In Australia you can’t even rely on the weather forecast or weather data anymore!… the “Bureau of Meteorology” has taken it upon themselves to concatenate and “adjust” historical weather data used against todays readings. This also includes failing to place metering equipment outside of “urbanised heat zones” and into more obvious natural metering conditions.
The thing that bothers me the most about the EV insanity is that power companies are raising their rates in order to improve the power grid to support EV charging. Literally, the average Joe who can't afford an expensive EV is paying to subsidize the EV owners.

I took a 2,300 mile trip, while stopping for bathroom breaks, I fueled up while I was taking a stretching or getting lunch. This added less than 4 hours to my journey over 4 days of driving. What they don't tell you is that everything you use in an EV costs you money as it sucks energy from that constantly depleting battery. Using heaters, lights, etc doesn't just limit range, it costs you money!
Gee Dave, insightful. Better to have a petrol tank that magically replenishes itself? Where do you people get this stuff from? 23 other people who know nothing about EV's agree with you. In the US Army they call it a clusterfcuk.
What "evfacts" is trying to point out, is that even in an ICE car, the engine has to use extra power for things like your aircon compressor, etc. It still uses more energy than without. That energy comes from your engine having to work just a little bit harder and burn a little bit more fuel. This is the same as an EV. It's honestly the first accurate thing I've ever heard from an EVangelist, though. So, don't let his nasty demeanor get you down. Though he conveniently ignores the fact that an EV "tank" is vastly smaller with vastly less reserve and the energy you put into it costs more than the energy in the form of liquid petroleum that you put in your ICE. Running your aircon in your ICE car isn't going to drastically reduce your range in the same fashion as an EV, nor cost you anywhere near as much.
You have no idea what you're talking about. My full house solar system (paid for with house energy savings) the excess charges my EV and the cost is peanuts. But on the other hand, when I'm driving long distances on remote Australia highways, with three hours to go to my destination, I love nothing more than pulling off the road and watching half of a movie.
These videos are an excellent source of factual information but they do not explain a great mystery. There are millions of people with good technical knowledge and/or accounting skills that knew that EVs would make poor vehicles for the masses and said so from the beginning. How did almost every government in the world continuously ignore the 95 percent recommending against EVs and then force people to adopt EVs anyway? Governments are the root of this problem.
Once people started voting for "their party" regardless of policy or outcomes it became a free-for-all for elites to take over those parties and do whatever the hell they like. The voters are to blame.
Governments absolutely know how bad EVs are, but they don't care. They want to force ICE cars off the road, force everyone to have EVs and then announce that due to "unforeseen" circumstances, the grid cannot cope, so driving will be rationed. Forcing EVs on the population is all about control. The government will know where you are at all times, who you are with, and can turn your car off at any time.
I have just done a 1000+km road trip using public chargers. My BYD Seal has a realistic range of 480km but a press of the EV Charger icon shows the position of all chargers on my route and a list on the screen showing type, capacity and distance from my location. I was rarely more than 30km from a charger and only once was I 70km from a charger. Every 120 to 150 km we had a break plugging the car in to recharge the 20% to 30% we had used since the last stop...about 10 to 20 minutes on the charger....less than the coffee break for me and passengers. Here in Thailand shopping malls are installing them in the car parks so it is so simple to put the car on charge then inside for a pizza, KFC or whatever, back to the car 30 minutes later and the battery is full....it is way more convenient than faffing about at a petrol station. The car drove perfectly, it was comfortable and the per mile running costs are a fraction of a petrol car...Thailand are embracing EV's there are chargers cropping up everywhere and range anxiety is a thing of the past here....I don't know where you live but I guess you must be living in an underdeveloped country if your only practical transport is petrol and diesel.

Your point about range anxiety may have been correct 1 year ago, but with the installation of hundreds of EV chargers in Thailand, that feature of EV ownership is not an issue.

