The majority of NBA players are tone deaf when it comes to the fans. There’s no appreciation for the fans anymore, load management proves this.
🎯
And y’all gon keep watching so no point of crying about it tbh
@@daa_97I hate your statement but you aren’t wrong
@@daa_97true, keep buying their merch too 😂
That's why I don't go to games. Chances are the stars won't show up and lame games still cost a lot. I would love to take my kids but I rather use that money on a vacation. Screw the NBA.
KD's comment was a Direct comparison to how fans get over *TEAMS, cutting, trading & letting players go in Free agency.... Yal took his comment out of context *Purposely, just to create a topic just to bytch about load management which, I can't remember a time KD sat out for load management smh
That part. The media just mad kd don’t f$&k with them but he definitely loves the fans. They may all about his burner accounts but it’s his way of engaging. Hell I might be the same way if I was on like bruh 😅
He’s never sat out for load management.
Bingo. These mfs just want to hate and be negative as always
No they didn't You're just white knighting for KD lol
Man I’m not a Kd guy but he never load managed. Even to a fault. This mf was clearly injured at GSW and went on to rupture his Achilles almost in spite of load management
This is why I’ll always be appreciative of legends like Jordan, Kobe, Magic to name a few. They were considered the best in their era but they never took a day off and always perform for their fans. That type of integrity and attitude is long gone and I don’t see this new generation of players ever showing the same commitment to the game and the very fans that made them millionaires.
LeBron too
@@johnnyblingg The madman played 82 in 2018 lol
Ummm they didn’t take a day off because the owners pressure them to go out there for that money
You don’t see it but if you a great player they definitely but the same work in if not more cause now everyday off their life is in the paper.
@@hiitsme3039 nah it competitive nature. the tenders never had to ask them to play
I think Kd was talking about Dame's trade rumors not the load management part
Yeah they went on a load management rant lol
Does it matter? Does that make what he said any better?
@@CBrown saying the organization doesn’t take fans feelings into account when making business decisions, then fans will eventually move past losing a fan favorite is not controversial….
It’s the same thought process that goes into load management
@@tomstorm7926 no it’s not the same. Acknowledging fans will be ok because they have more loyalty to teams then players. As opposed to fans will be ok wasting there resources because they was mislead is no where near the same convo. Plus KD wasn’t saying the second thought
In one sentence they don’t want KD to have burner accounts but when he speaks his mind now they want him to shut up and dribble you can’t have it both ways.
BINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
@@ojoj5194 you can’t make this stuff up 🤦🏾♂️
They not saying shut up and dribble they just disagree with wut he sed...I think they want kd to talk he give them material Lol got a whole ep off wut kd sed that good business 4 them🤷♂️
@@7thswordsmenofthemist nah..more like kd s punked them
Stockton played 19 seasons. He played ALL 82 games 16 seasons. Players today have ZERO excuses.
and he never won a ring. Kawhi load managed and carried a Raptors team to the chip.
@@roycedotawhi would lose against Jordan too. But overall…yes, Kawhi is way better then Stockton and statistically carried the raptors better then Stockton ever could.
Typical hater. That’s why the players don’t care about y’all opinions
These guys brought up Karl Malone as a moral compass😂😂....I love 🏀, but at the end of the day it's just entertainment....players are highly paid entertainers, nothing more or less
@@WalkingWalletexactly…. People forget it’s entertainment!!! These analyst/ old sports heads still believe in the integrity in sports…. Like it’s the last things up holding it’s realness….
I remember during his first season with the warriors, he told the media after a game that if the fans don’t like what their watching then they can change the channel and watch something else. I’m not making this up, he actually said that publicly in a postgame interview. The man does not care about the fan’s opinion or how they feel. I’m sure he’s not the only one either but the difference is that the other players that agree with him wouldn’t say it out loud.
he is honest though
this is what the difference is between aaron rodgers and tom brady and michael jordan and lebron.
And y’all keep watching 😂
They didnt stop watching though. The fans care about themselves too. Many fans think the players should do everything they way THEY want them to do it and that's not how it works. They're there to play basketball, all the extra rules and regulations fans put on the game is irrelevant and unnecessary.
