"Felix Faction" I understand this all too well
It's so funny watching you guys theorize about Felix hahaha, he may have a deep voice but he's a super softie who likes to film ASMR videos and bake brownies for his friends, and he and Changbin just released a really cute love song this past weekend!
I was thinking about how he is so opposite of how they think he is lol. Felix fools a lot of people with that voice. I love him lol

The cognitive dissonance when I first saw a Felix ASMR video right after watching the 5-star michelin clip was REAL. He's so sweet though, and his '1 kids room' especially was a delight.

stray kids are a fairly new group. their three year anniversary is actually next week. the last year they’ve really boosted in popularity though. they are really known in the kpop industry and international kpop fans more than in south korea. bts are definitely the most popular group. i think exo and shinee are probably the most influential. but that’s just among boy groups, girl groups are a different story.
You should check out “Miroh” - they incorporated Maori Haka into the choreography.

Stray Kids are pretty new, they debuted in 2018, so they definitely aren't the "big brothers" of kpop (I wish they were) but for a newer group they are really influential in that that are responsible for almost all parts of their music and career, they produce and write all their song and they are very vocal when it comes to their choreography too. The "big brothers/sisters" of kpop date back to early 2000s like Super Junior, Big Bang, Girls' Generation, etc
Ps. Minho/Lee Know is the main dancer that actually danced with BTS as a backup dancer and he Learned dance based in hip hop and krump 😁😊😊💜💜He's center @ 7:33 , right before you paused and asked who Krump 😁😊👍

I don't think any of them krump, actually. Lee Know was a professional dancer before his time in Stray Kids, even performing at World Of Dance stuff and touring with BTS as a backup dancer, so he probably had some exposure to it, and maybe has more experience, but I don't think any of them actually krump. Often, choreos are done or contributed to by choreographers from outside Korea though, and many are from the US, so it's very possible that was choreographed in by someone who does do krump and they just followed the move. Also, Felix's voice is so opposite from his personality. His voice is all deep and intimidating, but in real life, he's such a sweetheart it's insane. He literalyl makes cookies and stuff to share with other idols when they're at the same place performing. His stage persona and who he really is are so drastically different it's hilarious. Also! Stray Kids actually have a hand sign/gesture thing they do whenever they introduce themselves as a group. If you search up "Stray Kids greeting" it'll probably come up, and if you start watching their other content, you'll see it sometime there too probably. If you don't, they basically make a "rock on" sign (pointer and pinky up, the rest down) with each hand, then lock them together sideways kind of like puzzle pieces. The flats of your two mitucked middle fingers should be touching each other. Then they say "Step out! We are, Stray Kids!" and they pull ther hands apart right after they say "Step out." Tons of K-pop groups have their own hand sign/gesture actually which is kind of cool.
@Kate A Haka and krump are completely different though, and have wildly different backgrounds. He included Haka for Miroh to honor victims of that shooting in New Zealand, and because he has history with that region, so I don't think he really has any history with krump directly.

P.S. Y'all should do a guide to Stray Kids! That way you can learn their names and will be able to know who's doing the dancing that you like. They have top tier personalities/are really funny.
And Stray Kids are definitely not the parents LOL. They debuted in 2018, when Kpop has been around since the 80's I think. Stray Kids and other groups like Ateez, TXT and Itzy are considered the fourth generation of K-pop. Older groups from previous generations would more be considered the spearheads of the industry. There are multiple and I think at this point it depends on people's opinions of who was most influential to the industry in each era but some groups would be Girl's Generation, Wonder Girls, Shinee, Super Junior (these were around 2000's and 2010's the second generation) and many others helped really grow the popularity of the genre. Going even further back there were groups like H.O.T., Seo Taiji and boys, Shinhwa, Rain and more (about 1990's) were considered the first generation. Stray Kids are definitely a wonderfully talented group but in the eyes of the industry they are still pretty new.
If anybody wants to correct me or share their own opinions please do! I don't know much about the older generations but this is kind of a very basic summary. Thanks for reading!
(They speak and understand a little bit Japanese, you can see it on interviews and TV plat show they talk naturally... its really sad that Japanese and Korean don't get along well irl 😢)

