Hi guys!
I've recently released my first single, if you're interested in giving it a listen you can find it here: fanlink.tv/vRSC
Thank you so much ❤
You are not afraid of showing ur face and ur not afraid of letting ur voice be heard and i think thats very important bcuz alot of tutorial makers dont do that or its in another language, so yes pls keep going
Thank you! Was a bit shy since I'm not a native speaker, but I'll definitely keep at it!
@@FedericoFavaro oh dont worry about that, sometimes we outsiders speak better English then themselves, but nice man keep going at it🔥
I’m so happy I stumbled across this!! I finally learned it. Thank you so much for this tutorial!! This should deserve so much more attention. 🎉🎉🎉 you earned my sub
Amazing! Thank you, and great job learning!
This is by FARR the best instructional video i have seen for a song PERIOD, earned a sub here 😊
Thanks for the sub, glad you enjoyed the lesson!
@@FedericoFavaro yeah np 😝 if u see a thirteen year old play playing god u know who it was 🌚
@@Ilovecoy do let me know if you post a cover, I will gladly take a listen :)
@@FedericoFavaro I appreciate it! I’ll lyk if I post it
Dude you explain so well. Pls make more on playing God and future polyphia songs
Glad you enjoyed! Yah, I'm planning to!
This is an awesome tutorial. This was the only tutorial that i really understood inside out. Nice man, keep at it!!❤
Im glad i found your channel. You are easy to follow and learn from.
Thank you! I'm glad you found this useful!
u support Ukraine, i support u (im ukraininan)
and i agree his channel is good
Been struggling with Bar 4 for some time and now I've abled to execute with your tutorial. Thank you @Federico Favaro . You deserve more subs.
It's awesome to hear this kinds of news! Great job!
The best explanation I've ever seen! Thanks a lot
Glad you found it useful!
appreciate your efforts ....... more polyphia riffs in future bro
Thank you a lot, yah, definitely more to come!
So underrated Obviously needs more subs at least 1 Million
Ahahahahah I wish!
i subbed. This is amazing tutorial. I learn well with your style. I know it's a lot of work but if you could work on a tab display during the video im sure a lot more people would be able to follow along. but then again this song is not for beginners so anyone whos reached a point to be able to play this will find this tutorial extremely helpful even without tab.
Thanx a lot for the tutorial.....................I'm glad youtube algorithm brought me this video
You are very welcome!
this is freaking incredible, I've been terrified of learning this song, and you make it look possible, very well explained and detailed, keep up the great work!
Thank you! Often the trick is to "divide and conquer". Break the difficult song into many smaller chunks, and suddenly the song becomes 10 times easier. It's an approach you can apply to any challenging song you find in the future! (And also to actual life problems at times ahah)
This tutorial really helped me to play playing god and you broke it down which made it alot easier , keep up the good work
Amazing, I'm super happy to hear that! Great job!
Thank you! Also congrats on owning that guitar. Simply beautiful.
Thank you bro this tutorial really helped me complete the riff in full speed looking forward to the other parts and hopefully you do “chimera” soon thanks 🙏🏼
thankyou ur just amazingg..!! and the tutorial is just perfect!! 👏👏
Thank you so much Naitik!
Bro I’m so happy I’ve come across thi channel I actually understand this and I’m currently just learning to get comfortable at the riff tysm bro I’m sharing this Channel 👍 ❤
Awesome to hear! Have fun learning!
thank you
You're very welcome, enjoy!
I can't play the #2 bar. I've been playing it wrong for months coz i don't get it even after seeing the original tabs. Can someone explain it to me really well
Hi there! I'll attempt to explain it by words so bear with me, I hope I'll make some sense.
You can see bar #2 as alternating between melody and bass.
On one hand you have the melody, which is all of the high notes that are played on the top 3 strings.
On the other hand, you have the bass, which plays in between every note of the melody, and always plays the same note (8th fret on the low E string).
Try to set the video at 0.75 speed and listen to the part of the video where I play bar #2 at half tempo, so it's so slow that you can tell every note apart. Focus on listening to the melody only, and then pay attention to the bass notes that are played in between them.
Once you have gotten familiar with that, try to follow along the bar #2 explanation again and I hope that it will make much more sense.
If this approach does not work for you let me know and I'll record a video to go more in depth about this bar
lmaooo ive been struggling since the past 10 mins to realise it was the video it went from bar #3 to bar #5 and i was like wait, where's bar #4 hahahaha cheers man, its ok. Awesome tutorial :)
perfect explanation! you have earned my suscription bro! keep shredding bro
Thanks bro! You have fun learning!
This is an awesome tutorial, but I’m a little confused on the fingering for the right hand. Maybe new video? Other than that it was great. You just earned a new subscriber!
That's fair, I didn't think about the right hand at all. Mostly because everyone has different preferences with their picking so what works for me won't necessarily work for you, but I can make a video, why not
awesome.. I subbed. You explained this very well, thanks man 🤘🤘
Wow, thank you so much!
I honestly think playing god is easier than the worst, is that crazy?