That's usually what one do when they don't like what they see on tv. You idjut
It's about the team. Just like football. We go to watch the team. The media made it centered around players.
Stern did. NBA needed a pop of life in the 80s & that's when it became player-centric.
No the NBA helped with pushing individualism in the league when Jordan came out.
NBA has always been about the players.
@@johnnyblingg It began with Magic and showtime Lakers and Bird.
@@michaeldemarco2415 No it didn’t. They were still pushing a team narrative, it was when David Stern took over and MJ took off that it became more player-centric.
I literally think he was speaking from the aspect of owners trading star players. They’ll trade them in a heartbeat not thinking about the fans
Thank you. What is the difference?
That's strange they didn't comment on the first part of his statement, when KD said fans move on when players are traded so what is the difference. Also as many vacations as Rob takes he's the last one who should be talking.
2-3 days every few months is the equivalent of NBA players having 4 months off??
Ron is also a college professor
KD is echoing the actions of the owners. They might not say out loud that they don’t care about fans, but they really don’t. They trade stars without any concern for fans
You don’t have to care but they all need their money.
@@carlsagan2607 I agree, I just think Rob & Chris are going after the easy target, KD, when they should be going after the owners. It's not KD nor Lebron that caused Rob to pay $2k for 4 tickets. So who is that really doesn't care about the fans when you look at those ticket prices while allowing load management?
they definitely care. Without fans, they don't make money
@@roycedot that’s poor logic, they care about your MONEY they don’t care about you liking what they do.
As another example, alcohol companies don’t care about your life or well being. They only care about getting you to buy more and they’ll cut corners, and serve a lesser product if they get it for less.
@@rickyrobby8133 the money comes from the fans. If there are no fans, there is no money. Not hard to follow.
Kevin Durant doesn’t care about the fans because he feels like he’s been mistreated by everybody and that’s ok! Should he have said it? Absolutely not. Does he sound condescending? Absolutely. Does he care? Hell no he doesn’t. Most players feel the exact way he does but they wouldn’t say it publicly or even privately. But KD just doesn’t give a damn.
He cares enough to get into dumb Twitter spats with them
Oh boo hoo yea he's been treated soooo bad 😂
Man please. For the most part, KD is right. Fans move on. We do it all the time. We might be ruffled a little at first, but we adjust. I didn’t find offense. He was telling it like it is.
All of this back and forth between fans and players confirms my belief that the stars of yesteryear wouldn’t be able to handle playing in the social media era. There might have even been serious physical confrontations 😂
KD is speaking on fans as a whole not each and last individual fan. Watch as a stadium of fans move on from Dame and on to the Scoot Henderson era. It happens every time a franchise transitions from one era to the next.
What are they supposed do? Cry and sulk? Duh
@@chadwoff7892 No. They are going to do exactly what KD said they are going to do. GET OVER IT.
The teams can “tank”, trade, sit guys to avoid contract escalating incentives AND to load manage players themselves but when the players decide to move on from teams because the front offices aren’t the best at building winners, they’re looked at as selfish. Players only ask for trades when they have incompetent front offices and they’re fed up with living a losing narrative. Lastly, the fans do get over these transactions. It’s plenty of fans that enjoy mediocrity when their front offices refuse to build winners. Every owner doesn’t want to build a winner
I agree.
Teams r employers, players r employees. Get that through ur head 😂
@@PhoenixPicks_that has nothing to do with what was stated. This is about public/media perception.
@@PhoenixPicks_ and you have bad and employers and bad employees. Media only speaks about the “bad employees” when they elect to switch organizations for the employer with the better management.
If that's how they feel then the league needs to get rid of these super-maxes that can only be given by the team that drafted you. What's the point of paying more than anyone else if you can't keep the player anyway?
Maybe I'm just playing devil's advocate but am I the only one that sensed the sarcasm in KD's comment?
I agree we as fan shouldn’t be take for granted. We pay to see you play.
