Cracking video mate, very detailed unlike most of them Ive seen! Think what I took from this is I need one of those insulated pouched, great little bit of kit! Your new summit series gear looks top! Looking forward to seeing it in action mate! ATB and enjoy Scotland 🏴
Appreciate the support brother. Can’t wait to test some new bits of gear out when it’s really cold and of course the new tent, looking forward to testing that out. If I don’t see you in Scotland, have a good camp mate.
Thanks for the support first of all mate. Yeah, I love the summit gold colour north face do with their kit. It really stands out and pops on pictures as well which is a bonus. It’s a very good jacket. I’ve just come back from Scotland and I didn’t feel the cold once in that jacket. New video should be up this week at some point.
Always like a good kit video. Been meaning to get one done myself, just never got round to it. Lot of familiar choices. Very similar set up to my own for the minute. Nice overview that Tom.
Appreciate the support mate. I just thought it would be good to look back on to see how my kit changes over the years and who knows, it might help some people with a few things. I noticed in your most recent video, is that the RAB Mythic 600 you’ve got? If it is, I have the exact same bag. I’ve thought about selling it as I don’t use it as much as the quilt but I’m still not 100% sure. I really like the bag but I’m just not a fan of sleeping bags in general to be honest.
@@tomphythian Yeah, I got it this time last year. Its a greta bag, especially for the weight and pack size. I switch between that and my Zpacks quilt in winter. I like both.
@@IntotheMountains_ Yeah, it’s a really good bag. I got mine for a bargain from the RAB outlet shop in Derby so I didn’t really want to sell it just incase I regretted selling it because it retails around £450/500. Never tried any Zpacks gear but I’ve heard good things about most of their stuff, especially their packs. Wouldn’t mind trying some of there stuff at some point in the future.
@ I got mine from the very same shop 🤣. I sold all three of my zpacks packs and got a couple of atom packs. They are decent and very lightweight. My issue was robustness. Didn’t feel as sturdy as the atom packs for mountain use. Got a couple of zpacks tents for summer that I love
@@IntotheMountains_ I’ve just never bit the bullet and tried any of their stuff. Their tents scare me just incase the wind changes slightly because they look like a fart could blow them away if I’m honest. I’d rather just carry slightly more weight and know I’m safe but that’s just my personal preference. You may be able to change my mind on that not sure.
Great video Tom, what model is the chest pack I've had a look on the website but can't seem to find the one you have and the insulated pouch...any links would bemarvellouss
Sorry mate, the chest pack is from Wild Sky Gear and it’s the waterproof version. This is the link. wildskygear.co.uk/dcf-evade-waterproof-chestpack--6in1--51g-1590-p.asp Thanks for the comment mate, really appreciate it. ATB.
Tom, thanks for the video. Have you considered fitting snow valances on your tent? Old school but good on both hard and snow for extra pegging on a free standing tent.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video mate. Not really given it much thought to be honest. I usually just pack snow up against the bottom of the tent to completely eliminate any spindrift getting under the fly when the winds are heavy.
Thanks for watching the videos mate. I’m wearing the La Sportiva Ultra Raptor 2 GTX. I’d highly recommend the shoes mate, they’re probably my favourite pair.
You have got some quality gear there Tom 👌 i didnt realise that i hadnt subbed but i have now. Where did you get that shoulder strap water bottle pouch ? Is it Bonfus ?

Classic early bird
Bit of variety on the channel mate and who knows, it might help some people. I appreciate the support as always mate.
