    I came across this video this morning and I was blown away by what I'm seeing. As a child living in Inalende Ibadan, when playing around I used to come and spend time at this mansion at Idikan but I just use to see it as any other house then. But when I came to Europe and I have access to information about humanity hidden history, I came to realize that this mansion is part of the old world buildings that can be found all over the world. This man called Adebisi did not build it, he inherited it. That building have been where it is even before Ibadan came into existence. There are three of this type of building in Ibadan that I know off, they are Mapo Hall, Bowers Tower (Layipo) at Oke Are and this building at Idikan, they are all part of old world buildings which some people call Tartaria. Knowledge is power.

    With the likes of Dr Busari Adebisi still alive, the Idikan mansion should be a state Monument. Same to another beautiful one, the Agbaje mansion . The memories of these great, illustrious Yoruba men should not be forgotten.

    What a country? What a people? A building that should be cherished and maintained as a revenue generating museum have been left in such a deplorable state. Very sad. I am very sure when we finally get our yoruba nation this are the sorts of historical and yoruba heritage we should be proud of in yoruba land. It's true I did yoruba history in those days but I have never heard of such building do exist in Ibadan. This is the kind of mansion people are now constructing. This should be a national treasure. I don't understand why we Nigerians have problem with maintenance. Look at how decrepit this unique architectural edifice has become. Please ask for me, if they would like an investor to rejuvenate the structure and turn it into a tourist hotel or willing to sell.

Thank you for enlightening us, the building should be a Museum, and a good rags to riches story. Please do a part 2 of the inside, the building details i have seen in your video shows very opulent details and materials for the historical period, an amazing Architectural style that could be on par with other similar period buildings in Europe, and in Europe they look after such buildings, it would be great to see more.😊

    This is very impressive. I used to play around that house after my lesson with brother Akeem at Idikan in those days. The Adebisi grandchildren used to join us to do the lesson with brother Akeem. They were girls, I have forgotten their names now. I just knew back then that those girls were born with a silver spoon. They were humble and easy-going. I didn't know this story of Adebisi house and the family I am talking of 1984 to 87.

    However, I think you need to show us the inner part of the properties, tell us about his children and what has become of all that he left behind.

    Your facts are wrong. Chief Salami Agbaje's mansion at Ayeye was the first in Ibadan and Chief Salami Agbaje was the first to ride a car. The first free education scheme in Western Nigeria was started by Chief Agbaje in Ayeye Ibadan. Also, the first Cinema house and a host of firsts. The Agbaje compound including the building is several times larger than Chief Adebisi. Chief Adebisi followed in Chief Agbaje's footsteps.

      Agbaje house is not as big as Adebisi with 90 rooms she has said she will tell us Agbaje story next time let's appreciate her she came in peace font let's attack her correct her in love please

    • @alaomugari6585
      @alaomugari6585 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@princessbee2522 Actually, the contrary is the case. Agbaje was equally very rich but he devoted his own riches towards raising his own children. His investment yielded good results as his children excelled and scored many firsts. For instance, one of his children, Saka Agbaje, was the first medical doctor in Ibadan while another one, Mojeed Agbaje,was among the first set of lawyers in Ibadan. The lawyer son died in his Range Rovers shortly before the beginning of electoral programmes in 1978. It was this, what some Ibadan chiefs considered self-centredness, that made them conspired against Agbaje and he could not make it past the position of Balogun of Ibadan.