They play for their families not the negative “fans”.
@antoniocartel8177 YOU stop paying you’re the one crying. No one will ever notice 😅
They should send KD a hand-written note thanking him for off-season content
These 2 are not even talking about what KD is talking about. This is why it's clownish.
these same guys say “I’m just like you, I hate my job” while making 9 figures. Wealth makes people delusional.
They twisted KDs words. He said the fans will move on from Dame…which is true. The future is bright in Portland. It’s all dramatics coming from these sports “journalists”and that’s who KD was talking to.
Excuse me...Excuse me....TH-cam is not the place to be telling the truth
Yes the fans booed Bob Meyers when Monta Elis was traded now who cares. Rob and Chris took KDs comments and started talking about load management which KD never mentioned
Rob KD is right sir. Everyone hated his move to GS well most people and that was some of the highest rated NBA FINALS!!! So he is Absolutely right old man stick too baseball. Rob Parker “the whiniest man on sports Radio”.
How did this conversation go from talking about trades to load management?
I think player empowerment in getting out of control.
If they want to change teams, they can sign shorter contract and just move on when the contract ends.
What about when the teams trade players in the middle of their contracts?
@@19934 facts
@@brian6816 Play better & you wont be traded, boy !!! 'o'
@@19934when they get traded they still get their money they don't ever get screwed over. Plus the maxed guys like dame don't have to deal with being traded mid contract it never happens unless they demand to be traded so your point is irrelevant. Nice try though.
Or give up some of that guaranteed money
It’s comments like Durant’s, along with the load management & unpredictability of player availability on any given night that has led me to spend my money on MLB tickets instead of NBA.
Bye
Same here. MLB's product is far more fun and enjoyable for fans, and there are lots of players who are actually likable and easy to root for. The NBA has none of those things right now.
and you're watching a video about the NBA
"Y'all lucky you even get to watch us play"
No one cares bro lol go watch that BS
The idea that the blazers getting 2 first round picks vs 4 first round picks is going to impact fans so much is comical…the product on the court will still be great. Fans will move on. That was KDs point.
Rob isn’t in a position to call ANYONE tone deaf or detached. He hasn’t had a take in decade that doesn’t sound like an old bitter man. And he’s been fired MULTIPLE times for saying out of pocket things, that’s tone deaf…
what’s the multiple times?
his contact wasn’t renewed with ESPN after the RG3 comment, but please list these multiple places he was fired from?
@@johnnyblingg he got forced to resign from the Detroit News for what he asked the Lions coach in 2008. And he had been suspended before that for his inappropriate questions. And “not renewed,” is dishonest to say the least, he was suspended from ESPN in December, in January they said he wasn’t coming back. The fact he contract ended at the end of the year was a coincidence, it wasn’t a plan they agreed to just because.
Rob has made a career on saying things that are controversial and cross lines, it’s what he does. To pretend it isn’t makes you just as full of it as he is.
Just wanted to say i appreciate this show, Chris and Rob is the best duo in sports entertainment
I wish you appreciated me
Lmao
Kevin literally communicates with fans everyday and shows like this tells him not to. The media is out of touch. Kevin gives more to fans than most professional athletes and gets crucified by the media for it constantly.
Its funny how y'all think KD hate the fans when he's literally one of the only players in the league take the time to respond to fans, hop in they Twitter space, or be in people TH-cam chats talk. He's the only one that does human interactions and like one of us. I think that's amazing a guy who's nearly a billionaire chill with your regular everyday people and dresses like one too
Fans are out of control esp with their disrespect for players. I have 0 issue with players standing up for themselves who cares what loser fans think
Still shouldn't load manage because of a few a holes.
Exactly. They are more hateful than ever f em
There's a reason why I rarely go to sporting events. The tickets are astronomically priced. Beer is $20. And you've got players who couldn't care one bit that you spent huge sums of money to bring your family to watch the game. If it's too cold outside, baaaaah, I'm not playing today! Ok, well I won't come to the game. Keep messing around and I'll find a way to remove the expense from my cable bill too!
