter on tap water. Years ago when I bought it, my well water was only double digits. Too long ago to remember the filters I was testing, but the filtered water actually added particulates. Still in the double digits, but it did go up.

    • @LittleFrenchyinBigTexas
      @LittleFrenchyinBigTexas  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As long as they are good particles… Mg, Ca, etc.

      Back then the well water was tested a few times over the years(buying the house, insurance and such) at the time I was only paying attention to see if it had any agricultural toxins/ pesticides and such. Water came back safe in all areas.
      Extra particulates from testing the filtered water were supposed to be normal from the filter media the water went through.
      I did test my Berkey 3 years ago. This reminds me to see how it tests now. I do not recall how it went three years ago. I do know it was a parks well system I tested it with.
      I’ll be checking when I get back down to my camper the end of the week.
      Been thinking about the Boroux. Was hoping someone went the extra mile to get professional testing to see if they filtered any virus and or parasites.

    Don't you love out local water? We are also having issues with our water pressure. Things were a bit better when we moved out here 20+ years ago, but we are looking to relocate within a couple of years..
    I wonder if it would work in our Alexapure ..we have it put up as we have a good system on our fridge at the moment, but I like to keep a few filters on stand by!

      I really think it would work on AlexaPure. They advertise compatibility with a few brands and it includes AlexaPure. I really like the taste of the water with this filter. Better than the ProOne.

    i use a particle meter on mine. i change the filters when it reads 10ppm. my tap water is about 360ppm. I do wish i could clean the Zero filters. i just bought a 12pack for well over $120.

    • @LittleFrenchyinBigTexas
      @LittleFrenchyinBigTexas  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, I heard good reviews on Zero water.

      Do you not clean your filters? From my understanding they need to be cleaned and not replaced. They last a lot longer than most people think may be worth trying

    • @LittleFrenchyinBigTexas
      @LittleFrenchyinBigTexas  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-vn2cm5ok1o yes, you need to clean them, but after a while, they will loose their strength and won’t filter as good and need to be replaced. I am sure the guidance from the vendor will push you to buy new ones more than you need. But at the same time, unless you send a water sample to a lab, it will be hard to tell.

      While particle meters give a good reference point. (I am assuming a TDS meter) Unless you are actually trying to take literally everything out of the water, to include the healthy minerals your body needs. Most average filters will still show some.
      Also if it does show very little? Obviously it doesn’t show if the “particles” are safe or not.

    It seems the Boroux filters have a high lip that would cause the water to sit @ the bottom instead of a complete drainage to the bottom pan. 🤔

    What a POS the Boroux filter is. I’ve primed it 3 times today and they will filter about a 1/4 tank. I feel like I’ve been taken to the cleaners.