My dad bought a Tesla a few years ago and got rid of it pretty quickly because of how incredibly inconvenient it was to operate. Luckily he was able to sell it for a good price back then so he didn't lose much money. He now has a hybrid and loves it.
That's why I do regular test drives. There has been a lot of improvement, but I still wouldn't buy one. Maybe in a decade or two. BEVangelists really do hate that people get their own, unbiased experiences.
If you you are a light driver (ie; you won't frequently go on 400 to 1,000 km trips), EV is less hassle than owning an ICE car. But the problem about EV is, if you full charge it and leave it in your garage for a year, the next time you check, you probably won't find any charge in that car. LOL 😂
It isn’t lost on me how they point out the shockingly quick acceleration in most EVs as a selling point, and then mumble about going easy on the pedal to get more range.😂
Yup, they always go on about how " fast " an EV can go but completely ignore the fact that how fast you can go isn't important, it's how FAR you can go that actually matters.

So called "Range Anxiety" which is totally real has several different components. First is the obvious one, EVs for many reasons don't have anywhere near the advertised range. Secondly, chargers are often broken. Thirdly, you have to have an app in order to connect and pay, and that often doesn't work either. And lastly, you need to go hunting for a charger and go out of your way, often, just to find one.

She is terrified of night time charging stations but she uses her Tesla for Uber so she is regularly forced to charge in the dark at lonely and unmanned locations. It would be interesting to see what it would cost a national economy with the time wasted by private and commerical BEV drivers waiting for their vehicle to charge. That's likely to be a significant hidden hit to the economy.
Had a strange conversation with an EV driver recently. Expensive new BMW. He said it 'cost nothing to drive', to which I asked 'what about the depreciation per year?'. Even crazier, he admitted he hadn't been able to sell his previous EV yet.

If your shiny new EV has self driving why even bother to clear a fogged windscreen, except to get a bit of a pre-warning that it is going to crash into something.
As someone who works with tools I get to play with all sorts of drills and other gadgets that all have rechargeable batteries and all of them fail because of the battery. In 20 years you can go through 20 batteries so why would they expect a car to be any different? There's stupid and then there's EV owners
Exactly. The only rechargeable item I like is my iPhone. I have to get a new one every 2-3 years because the battery degrades and I fill up my memory. I can’t stand any other types of rechargeable tools or electronics. You have to constantly remember to charge them when you don’t need them so that they will be charged when you want to use them. Then, surprise you go to use your rechargeable headphones, drill, toothbrush, shaver, etc, etc, etc and SURPRISE, the battery is dead and it is either non-replaceable or cost as much as purchasing a new one. If I buy something electric it must either plug in a wall socket or if portable, must have batteries that can be replaced in 10 seconds rather than 10 hours of charging.
This makes a lot of sense and explains why Teslas and other EVs are always the slowest cars on the motorways. I couldn’t understand why they all seem to sit on 80 to 90k/h in 110k/h motorway, and why when you pass a Tesla, the woman (usually) sitting in the passenger seat seems to pointing and banging on the instrument panel while screaming at the driver as they slow down even more.
When in the US on interstates at the service plazas, the ICE cars are in and out of the fore courts in less than a few minutes. However,, have a look at the section where the chargers are, the vehicles are tethered there for hours. Good luck with that nonsense for people who value their time while travelling.
I live in a large town, over 100,000 residents. There are four public chargers. Looking at the website I see that one of them is not working. There are over fifty petrol/diesel filling stations. They're all open.
I have 5 4x4s( obviously for the pedantic ev owner we don't drive them all daily), wife has a 4x4 and a little ICE, We can use the AC and heaters with very little too no impact to fuel economyand is the same with heavier loads or trailers, weather has never been a factor, Oddly we don't require a singla app, we can fill up anywhere and we don't need data/wifi etc, we can also carry a fuel can or two too extend the range or in case of emergencies and best of all we can pay with CASH..
I love being dictated too, where, how far and when I can drive, by my vehicle and weather I can be warm or not. If only there was an alternative that could effortlessly give the driver control over all of those negative points, a vehicle that could be driven over any terrain, with low repair costs, low insurance, low maintenance, maybe a fuel with amazing energy characteristics, that puts batteries to shame, will be invented, as an option to EVs, that gives over double the range, can tow, go up hills, without being hugely hit on range, doesn’t eat tyres so fast, I guess this is the dream of science fiction 🤷🏻♂️.
The once blue ribbon motoring magazine, WHEELS, is now just a sales pamphlet for EV's of any kind. The locally made cars aren't around anymore to help their sales, so they're now relying on some EV craze to help sell paper. I haven't bought a copy since about 2017.

