_Rin Rin Rin!_ 🦊🤘⏰ Doki Doki MORNING is where everything started, they got 11 and 12 yo when the group was created in 2010 with this song but the official MV (Edit version) was released a year later. The girls look so young i myself was thinking they got less than 10 yo when I met them with this song around that time. The backing band you saw here are hired actors called "baby-bones", you'll see them performing live during early shows until 2014, after that Kami Band took their places as a real band on stage. They're singing about waking up and going to school while worrying about make-up and usual girl stuff, this a metal song after all 🤘 There's an Air Dance version of this, with the girls are dancing in front of the camera in this same room. There's also a funny commentary vid made by the girls telling us more details about the backstage on this song. You can enjoy the live version of this with the Kami Band live at Legend 1999 and after Budokan 2014, they also performed this at Budokan 2021 celebrating their 10 years and even more recently they introduced the Metalverse era with this song performing and introducing some big surprise, you can find this clip live at Makuhari Messe 2023 at NLMetal. I like when the girls make everyone dance this song lol Thanks for sharing this, kitsune up and see you next time. 🦊🤘🔥
The best Metal song ever about your heart beating (Doki Doki) fast when you wake up in the morning to the alarm. Though I have a snooze button so my doki doki moment arrives with my first coffee of the day. 🦊🤘🤘🦊
Doki Doki Morning was first released on the Sakura Gakuin Nendo 2010 CD when Babymetal were still "The Heavymetal Club". It was between a couple of pretty standard J-pop songs, so it must have been interesting for that first group of young SG fans to hear it. The MV was released a year later as Amuse sought to capitalize on the buzz. The whole thing was done on a shoestring, but it was the start of the whole BM journey for the group themselves, Amuse and the fans.
Nice reaction and this was their first MV when they were still in "Sakura Gakuin" and the target audience was tweens and teens. Song is about waking up late and rushing to get to school, doki doki = excited, fast heart beat.
Haha hell yeah man, their first song ever recorded back in 2010, and a few years later, first single released. Here are 2 fun suggestions for you. If you don’t do a reaction tot these, at least check it out on your own! *1). Doki Doki Morning Live Debut (Nov 2010):* Recording, rehearsal, and Babymetal’s first live debut as, back then, the Heavy Music Club of the Idol training group, Sakura Gakuin. th-cam.com/video/lN-RlqEHFIk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AJRSlN6mchLJKhU2 *2). Doki Doki Morning with “Alternate Universe” Babymetal:* Jan 2023 performance, Babymetal introduces their alternate universe selves (Metalverse), in Marvel’s Multi-verse fashion. th-cam.com/video/JoC6sfC0Mio/w-d-xo.htmlsi=n9KHQSbCDBQgnRYL Enjoy! 🤣🤘🦊
Great reaction - as has been said, this was their very first song - recorded long before the first album late in October 2010 when Su-metal was 12, Yuimetal and Moametal were both 11. They made their stage debut with this song at the first Sakura Gakuin show in November 2010 (SG was the main Idol group, BABYMETAL was just one of several sub-units of the bigger group). This video was recorded on a shoestring budget nearly a year after the song was recorded, so the effects were not expensive ... they made their costumes up with some of their own and some borrowed clothes, the skeleton suits are black one piece suits with white tape stuck on (if you look closely you can see it peeling off). The girls were very proud of themselves - they taught the dance moves to the Babybones guys themselves so they could dance along with them in the video. Doki doki is onomatopoeic for a fast or excited heartbeat. The song is about a girl waking up late and rushing to get ready for an exciting day at school with all her friends. It covers all the traditional death, black and doom metal themes ... like what lip gloss to wear, how to get her hair straight etc, you know the sort of thing.🤘
Thanks for this reaction. It was a long time ago, I wasn't fan yet, but I'm sure the response was something like: WTF (because many of us had). And: I don't know if it's metal, but it does seem mental 🙂
This video was my first exposure to BABYMETAL and honestly, I thought it was a joke or satire that somebody created for laughs. A couple of years later, i started seeing other BABYMETAL song show up in my YT feed and i just fell in love with their brand of brutal kawaii-ness. 😂 If you haven't reacted to it yet, I recommend the follow-up song "Uki Uki⭐Midnight". Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘
The lyrics to this are important as they express a common BM theme of growth and empowerment for young girls. BM sing about the morning rush to get ready and then school and after school activities, but the chorus has the important line, "I want to see the unknown world! I want to see it!" I think this is important as it expresses a desire to grow and experience new things which is not what girls from previous generations would have been taught to do.
Nice one, thanks! Yes, his was their first song, music video, single... first everything. It was produced right when they started their activities as a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin, a larger J-pop idol group formed by girls between 10 and 15. So, in that context, the song is poppy enough for a J-pop group and also crazy metal for that same environment. Although they started with a really low budget (notice the improvised costumes of the "babybones made with white tape, haha...) they got a lot of attention and split from SG in 2013, when Su-metal graduated (aka had to leave the group). They eventually survived the group where they originated as SG ended their activities in 2021. Please keep watching until the end of the video next time (or don't cut it short). 😊 🤘🦊
First one of theirs I ever saw - I was instantly hooked but assumed it was a one-off gimmick and didn't look further than trying for live versions for a few days. Then I tripped over Megitsune and it was kinda game over for me - I couldn't get enough. Contact with them has also hideously distorted my taste in music and viewing, I mean - I'd never heard of Sakura Gakuin so what could be the harm? Just the odd tears 😂. Anyway...... Great reaction to a shoestring early BM! OH - there's a wonderful live version of this with BM (2023) "featuring Metalverse" that's a must see :D
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。BABYMETAL is singing about a school girl who overslept in the morning and got up quickly and dressed in haste asking repeatedly "what time is it now ?". "Doki Doki" signifies sound of fast heartbeat. And the girl also got excited looking forward to what was going to happen today at her school and in her future as well. Su and Moa are matured and no longer school girls, but they revived this song in 2021 shows at Budokan mimicking their own childhood voices and lovable moves with Momoko (inducted as 3rd member last year). Every audience at the venue became happy. I was there ! ヽ(^o^)丿
The first BM video I saw; my initial reaction was something like "I don't know what the hell I just watched, but it was frickin' awesome". There weren't any other videos with them around at the time, so I assumed it was just one of those TH-cam novelty thingies. (I recall thinking I hope they at least make one more video before they disappear.) Then things were quiet about them until 2014 when Gimme Chocolate went viral. I saw they'd released an album, and then heard they'd brought the house down at Sonisphere, and all of a sudden the little TH-cam novelty thingies were international rock stars. Doki Doki Morning is still my fav early BM song, though. It has a charm all of its own.
