This is a very good video with a lot of correct info, but one thing he says here is mistaken: "When you are a permanent resident, you have all the same rights as a Bahamian except the right to vote or run for public office." I would not say that at all. You also have to be a citizen to work in the local economy without a work permit, own a locally-operating business, or get a Bahamian passport. You also have to be a citizen to pass citizenship status on to your child under certain conditions. You must live in the Bahamas a very long time to become a citizen. Bahamas immigration rules can be confusing because there are laws and then there are administrative rules that are sometimes more restrictive than the laws themselves. Bahamas is a great place, but I would advise anyone to proceed with caution and follow all Bahamas Immigration rules closely instead of just assuming that you can come to Bahamas and start living and working here. It's not that simple. If you are a retired person not intending to work or own any business, then it's a little easier, but you have to be pretty well-off to do that.
how much is the price per square meter of a vacant lot to build a house in bahamas? how about the prices of condominium? how many landbase casino are there in bahamas?
I want to go to Bahamas but I need a guide line I am from Sierra Leone my country Sierra Leone and the Bahamas is visa free but the problem I didn't have someone to guide me
I don't think the banks in the Bahamas, despite the names on the front of the buildings, are Canadian. I know that I can't do any banking in my small town in Canada that connects in any way to any accounts in the same bank in the Bahamas. I tried to do some banking at my local RBC branch and was told that they have absolutely nothing to do with the Bahamian RBC bank, they share a name and not one other thing. I'm under the impression that Bahamians pay rent to Canadian banks so they can call themselves that, to give them street level credibility to the 10% of Bahamian residents that are ex-pat Canadians. If I'm in the Bahamas and I use my Canadian RBC debit card at a Bahamian branch of what says RBC on the front of the building to withdraw cash it shows (and charges fees) as a debit transaction, not an in-house one. And I've been told that if I open an RBC account in the Bahamas I can't access that account in any way from any RBC in Canada, except as a debit or credit card transaction not in any way different from any other financial institution and not as an in-house transaction. So they look like Canadian banks, but they're not, really.
I think it's for privacy and private banking clients. If they are linked the Canadian government may have reason to tax Bahamian accounts or something to that effect.
Probably the best passport out there for entrepreneurs. No income tax, & visa free access to US, UK, Canada.
