Here’s the thing. The gameplay is fun, however inconsistent, and janky/buggy. There’s a few aspects of the game that have been making people upset. That being the world map being unfinished and that the challenges are very difficult. The challenges aren’t necessarily hard(even though some can absolutely be)but the inconsistencies of janky controls, perfect tweaks not being registered, certain rails not allowing you to crook, random bails during an hour long attempt of a challenge, ect. The world being as empty as it is, I think people are more so upset that the price point of $54-40 USD is wildly expensive for a game that in so many aspects feels like a beta or even a well built alpha. Take the next skate game for example if you look at the pre pre alpha gameplay it actually looks much more detailed than the current map and the mechanic much more flushed out. I’ve also found a multitude of areas in the game where the map just has a hole in it where you can just jump off the world. Same with massive amounts of clipping, bugs, ect. The game has so much potential and if you read into a lot of the reviews people are more so disappointed with where the game is at as of now, with the intention if fixed that they might purchase again. If the game launched in an early access or beta I think people would’ve been much more understanding at the quirks and jank. I have around 25 hours in the game and I’m having more fun as the devs put out patches optimizing the gameplay. Day one was rough and since then I think we’ve seen around 10 patches which is great to see but also showcases there was not much player testing during the process. All the being said, if someone has 40 bucks to burn and go into the game as it’s a beta, I think players would have a lot of fun with BMX Streets.

I can’t justify spending that much money for what appears to be an incomplete game. If it was even $25 I’d buy it in a heartbeat. But $40, idk. Let alone the fact that some people paid $60 at launch
Completely agree the map is just not good. Mash actually tricks you cause the starting spillway looks pretty decent and even though the layout is kind of whack it does feel like there was a lot of thought making sure the whole spillway area was utilized. The moment you leave the spillway there is an immediate downgrade in look/utilization of space and it only gets worst the further you go down the map, like you can just see the regression of the map as you go from top to bottom. As well the individual spots created are just not very fun. There's no rhyme or reason to a lot of the layouts of spots and there's nothing really interesting in many areas to ride to differentiate from other spots. All the original parks that mash created have terrible flow and maybe a couple obstacles that are fun to hit and some spots are basically unrideable like the vancouver plaza that he remade in the city area. Just feels like mash made the map big for the sake of being big. There's no real good pathway from top to bottom or even from the neighborhood/observatory to the city, just downhills for a bit then goes flat and you gotta pedal the rest of the way. And not even just also being able to clip out of the map in a lot of areas there's sometimes alleyways and pathways that just lead to a dead end ( the exit out of the bottom of skate 3 spillway has a long hallway that dead ends). Unfortunate cause feel a part of the price tag is the map itself and when the only core map is bad it really hurts the game. Also the map being so big almost makes 4 player online pointless right now until you can spawn on other players since you'll never be in the same spot unless you coordinate. Would have preferred 3 smaller maps like skate 3 that even if it was less area overall was more cohesively put together and utilized the space better

Watching more and more gameplay has made me reasons, mash genuinely cares and this isn’t how he thought it would release. I think the game will get 1000x better but the map needs to be better

From what I have seen from the game (and it's completely through your streams so I'm quite ignorant😂) I agree with the criticisms of the pricing. However, it's so good to see that the developer is listening to their community, and trying their hardest to rectify the problems! We need more developers to take on that mentality for sure

About the only complaints I have are mannys/grinds can be a little janky and theres no Superman/Superman seat grab Indian air. And i guess for how big the map is it just kinda feels lacking in spots although ill probably find more the more I play...
Yeah I agree game is fun map is sweet graphics are good the grinds/ whenver I manual itll randomly grind flat ground its awful its not the difficulty its just not consistent for $40 id expect a little more of a polish but still a fun game!
Challenging is good, battling jank not so much. I refunded it (I did NOT leave a review) and I may purchase it again in the future. It needs a lot of attention and this is yet another game that's been released before it's ready imho. The onus is on the developer to ensure the onboarding process is smooth and welcoming. I found the absence of an apparent tutorial annoying. Some challenges had descriptions when others didn't. I truly hope it's polished over the coming months and I'll be happy to jump back in. It was a jank too far for me personally ✌🚲
Dude you should have gave it more than 2 hours it's really good I think it's pretty realistic more so than the beta it's a little bit slow little clunky but I've been getting The hang of it

@@gano101 sorry to hear that you know I kind of had a similar thing happened with my triggers wasn't allowing me to do any tricks but it was registering them I don't remember I just like reset my computer I was prepared to reinstall the game but it worked stuff out. Have you tried to go into the bettas and try the experimental version instead It seems a lot better

I had to refund the game unfortunately as i couldnt get past the menu, it kept saying press A to play but nothing would happen, i could move the animated menu riders back and forth with the shoulder buttons so not sure what was going on there, i thought as im away this week get a refund and when im back I'll redownload it and try again, with all these updates there is definitely potential and looks loads of fun.
I just want a bmx game that plays and feels like Session 😔 I bought the game but refunded it as $58 aud was just too much for what feels like a early access game,not to mention I had a lot of trouble trying to get it to run smoothly, even on low settings I couldn't get a consistant framerate (playing on a gtx 1650)
People just like to bitch this game is awesome I love this game I've only had a few issues with bugs and by now they've all been fixed it's honestly( and I know people are gunna bitch about this too) a skill issue it's not an easy game but it was never supposed to be just gotta be willing to put in the time and get better most of the bad reviews are people that played for less than an hour then cried about wanting a refund

There’s literally 1 developer. And it’s gotten more updates than most games in the first month, let alone days