In the US army using an EV means ‘we’ve just allowed ourselves to get invaded’
How did almost every government in the world continuously ignore the 95 percent recommending against EVs and then force people to adopt EVs anyway? Governments are the root of this problem.
No mystery. It is socialist government agenda.

Had a strange conversation with an EV driver recently. Expensive new BMW. He said it 'cost nothing to drive', to which I asked 'what about the depreciation per year?'. He said he bought it basically at a discount, because it had depreciated 20k in the first 3 years! As if that depreciation will stop now that he's driving!
Even crazier, he admitted he hadn't been able to sell his previous EV yet.
Is there a 911 app for those being robbed at their insecure behind the walmart charger that has no attendent? How about a app that will make your phone into a heater or airconditioner if your stuck charging or not in freezing or scortching temps? An App that makes your smart phone into an umbrella for your half mile walk to that handy meal stop? A fire app to report your BEV fire and get an ambulance the right size for your family. A drill app to help you get into your locked vehicle which had its 12 volt battery die? (really you have to drill into the car) An app for helping to select swear words so you don't run out? How about a Sell to sucker app?
An app to replace a swear jar 😂
And there are plenty of suckers out there...the ones trying to save face=EVangelists.
I use a $50 flip phone. NO internet, NO "apps" NO anything but a plain phone. And I have no intention of ever changing. Those idiots who use f**k phones are giving away ALL their privacy and security. Four of my cars have loud, high powered, computer free, carbureted V8s and manual transmissions. And they are an absolute blast to drive. Sound, feel, and mechanical interaction with the car are all part of what driving is all about.
Did you post this response into TH-cam to upload it for you? Ahhhh no. Your just full of shit 🤣🤣
I am also seriously thinking about ditching my smartphone for a feature phone. I will keep my petrol car for a few years more , and next won't be EV. 👍
@@Nik-8it5p it will be a hybrid of course. Which is basically an EV with a little fuel tank on the end to make you feel safe. As soon as you experience it you will run with it. Like everyone else 👍🏻
@@Audioremedy0785 I just rented a hybrid for 2 weeks (not intentionally) and the driving experience was horrible. It felt great to get back in my normal car.
@@user-jb2om7cm8m what was horrible about it? Seems mad when Teslas are knocking the reviews out of the park. 😂
There is a positive side to EVs. The only time I see high end Audis, BMWs and Mercs going at or below speed limit is when they have green plates...
I'll be doing a 400 mile road trip today in my Toyota Camry that has 500 miles of range on a full tank. (805 km) I'll stop once to fill up and take a break at the gas station for about 10 minutes because I didn't bother to fill up last night. I've got about 350 miles of range this morning so we will travel two or three hours before we stop. Estimated drive time on google maps is about 6 hours and 30 minutes. We will take longer than that because we will stop at a grocery store to get some sandwich makings, and a couple of rest stops to use the restroom and walk around. Should be a pleasant trip. Cheers my friends.
One more thing, we will be running the air-conditioning the whole time and traveling between 65 mph and 80 mph depending on what part of the freeway we are driving on. (100 kph - 130kph)
So four stops in those 500 miles, hmm.
@@bordersw1239Yep the audacity of an ICE driver. Our EV on a 500 mile (not k) we will stop once for a bathroom break, lunch and charge. One thing most EV owners will notice after a long highway trip, is that they aren’t vibrating for a time once they reach their destination, as they would be in an ICE car.
@@craigfreeman9280 Except he's stopping to enjoy life, not being forced to stop at a charger. I could just drive straight through, not having to stop like a Battery car.
@@robertkubrick3738 i’m sorry that you’re too stupid to understand what I said. But then that is typical of closed minded ice owners, you people always have a lame, uninformed attitude. But then I could care less how you want to live, I ride in comfort, save money and enjoy driving more than ever.
my favorite tip "if you dont spend the money , you save 100%" incredible!
Big tip for EV drivers coming to my area. No chargers. 5,382 square kilometres and one public charger. Good luck with that.
When I take a bus trip across town I need to research the transfer routes and where to transfer. When I take the same route day after day I commit the data to memory. Otherwise I have to research a different set of transfers. Using an EV for distance traveling is a lot like riding the bus. When I'm waiting for a bus transfer I'm out in the weather. An EV owner waiting at a public charger grabs a piece of cardboard and fans themselves attempting to not get heat stroke.
I don't like the notion of governments subsidising motor manufacturers with the public purse, we need a referendum on this climate bollox, all done behind closed doors.
So pleased that you said the last one is optional - as I rarely clean my car!
same here....a clean car is a stealable car.....
In reality, if I was actually thinking about purchasing an EV to drive on a daily basis and I read that article about the tips, it would turn me away from buying one!
Driving in the UK these days is stressful enough with a proper car, why on earth would you increase that stress level by burdening yourself with a battery powered car is beyond me.
Friend bought an MG EV it gets at the most 220km and he is a conservative driver. It takes 18 hours to fully recharge at home.
I just watched an old man struggle to open his Frunk on a Tesla.
He struggled because had trouble with finding the app on his phone, and then finding the function to open the frunk.
Life is so much easier with auto start on the keychain.
woe to those who call work not work, and not work work, who trade convenience for lies and lies for convenience
If your shiny new EV has self driving why even bother to clear a fogged windscreen, except to get a bit of a pre-warning that it is going to crash into something.
Your work is enlightening the ignorant masses. Thank you kind sir!
You have to constantly remember to
charge them when you don’t need them so that they will be charged when you want to use them.
Put Simply ...you drive an ICE car the way YOU want to drive it. An EV has to be driven the way IT wants to be driven ....Period!!!!
The EV evangelist is ACTUALLY telling us why we SHOULDN'T buy an EV. TYVM!
Imagine having to make the decision to defog your windscreen versus decreasing your driving range.
Friends don't let friends buy ev's.

