...A dutch oven is about the manliest piece of cookware imaginable. It's a large, straight-sided pot, typically cast iron. Think frontiersmen cooking a big ol' stew over a campfire, the big pot he's stewing in is a dutch oven.

As a chef i feel the need to travel to MRHQ and educate these two on some things, like what the fuck a dutch oven is and how to use it.
its actually true, theyve done tests on broccoli steamed vs boiled vs microwaved and microwave kept more nutrients because it's not washing away shit

I've only had my dutch oven for a few months but use it almost every week. It's just a large pot with a lid. The good ones will be thick and are perfect for all types of cooking. Both cast iron and enameled have their advantages and disadvantages. They don't have to be expensive either. My 6qt one was about $50-60. You get a cast iron one with feet and a lid with a lip and it's perfect for campfire cooking. Sounds like an episode in the making.
I don’t think I ever realized or knew Jason was from a small town. Really connected with him on that feeling of needing to escape. Any reason to move would have been valid.
Nice to see you peeps posting...hope you and your families and the whole gang/crew are doing as well as you can down in Texas...while I'm sure you guys can manage; having several channels dedicated to survival and hacking... I would imagine doing it for a bit in front of a camera is different then actually having to do it to not freeze to death. At least it should make for inspiration for future videos; stay safe guys.

A dutch oven is a heavy cast-iron cooking pot with a lid
I own a Dutch oven and use it to bake I've deep fried and just cooked in it. They are very versatile.

I still play a MUD occasionally that I started playing on twenty years ago. I think the MUD client I use is also roughly as old, but it still works!
A modern rogue episode on dutch oven cooking would be great. Anything you can cook on a stove or in a conventional oven, you can cook in a dutch oven over a fire

I was playing a MUD as recently as 6 years or so ago, I'm sure they're still around.
Yep! Played one as recently as 2 years ago, and I still play occasionally. Most are single player, but there's a relatively big one called Genesis.

Yep MUDs are incredibly niche now. But God are they fun. My favorite is Genesis, unless I'm thinking of the wrong kind of Mud

Trade Wars! Our local BBS had that and Legend of the Red Dragon which was super easy to code stuff for so a bunch of us spent a godly amount of time coding in BASIC extra stuff for our users that based new areas around local landmarks

MUDs are still running. There are several. SDF.org has a MUD and they're an online community.

Shit on a shingle, otherwise known as chipped beef on toast. Staple of the army back in my grandfather's day, and something he and my grandmother used to serve up on cold mornings. Awesome, but definitely a relic of a time where caloric intake was more of a suggestion than a hard rule, heh.

Ok, how have you two not encountered a proper dutch oven, it is a very good way to cook stuff on the fire, while I don't have the recipe, but the best peach cobbler I ever had was made in one of these on a fire. Side note, the guy who made it is the most rogue like guy I have met.
