  • Welcome to Mimicita's Kitchen! How to Cook Red Beans. Red beans are a staple of Nicaragua, and can be used to make Gallo Pinto, a favorite Nicaraguan dish.
    Ingredients you will need:
64 oz bag of red beans de seda (make sure they say "de seda" like these: amzn.to/3mFkMVN)
    Garlic
    Salt
    Pepper
    Goya seasoning
    Green bell pepper
    Onion
    Vegetable Oil
Cook time is about 2 hours and 40 minutes
Note: all stoves are different. The timeframes indicated in the video will give you a general idea of how long it will take to cook. A good indication of how long it will take to cook on your stovetop is to watch for water uptake.

That's what i need, an old pro showing me the ropes. Dont want to learn from a spring chicken. If she doesn't have gray hair, what does she know really.

Why do you add baking soda to the beans?