Here’s a tip for politicians maybe start with infrastructure first then you go EV not the other way around
The once blue ribbon motoring magazine, WHEELS, is now just a sales pamphlet for EV's of any kind. The locally made cars aren't around anymore to help their sales, so they're now relying on some EV craze to help sell paper. I haven't bought a copy since about 2017.
Adding more electronics to your vehicle makes vehicle's more reliable. Said no one ever.
do you use petrol/diesel fuel in your home
Having to use a phone with an app to buy range is foolhardy. It’s not a stretch of the imagination to see this coming: “Hello Mr. Mguy……..we see that you’ve exceeded your mileage allowance this week. Charging of this vehicle will not be availble until xxxxx date. Please have a nice, carbon-free day.”
Electric cars are a hobby, not just transport.
Religion.
I try as often as I can to have fun, when on the road: If I can "provoke" an EV driver to race me, fx at a red light turning green - I always have a good laugh, when they zoom ahead with great accelleration. I know that they are looking on their big screen in the middle for where the next charger is already :D :D
people used to say "get a horse" when the automobile (with its early flaws) was introduced......but now it looks like the 'Horse' is being re-introduced as the EV. Horses had to be cared for, kept out of the cold, fed constantly, medically attended, grooming, foot care, Vet care, could not be overheated, overworked.....housed....and were a big part of your travel plans.............sounds a lot like an EV.
Is this why people don't want kids anymore?
@@noseboop4354 ...maybe, but.....the upkeep of a highly dependent motor vehicle, seems like a less human and easier decision, when there are still cars being made that are not such a pain in the a$$
Except a horse not only doubles as a beloved pet and companion, there has also be no documented cases of horses randomly catching fire. So I'd say EVs are even less effective than a horse.
@@blondbraid7986 And horses can make more horses. Battery cars just fill up landfill.
@@blondbraid7986 The odd smoker behind a horses rear end at the right time with a naked flame, may have been at more risk of catching fire than the horse. The discovery that flatulence ignites may have been a critical discovery at some point in our far distant past 🤭🔥😂