Definitely not crazy, different people find different songs more or less difficult depending on what they are used to play :)
I haven't trying learning the worst, all I can say is that it sounds easier than playing god to me, but I'd have to learn it to say for sure!
@@FedericoFavaro oh man, a reply from the man himself!
Yeah I can't do that e minor without muting a few snares, my index just cant do it lol. Playing God is more techy but atleast it can sound good.
@@efrayen4497the worst is just so hard to play 😭
It depends on the teacher!
@@riki_XD Such a wholesome comment, thank you!
Questa si che é qualità! Lode a te!
Grazie Enrico!
This is so wonderful and helpful, thank you so much! You are a great teacher and a great player. 🙏🙏🙏
nice easy to follow I can play it slow only took me about an hour to learn it thx
Great to hear! Thank you!
@@FedericoFavaro do you have any other polyphia tutorials 🤔 can you male some?
@@thrb3st Apart for the whole Playing God tutorials series I don't have any other Polyphia tutorials, can definitely work on some in the future though. Currently I'm mostly working on my own songs (released Liquid Quartz a month ago and currently have another couple ready that will be released in the following months), but I will get back to covers and tutorials soon enough for sure
Sounds good im your #1 supporter@FedericoFavaro

Hey bro thx for thid vid, can you make a lesson of the worst and goat?
Amazing tutorial man.. salute to you🎉
Glad you enjoyed! If you'd like to learn the rest of the song I have tutorials for all parts except the very last one (I'll get to recording it eventually ahah)
please make more i promise if you do videos like this you will blow up
Thank you for the encouragement man! I definitely plan on making more lessons like this, stay tuned for more!
If possible make more lessons you are amazing ..got a q have you ever try Sunset tim henson part?
Actually the next lesson for playing god is coming out in 10 minutes!
I've never tried playing sunset, but I'm writing it down, will check it out in the days to come!
@@FedericoFavaro thanks ..looking forward for sunset
awesome tutorial mate!
Great structure to the tutorial
The part at 4:10, so, the two harmonics on the higher string and then the picked note... you run with a sweep over three strings right? I was actually wondering if another way to do it would be to use hybrid picking twice, so that would be middle finger and ring finger to fret the harmonics instead and ending up with a pick.
I actually even think Tim does that. Sounds crazy to me! Anyways, if sweep is what you do, you know what, that makes sense to me.
But in any case, your lesson is golden. Please continue that, wonderful!
Yeah, that can totally work too! I used to play it the wayyou say actually, but I'm very imprecise with my ring finger so I ended up sweeping it instead and it works better for me. Will have to work on my hybrid picking to make it smooth that way too!
Glad you're enjoying the lessons, cheers!
its a shame that views are counted by page refreshing because i have watched several hours worth of this 10 minute video, thank you
Thank you for watching! TH-cam actually cares a lot about view time so thank you so much for this!
ive only been playing for a couple months, why am I trying to learn this 😭😭
@@HotTripod78 best way to improve! Just, if it ever becomes too much, move on to something easier and come back to this song later on. No shame in taking a detour!
@@FedericoFavaro true! I've been trying to learn the Million Dollar Baby cover by Tim for a few weeks now. Still stuck in the same place 🥲(the higher note parts, I can play the beginning riff pretty well)
Thank you so much!
yes pls doit . i am kind of beginner if its possible can you provide visual for tabs? if not i can help for that
Thank you, I'll keep the lessons coming!
As for tabs, I don't think I would be comfortable writing my transcription and sharing it here because the band sells their official tabs at this site: polyphiatabs.com.
I'll think about it
really helpful video, tysm bro
Glad you found it useful!
Check out part 2 too to keep learning the song!
Thank you!
please tell me about the guitar ?
I love this video! But in the future can you really enunciate the string? Sometimes it is hard to distinguish what you're saying when you call out a string. I can't really tell if you're saying E string or B string. Other than that, this was phenomenal.
@@Jordanthegreat111 thank you! Yeah I'll keep that in mind in the future
Hello,i just wanna ask if playing w a pick is better or playing w fingers r better for this song, which one is easier or which one simply better?(my english is terrible)
Anyway great vids, easy to learn and follow.Thank you
Hi! Personally I find playing with both a pick and fingers theeasiest way to play this song. If you are a classical guitar player though you might findit easier to play it entirely with your fingers. I know that Tim Henson plays it with hybrid picking (both picking and fingers).
Your English sounds perfect to be honest!
You're welcome, happy to help!
Complimenti tutorial chiarissimo
Grazie!
Earned a new subscriber and now im dying to get the nylon
Thank you so much! And I completely get it, I fell in love with this guitar at first sight too!
Love the explanation! what guitar are you using by the way?
Thank you! Guitar is Tim Henson's signature Ibanez TOD10N
What are your nails looking like for playing this hybrid picking type of stuff. I have longer nails but they get in the way especially with the 7-7-8 ebg string harmonic parts. My fingernails seem to get stuck when I get there.
