Wow! You got right to the point on this, good job
Rent a Hilti with core bit, I did today from home depot, such a clean cut and still a lot of effort.
Exactly what I need to do. Thx. Watching from Ontario Canada
Doing the lords work. Hole-y work.
That’s a pretty wide diameter for that floor joist tho, hope that doesn’t sag much
Thanks bud
Can you used a plastic pipe through the wall as a conduit and then run a ridged metal aluminum pipe through that and fill the end gaps with silicone? Would that hot aluminum cause the plastic pipe to melt? I wonder in case where larger bricks are used, and so some Cement will be needed. The ridged metal aluminum I have is thin, and so want to protect that metal.
Thx I have full brick 1984 build need to exhaust microwave vent
Does it matter whether you drill the screw holes before you drill and chip out the big hole?
I would drill mounting holes after just in case the bigger hole moves a bit during the process
Fighting the pipe
Does it matter how high up the dryer vent is? I want it have it come out next to my basement window but it would be a couple inches from the ground. Is that okay.
I would try to get it off the ground at least a foot
Most building codes require the bottom of the vent to be at least 12" from the ground.
What’s a good external sealant to use
Loctight makes a good polyurethane caulk for masonry, quad caulking is good or an exterior all purpose silicone
what size dril bit is this is it 3/8 ??
Yes👍
Why not just use a masonry hole saw attachment for the brick and normal hole saw bit for the wood. Would have been done in minutes.
Those core bits and carbide hole saws are about $100 each. He's probably just drilling one hole for his own project and then won't ever drill a hole through brick like this again.
So……how do you clean it without being able to take the flappy-dos off?
The little flaps do come off👍
Lucky you didn't catch those cables
How long did it take you to cut the hole?
The brick part definitely the hard part, probably 15 minutes or so? Happiness is a new sharp bit for sure
@@GetToThePointplz123 did the job. Thanks for the information. Took me about 40 minutes to cut the hole in the brick. Thank the Lord for hammer drills.
Better than paying some guy 100 bucks to do the job lol