Hi! Your reactions are fun 🥰 Here are some things that came to mind while watching (sorry it's super long, but I think informative, hopefully):
1) Your "big brother" question- kpop is broken up by "generations," Stray Kids is considered "4th gen," which are groups that debuted 2018-present. They are easily the leaders of the 4th gen, as I'm sure you've heard.
2) Music video choreography- I may be wrong, but it seems that you're under the impression that kpop groups make their choreo only for their music videos. If I'm wrong you can skip ahead to the next point 😆 Kpop group choreography in music videos is the same that they would perform live. This is not created specifically with the mv in mind. When you go to a kpop concert, this is what you will see live. Kpop idols are top tier performance athletes- they dance A LOT. A typical day for them is to go to their company and train and practice literally all day and into the night- vocals AND dance. Since some members of SKZ also make their music, they also have to fit that into their daily schedules, as well.
3) Dance training- it is not uncommon for idols to be trained in many styles of dance. Choreographers, as you guys have noticed, mix styles, and idols are expected to be able to keep up. Most don't just learn the few moves needed for the routine, they've actually been fully trained in the style. I'm not sure who comes up with their krump moves lol. SKZ typically works in tandem with their company's choreographers, so it could be a member or a choreographer.
Whew, I think that's it! I hope I helped you understand the world of kpop a lil better!
I don't think any of the members specializes in krumping but lee know is a professional dancer ever since he was a teenager and hiphop is his expertise. Felix is not scary or intimidating lol, he is very flexible and dance stunts is one of his expertise, he does a lot of flipping and spin kicking in stray kids choreography.

I was really tired when writing that and I didn't realize until now how rude it sounds, and english is my third language so not everything comes out the way I mean for it to do lol. Felix has been my bias since 2017 so that's not at all what I meant, I felt like op made it sound like he is the only all rounder in the group when in fact they all are and I think that's something stays should talk about cause it's not very common in bg that all the members can do everything. To answer your big brother question, no actually skz are considered still very new as they officially debuted in 2018 (after their survival reality show thru which the were formed in 2017). In kpop they groups are commonly understood by their generations. So skz belongs to the 4th generation which many of their seniors from prior generations are still active in the industry hence they are considered young.
Examples of groups that debuted late 2000s (2nd gen) and are still putting out music in 2021 are super junior and SHINee. Groups that debuted after 2010 ish (I’m not sure exactly where it cuts off but it seems to be about this time) are considered 3rd gen and you have the currently big names like bts and black pink, exo, twice etc.Then now we’re going into the 4th generation where you have groups like stray kids and ateez etc.
Ofc it isn’t that the longer you’ve been around the more talented you are (I believe all idols r talented in their own ways and are all deserving of their fame) but those groups belonging to the 2nd/3rd gen have had a longer time to garner a bigger following! Which is why skz is often praised for their insane discography cause they put out so many mini albums/albums although they’ve only been around a few years. All thanks to the fact that they self produce their music, I think they have much more control over their music than many other groups out there!

Felix’s voice and his personality are polar opposites! That’s one of the reasons why we love him, but it’s actually more because of his sweet and warm personality. He and all the members always show so much love to Stay (Stray Kid’s fandom name). How can we not love them all back 😊?
I can’t wait for you all to dive deeper into them as a group and individuals. It’s a totally different experience and you get to appreciate their hard work even more!
Stray kids like many groups all look for inspirations and influences from all over. They don’t limit their concepts to just South Korean culture, so throughout their music, choreography and videos you can see a wide diversity of cultures, including the African dances you spotted and its not their only song. I believe Miroh their title track from March 2019 also has some African influences.
They are a team with their own staff who help these boys grow and reach even bigger heights. That includes a team of choreographers, producers, etc. They sometimes do collaborations and work with different people so it’s never really the same bc they are looking to expand and grow.
Everytime they release and album they do like short reflection documentary videos where the members talk about their work process and how they feel about their new album. It’s really helpful and you get to see some behind the scenes and get some insight into what each of them thinks about their progress in everything!
It’s a combination of efforts that makes all this possible. But at the end of the day the final outcome is them and what we see is the product of LONG practice hours and dedication to their work and fans!

