    Just got mine (pro), on the road it's an absolute slug I can cruise along around 20-22kmh with leg power, the level 3 assistance only helps to 21kmh so no use on flats but it completely flattens hills which is awesome! I tested it on level 3 exclusively for range and managed 80-85km with a bodyweight of 84kg so not too bad! The throttle only mode is brilliant!!
    Edit: on the pro the assistance levels are Level 1 17kmh, Level 2 19kmh and Level 3 21kmh
    Moped mode is 40kmh and has cruise control if u hold the throttle for 8 seconds 👍

    Loved the video and the bike Michael, a very comprehensive review! Do you think the upgrades you suggested are necessary when using the bike for commuting and city riding only? I am a bit worried about the brakes after watching this!
    Also, can you use 3rd party batteries for this bike or does it only work with Fiido ones?

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the brakes are fine for city riding. Just noisy and that noise was rather unpleasant.

    I think if you look at what customers are saying about the Mate X you will find very few customers are happy either with the bikes quality or the firms customer service. I had one on order but their was no sign of delivery and they changed the specification so much I demanded my money back which I managed to get after a lengthy delay. I ended up with a Biwbik Allroad Traveller which is very similar but without the the rear sprung suspension. It is a Spanish company that sells this bike for around 850 Euros. I was a little concerned when the motor failed but they arranged collection of the wheel at their expense and I have had no problem since. This bike you are using looks good but not many now are saying that about the Mate X.

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Raymond, thanks a lot for sharing all that. Yeah, I also notice a lot of people being not too happy with the Mate X.
      The Allroad traveller looks great! A friend of mine looks for a similar bike and may like it. The rear suspension is not that good anyways...

    Really appreciate your comprehensive review! How was the riding experience when the motor is off? is the heavier weight of the bike noticeable?
    and could it be possible to upgrade the bike to a rigid fork?

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very good question! I actually bought it mostly because it is foldable; And I mostly ride it without the motor ON; Yes, you can feel it is heavier, especially if you switch from another bike. But in time you get used to. Major challenge is when you go uphills - feels like the front ring is too big that makes the gears not uphill-friendly.
      Overall - I really enjoy riding the bike. Together with Huawei Watch GT2 - my favorite purchases this year 😇

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi brilliant video very informative. Mine is in the post downloaded the very short vague manual which pointed to a usb slot somewhere around below the horn do you know what’s that for? Also wanted to know if you can undo the speed hack back to 15.5mph in similar way? Finally do you think there’s room to install a back pannier for carrying stuff? Ta

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Mo, good questions.
      I have no idea about the USB - most controllers have such a port - likely for software flashing.
      I believe the hack is reversible, didn't try on mine though.
      As for enough space... if this is the idea - you may check some other models with similar design and pannier preinstalled.

    Your average guy or gal doesn't want to put up with all of this crap when they unbox their fresh new bike. The manufacturer could have fixed these things from the factory even if the bike costed a little bit more.

    Cannot ship to United States. Says it all for me!
    Found the Fiido M1 shippable to the US: $1610. While the full suspension is nice, that 250W motor says flat ground only. The Lectric @ $900 come with a 500W motor, US only.

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True that - I think Fiido and Kugoo are more oriented towards the EU-market; For $1610 it makes no sense purchasing it and delivering it to the United States.
      In fact the motor is quite adequate. 250W for brushless motor converts into about 400W for brushed variation. It handles inclines better than M365 Pro scooter;

A light folder and NO the Fido L2 is not light. .it should be small both for storage purposes but also for maneuverability up and down stairs. @@TechMishka I suggest going to the site and search folding e bikes. Then find one that appeals to your needs. You'll find many with full suspension, hydraulic brakes, 48v battery, 500w motor or more. Under $1000. There's even one that looks just like the MATE for $450 vs $2000! Avg $800. BUT - shipping will be about $300. Some look just like the USA branded bikes that cost much more. I however played it safe and went with Lectric XP since it's priced right and has everything I need PLUS customer service. I think that is important. There is not the perfect bike out there from my research. Suspension is cool but not that important with the fat tires.

  • @damnbrosky

    I think this is no MATE copy , I do search Chinese wholesale bussines pages for long time already and looks like MATE is nothing else but just bike made from existing parts which are everywhere in China. You have there so many bikes looking like that and they have only different parts and names or even no name on frames. All those parts you can buy separately and build any bike you can imagine. MATE is just bike where they put bit better components and sell for bigger price. Almost every electric bike you can buy in US and Europe is build and offered there by 10 different manufactures and sell with different name, different gear, different breaks, fenders etc.

      If I remember wright there was another brand that sells foldet fat tire ebikes 1 year before MATE was founded. BAD with bike FAT BAD. MATE just copy this design and add some changes. Im not sure if this frame type was even not earlier produced in China by somebody.
