  • This was taken from an instructional VHS tape that came with my Braun Espresso machine which was given to me as a Christmas gift in the early 1990s. I've had it for over 25 years and it still makes a great latte!
    Model: Espresso Master
    Type: 3062

Andrew, thank you so much for going to the trouble of converting the VHS video sharing it on this channel. I had a Braun coffee maker also for about 25 years. I just found the Braun espresso maker at a thrift store and your vide helped a lot. Thank you once again.

I just got a Braun machine from a thrift store too. I have found I need to use 7 grams coffee grounds to 45-75 grams of water. Way more water than newer espresso machines. Any tips of how to get a good espresso crema?

Thank you for posting this. This espresso machine is one of the few things i have from my mom from when she passed away when i was a kid. I never knew how to use it so i just sort of kept it around out of sentimentality. Just tried it (after a thorough cleaning) and it still makes a great latte. Thanks again.

Thank you very much for sharing this excellent original instruction video on the Braun Espresso Maker. I just bought a Model 3061 from Goodwill that appears to have never be used. It looks just like the one in the video, except white. Now I know how to make my first cup of espresso.

I've been very surprised and pleased to see how many people have found this video useful! I just uploaded it for nostalgia's sake when I was bored during lockdown at the beginning of COVID.

Thank you SO much for sharing this! I have a machine very similar to this one--I think it's an earlier model--and have struggled to find any sort of information about it online.

In the Summer of 1999, I worked at a Linens N Things before my first year of College - and the day before I left work for starting school, the Manager gifted me a Braun Espresso/Cappuccino machine because once heard me telling someone how I thought that it would be an excellent way to get laid - invite a girl up to my Dorm Room for a Cappuccino and I'd be Big Pimping. I was so happy, I had never been so excited or proud to get a gift.
I never once figured out how to work it.
I actually got a few girls in bed who were like, "All I really wanted was a Cappuccino, but this thing is fucking hard... let's just go to bed...."
    Seems legit.

1 question; your instructions say NOT to tamp down the coffee grinds before clamping the holder in place. I found that when you do that the stream of espresso is NOT evenly coming out of the two nozzles; 1 it comes out of fine but the other it starts out in drips and drabs before EVENTUALLY coming out in a stream equal to the first nozzle; classic sign of unevenly distributed coffee grinds, which is why you normally use a tamper. Your thoughts please.

Just to be clear, these aren't my instructions, it's just the video that shipped with the machine. Having said that, when I prepare my coffee I do tamp it down a bit, but I've never really paid attention to how the coffee flows since I always use the carafe. I'll have to pay more attention the next time I make one.

Any idea why they say not to tamp? I've had this for many years and recently drug it out, but couldn't find my manual (which I since downloaded). In the meantime I ordered a tamper and a 2 cup basket, since it's hard to level for 2 cups in the provided basket. The instructions don't even tell you to level, which is important. They are not here yet. We will see how they work out after they arrive. Even entry level machines cost too much for me to replace this.

I'm not sure why, but I have always lightly tamped mine to level it out and have never had a problem. And I've been using it off and on for about 30 years!