Chris and Rob took that statement totally wrong
Their not the sharpest. I thought Chris might bring them back to the actual topic but he fell for Robs strawman argument
I must have misheard the part where KD said anything about load management
For sports media and some fans to hate kd so much he sure pops up in a lot of titles and topics on these sports shows
That’s a fact
Rob out here wearing a strip club hat and don’t even know it…
The comparison to a regular job is RIDICULOUS. They’re putting their bodies through WAY MORE than we are.
Thank you.
And they are paid way more than we are
@@soda8736 I’m not saying they aren’t paid well, but the jobs are totally different. The same way my job isn’t the same as working on an oil rig. They aren’t comparable.
Sports show analyst/commentators giving 'personal' takes on athletes could be the issue.
For the most part, KD is right. Fans move on. We do it all the time. We might be ruffled a little at first, but we adjust. I didn’t find offense. He was telling it like it is.
The problem is, why would Durant care...he's already got the $$$$...he just doesn't care.
To their point about teachers, most of the teachers o know of had to work a side gig over summers. And during the school year, they are asked quite often to dedicate their free time and own money to make their classroom and lesson place enriching and engaging. Definitely one of the main reasons why the American education system suffers when it comes to lower income communities and teachers are in constant labor disputes
If anyone knows about being out of touch and tone deaf it's definitely Rob Parker.
Chris & Rob forgot the topic and decided to focus on load management. 💀
Rob Trolling with the Magic City cap 😂
Kd is absolutely right fans owners or players dont think about fans when it comes to business and why should they most fans dont have an original thought they just regurgitate what the media and talking heads say it was the media that turned team sports into individual thing
I wouldn't expect someone who was coddled since he was a teen due to his playing to be in touch
Two things came be true. The players dont care about fans and also Rob and Chris created a strwaman argument just to complain about load management which KD wasn't talking about.
The title of this is hilarious
I remember the late -970s, tape delay, and general fan apathy. It happened once, it can happen again.
KD is right. Chris and Rob y’all are wrong. I don’t see y’all going after ownership groups and GMs the way y’all come after players .
If people genuinely think us Blazers fans will just move on if Dame leaves, they won’t understand we have a different appreciation for Dame. He could’ve left when we got swept by New Orleans but he sadly believed the front office would help him. We won’t forget what he’s done for us and we hope that if he goes to Miami we hope he wins a championship, Scoot might be good but we won’t just forget the moments Dame gave us for 11 years
Stop it lol. Fans loyalty is to the name on the front not back. If that’s not the case then stop watching the games. But you won’t. KD told the blood raw truth. You won’t forget Dame but you’ll move on because you’ll still watch & root for the Blazers. Simple.
Most of NBA fan money comes from China, this is a fact, hence why there is a disconnect about fans and where all this money is coming from.
Not sure if Chris Broussard will ever read this, BUT, if you are reading this, EQ your mic settings to compliment the higher end of your voice. It's a bit too harsh on the higher end.
He’s not tone deaf, he just dgaf lol. Honestly organizations don’t care much about fans they care about the fan’s money. Ticket prices, jersey prices, even the cost of a damn hotdog at the arena doesn’t show me that teams care about the fans.
I've never understood how Durant has so many fans. He's always been a moody, feminine, nancy boy - and he's never been that fun to watch as a player.
Because people hate Lebron or Curry so they find ways to prop up KD for no reason.
Because clearly people don’t gaf about your opinion and they like him
KD speaks reality. The context is Dame leaving, not the overall state of basketball. He’s talking about Portland fans will deal with and get over it like they always do. You can’t take his statement about Dame, which involves Portland fans, out of context. Derozan was traded & he wanted to be there. Fans moved on. One minute Warriors fans love Jordan Poole, next seasons he’s the most hated player because he stunk in the playoffs. Fans turn on players in a hot second. The fan/player relationship is purely transactional. Play up to our expectation, we love you and you can’t ever leave. Don’t play to our expectation and you’re trash that they’ll trade with no hesitation. Play good but someone is better they’ll divorce you. I got no sympathy for fans who spend money they don’t have on overpriced tickets, jerseys, shoes in worship of entertainers. Consumer slaves because they are addicted. Same folks who will quit their job cause of a better situation take it personal when an athlete does it. The hypocrisy is mind numbing.
