Congrats to Manish. Happy to see someone I know win :D That was an insane final match too. Can't wait for the VoD to rewatch that one. One thing I noticed is the Carta was 13/16 red decks...even though top cut looks more diverse, their top 16 was also 13/16 red decks too. Hope we can slow the red train down soon. I am liking that Krieg tech in the G/P Doffy. I have been running that card in mine for about a month and it really helps punish aggro players.
Sad my Film Kid couldn't help make the Carta Magica pie chart a little less red. Missed top 64 with a 6-3 record. Funnily enough despite that chart I only saw 1 whitebeard and 1 law. The rest were non-red decks and my losses were largely to katakuri
@@tyroneponga8558No Krieg's in my list. I did go into the tournament feeling that Kid is slightly favored against Katakuri but ultimately it's a toss-up. Some good triggers off life like an early thunderbolt or a bege at the bottom can win Katakuri the game. I think what it came down to was that I didn't see Luffy in either of my matches against Kata, so not enough blockers to protect board and push for game with. In my second match, I played too cautiously on my last turn and left Don up to rest a potential blocker in life. If I had gone for the game with all my don I would've won. So yeah, I think Kid does well in this matchup but a lot of things can go wrong really easily
US players complaining about everyone using WB - but when you look at the pie charts, the WB usage is always higher when it’s regionals taking place in the US 🤪
Thank you for not just crap talking or complaining about Nami decks when you go over them. I see almost everyone else do this and it just feels like poor sportsmanship when I see it. I understand it's not the most fun to lose against by any means, but I don't believe she deserves the hate either. I don't actually play her regularly, although I have tried this exact deck list out several times, and out of maybe 7-10 games, I only won once with it. It's not as brain dead or easy as some people like to claim. I actually have a lot of respect for those who are able to make top cut with her. Also, whenever I play AGAINST a Nami deck, I've never found it too difficult to beat. I don't remember how many Nami's I've played against exactly, but I know I've only lost once to her. Idk, maybe it's because I play Katakuri. I'm not sure if he has a good matchup because it's got a lot of high power characters. I do imagine that decks that like to swing wider and lower to the ground may struggle to get past all her event counters. But idk for sure if that's a thing. Anyway, I digress. My point just being, I wish people would just be a better sport to Nami players and I really respect you for not trash talking Nami players :)
How is this healthy for a card game? Best decks are are from one color using cards from 2-3 sets ago. The game meta is stale and rotting at this point.
Wonder 🤔🤔 why the 3 Jozu in the stawbeard deck instead of 3 drop Luffy. If the reason is to possibly attack with Jozu, the Luffy a much better option for 5 don total investment you hit for 7k. That would be a 7 don investment to do the same with Jozu. Yes he has rush, but so does 5 drop Luffy with better numbers. Weird choice. I like to see no Red Hawks. Thanks for the video 😊
Im not sure if this is a hot take or not but everybody pretty much agrees that wb and zoro take like 2 brain cells to use right? In my first week playing on the sim i was testing a couple of different decks and would lose just about every other game. After getting destroyed by a zoro i looked up one of these tournament deck list and started going on 6 and 7 game win streaks on the sim. I mean i understand if it works then why not use it but its just some of these TH-camrs get me when they start acting like there doing something unique by adding 2 don to 4 one drops in a single turn😅 maybe other year before we see a top 16 with 16 different decks
They DO sometimes just win and punish your opponent pretty hard for not seeing their optimal curve. I contest, they STILL need insight/thought for high level situations ( but they are ALSO incredibly easy to pick up and learn the game with ).
And there are folks at my locals defending Whitebeard not being "overpowered"
My boy Albert been working on Rebecca for awhile, glad he made it to top 32

U run krieg cause im a film player and i find kata is favored for kid or was it just down to bad draws
@@tyroneponga8558def not true. I prayed I saw Yellow players with Film Kid. I won’t say it was a wash but I felt confident favorited 65/35

@@DJMilez think i wrote that backwards lol i agree with your percentage as a film kid player im pretty confident in vs katas
If you lose in the early rounds, you're less likely to face fewer whitebeards
Cool to see Holden placing again. It was pretty obvious from his interview that he's a Real one but it's nice to see it confirmed.
Im just getting into the game and as someone who built rebecca and yamato (with big mom engine) rebecca is so hard to play but soooo rewarding.
So much WB, I was playing in Carta at 7-2 and only saw 1 WB and 5 kats
Love to see Rebecca winning!!

Damn I got top 8 with queen but my list isn’t on there lol oh well great video tho like always show casing the decks
Hey, sorry I didn’t go over your list but, formally, congratulations on the top! How did the Boa feel in the build?
Amazing late game lol when your top decking

Only issue is that only ONE build tops. It would be cool to seem some variety.
Do we know how many players out of total participants played Newgate?
I do not unfortunately, I would guess 20-25%

Dont worry, red eats shit during set 5

Id say maybe the 2k factor
@@tyroneponga85583 drop Luffy is a 2k
Most of the time you don’t play Jozu. He’s a searchable 2k counter if you’re running Izou. In this case he’s strictly a 2k counter