I'm pretty sure I had grown them a little to play this song. But it's all a matter of experimenting and finding the ideal length for you really. In my case I grow them until they are just past the tip of the fingers so they are long enoigh to pick with them, but not so long they get in the way
Hi Sir , can you make part 2
Hi! I have made part two, check my channel!
I subbed rn. It was worth it😊😊
Thank you sam, I appreciate the support! The tutorial for the final arpeggio of the song will be out soon so I hope you'll enjoy that too!
@@FedericoFavaro Thanks man, I'll be waiting for it eagerly as I'm done with all the other parts in the default tempo. Even the main riff. Couldn't have done it without you....😁😁❤
hey, I have almost mastered the main riff but need improvement for the bpm but ill love a video for the ending riff, i got through the whole song besides the ending.
Hi there! I'll keep this in mind and notify you by responding to this comment when I get to recording a lesson for that part of the song!
thanks you !!
Thank you for watching! Hope you find the video useful!
2:35
How do you do multiple harmonics at once at the end of bar 2, I can't get that part consistently at all.
Hi Artem, to play them together the left hand does a barré with the pinky finger and the right hand plucks the strings with middle and ring finger
Bro, we need more parts
Thank you! Yes, just give me some time! It takes me hours to record and edit these lessons and I have a full time job so I can only find time in the weekends, trying to post a new lesson every week 🙂
It would be so much easier if you had put the at least half speed clip of the 3rd bar before the last because now it’s just way to confusing
0:52
Is there a name for the picking style? Im trying to wrap my head around using the other fingers on the right hand 😅
Yeah it's called hybrid picking! Basically you use both the pick as well as your middle and ring finger
@@FedericoFavaro ty!
what type of guitar is this id love one
@@sleepier8931 it's an electro-cassical guitar with piezo pickup!
The main models in the market are the Ibanez TOD10N (the one you see me using), the ibanez FRH10n and the Cordoba Stage
My hand is too small for 8th fret on E and 13th on b, what should i do?
Hey there, you could play 10th fret on the D string instead of 8th on the E. It's the same note (C) an octave higher. It's not gonna be sounding exactly the same but close enough.
Then as you keep playing your hand might develop more flexibility and allow you to play 8th on the E string. If that does not happen, you can consider eventually buying a guitar with a shorter scale (aka smaller frets)
Hope this helps!
Is this in standard tuning or what?
@@_X4ND3R_ yup standard tuning
Yo explain to me the 5th fret in g string in bar 5 pls
Hi there, it's a natural harmonic, if you don't know how to play that try looking for a video tutorial, it's a bit difficult to explain in words
What tuning is the guitar in ;,)
Standard tuning!
Bruhh we need tabs
I cannot provide those! However Polyphia sell official tabs on their website, do consider saving up and buying them!
im so confused how does your e strng sound like that im in tune and it just sounds flat compared to u
@@hmll2249 I think my guitsr might have some intonation issues, where the open strings are in tune, but if I play, say, the 9th fret, it's slightly off tune
02:35
How do you slide from 7th on d to 14th on g?
Ah I think this is a misunderstanding, you don't slide from 7th of D to 14th of G.
First you play 7th on D, and then you do a slide on the G string that ends on the 14th fret. It doesn't matter which fret you start the slide on, main thing is reaching the 14th fret through a slide.
Hope this clear things up :)
Slide from 8th to 14th of G
How did you get that muted low E sound at 1:39?
I'm not really sure how to answer this, I'm not sure I understand the question, could you elaborate?
If you are asking how to play muted notes, you need to put the palm of your right hand on the strings, right next to the bridge of the guitar, but I'm not sure if this is what you wanted to know
@@FedericoFavaro The low E sound you did at 1:39 was different, like it stopped abruptly. I thought you might have did a muted note. Or am I just wrong and my ears are playing with me lol
@@YeastsaeY Yes it's definitely a palm muted note, you are completely right
@@FedericoFavaro so you mute the string with your right hand?
@@YeastsaeY Yes exactly, just make sure to do it very close to the bridge or you will stop the note entirely :)
What guitar is that? I want one
It's an Ibanez TOD10N :)
4:05
it’d help a ton if you could put a tab on the screen
Thank you for watching! For Polyphia songs I'd rather not do that because the band itself sells their own tabs, so it doesn't feel right sharing my transcriptions.
In the future when I make lessons of other bands' songs I'll definitely add them though
@@FedericoFavaro oh didn’t know they sell that. Thx for the info 🙏
@@GoddamnAxl You're welcome! Thanks for understanding :)
@@GoddamnAxl yes and sometimes they can remove them on videos
what tuning is this?
Hi loren, this is in standard tuning :)
What's the tuning?
Standard tuning :3
careful, they might take your video down
Am I a god for being able to play this after 3 hours or am I not the only one?
100% a god 💪
the 8th fret on e thing is stupid i dont like how it sounds
You can technically play the same thing on A string 3rd fret, but you need to have some HUGE hands lol
@@FedericoFavaro wait ima try it I'll update if my tiny little baby fingers can pull it off
I did NOT think that through lmfao