Good to see one of you has now got a bias in stray kids, Felix is amazing, and so are the rest of the guys, once you get to know them it's harder to keep a bias as they will wreck your choice. There is a video on TH-cam called the duality of Felix I think it shows his vocal range as he can do high pitched as well as deep as the ocean.
Seungmin is unrealistically awesome dancing absolutely always such clarity and recoil in his movements, but his heart bleeds that he is so underestimated.

Stray Kids are not seasoned veterans yet but they perform like they are. Stray Kids debuted in 2018. Some of the most popular kpop groups are BTS, EXO, Blackpink, Twice, and Red Velvet. But of these five, I would only consider EXO (debuted in 2012) as seasoned veterans and maybe BTS (debuted in 2013). Super Junior (2005) and Shinee (2008) are older boy groups who are still really popular and still making music. Older girl groups are not really making music anymore. The only older girl group that I can think of that still makes music is Apink (debuted in 2011). But Girl's Generation is an incredibly popular veteran girl group, but they do not make music together anymore.
The way you describe Felix is hilarious, he actually bakes brownies for fun and loves cuddles, he's genuinely one of the softest, sweetest people in the group lol
I honestly don’t think any of them Krump per say but Lee Know has a heavy background in hip hop. He’s the one doing the gun move in the first chorus. I could be wrong though.

I love watching your commentary on the videos. It’s great to have so many different professions come together and look at what is being produced. I’d never pull you away from your stray kids journey but...when you have time look up A.C.E. Their dancing is really impressive and creative. If you decide to react, maybe do both the music video and the dance practice (music videos don’t always do the dancing justice). Try under cover, savage, or favorite boys (goblin). Everything they do is amazing but these are a great start. Looking forward to whatever you put out!!!

Stray Kids are still very young. They are self producing group and all of their songs are written by them since pre-debut (they were like 16-20 years old back then). Now they are 21-23 years old, still young, but very much climbing up the ladders to the top.
Unfortunately I don’t think anyone in Stray Kids krumps but I do know that Lay from EXO does krump. His song Lit prominently features krump. Y’all should check the music video out. I do also know a member of ONF krumps, Wyatt I think.
Stray Kids are (arguably) kpop's most popular 4th generation boy group who are currently beating many records in sales, streams & views etc. They also hold the most awards in history for rookie idols (idols who are in their 1-2 years of their career) which gives them the title for monster rookie idols, so they're not really "big bros" compared to the entire industry but they are the leaders of this generation.

yall notice how there's skz as robbers and skz as police??? yeaaah they were monitoring each other in those tvs pre chorus!! look at how the scenes and expressions change depending on their outfits (one example when theyre riding their van: partying robbers, dejected police) this mv is so so fun

Lee Know is the Krump & Hip Hop man. My boi :) He's the one who fired the gun at the camera at 1 min 4 seconds and the one in the white button-down shirt and jeans at 1 minute 8 seconds. You should know that he admits he tones down his dancing in the group sometimes because he wants it to look more uniform with the group. Team player! :)
I will add that Hyunjin and Felix are part of Dance Racha with Lee Know though (the dance team on Stray Kids). So, Felix is probably trained in Krump too. ;)

I feel like it depends on the company but overall I feel like the big brother of k-pop group; people are inspired by are Super Junior, Bigbang, Exo, Shinee, TVXQ, and now BTS. Stray Kid is a new group(Official debut in 2018) they are part of the 3rd generation of k-pop

I love all of your reactions on here! I binged a bunch of videos today and subscribed, because I love all the little technical details you guys notice that I would never really notice/think about as someone who doesn't dance, but just loves watching.
I think you guys should definitely check out Miroh! As other commenters have mentioned, they use haka in it, which is really neat to see. Also, if you're curious about some of the individuality of their dancers, a few members have released dance videos! Hyunjin choreographed a piece to "When the party's over" by Billie Eilish. If you search "Hyunjin Skz-player" you should find it. Lee Know (aka Lee Minho) also did a dance called "Dawn". You can search "Lee Know Dawn" and it pops up. They're both members of what fans unofficially call the dance line, danceracha (the final member being Felix).
I'd love to see you guys watch a guide video for Stray Kids! Other comments here have mentioned good ones it looks like.