If KD hates rhe media and fans so much. 8 am sure he has enough money to quit and go live his quiet lonely life. I am sick of this rich enetiled man complaining all the time.
He clearly miss the point 👉
Or he can keep getting his money and say wtf he wants while you cry about it 😅
Imagine if you paid $300 for your favorite musician, and instead of the lead singer, it's a paid backup cover with no notification or refund. That's what it's like
Chris & Rob your the best sports talk analysis in the business, bar none !
‘96 I got to see MJ & Bulls vs Clippers at Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim. Today a star may sit that road game out.
I think a big difference is that many of these players grew up through the AAU system. Because of that, they were never "just a fan" the way normal people are. So they have lost that perspective, at least that is how it seems.
Larry Bird had double achilles and back surgery. The next season he played in 75 games. He would retire three years later
True, but back then there was no where near as much money in the NBA than today, not too mention all the player sponsorhips/deals. So players had to actually play to get paid.
What a novel idea. "If youre paid to go to work, you gotta go to work." Larry Bird
Fr they want these players to run themselves into the ground because they’re obsessed with them
Stop going to games people…put some respect on ours pockets
From the people who brought you “don’t tell me to shut up and dribble!!” bring you “shut up and just watch the game and like it!”
Shoutout Chris he goes on littl podcast and treats them with respect
Based on what I've heard. Most of the times load management is not primarily a players decision. Even the top tier super star elites like Steph at times get overruled by other people in regards to taking a risk and playing when he shouldn't. I do agree that it sucks when the players you want to see aren't and Rob is right about the refund thing. But a lot of times it seems like it is the team's doctors and management etc that is telling these guys to sit out.
KD was spot on, fans are dumb
Growing up I was a Dr. J fan and the few times I was able to go to the games I would have been devastated if he wasn't playing!
I agree with KD. the only thing that pissed me off was the Sonics leaving Seattle. Rob is out of touch. The media always blows things out of proportion.
Stockton played smthg like 15 seasons all 82 games... Thats for respect...
Social media is the 👿
That was one of the few times the TV guys made a point
Thought KD was Robs guy. I remember rob saying it was over for Bron when Nets got Harden 😂😂😂😂
He turned when KD got swept
He has the right change his mind or no? Yeah, that's what I thought.
The funny thing about kd is he is by far the most interactive athlete when it comes to the fans. Maybe top 5 in history. Look at how often he engages with fans on Twitter. At the end of the day he is validating them and peaking their interest by commenting back towards them and he gets called soft and sensitive for it🤣🤣. Plus kd has literally never load managed
Go at the commissioner for saying it doesn’t effect the game or fan base. It is bs
I’m a teacher & I don’t agree with what they said about us having to be there just because we have summers off. I don’t get paid enough to be there everyday & the fact that Mr. Broussard said that is a bit disappointing. I truly don’t even take days off but I don’t support the idea that just because we have summers off we have to be at work everyday. A large portion of teachers work 2 jobs or do seasonal work during the summer to supplement the lack of pay.
If I got paid 6 figs or closer too it, I would have a different opinion though
Kevin is actually correct !! Ppl have short attention span, this is not the 80', 90's or the early 2000's when fans actually cared..it's the same as baseball during the home run derby, ppl was really into it, but after the congressional hearings that oust all 4 home run hitters , ppl lost interest and baseball hasn't been the same since....and that's FACTUAL 💯
I need more context with that blake griffin story. Was this after the injuries or before? If it was after i can see why the clippers wanted him to load manage but if this was 2011-2015 blake griffin i would agree that the team was wrong.
I like the fact Durant talks to the fans instead of being stuck up unlike some of these others superstars as fan of the NBA we need give him his flowers for talking to the public.
But fans aren't going to stop lining his pockets, so he has a point.
Facts lol.
KD must not remember how his Nets Fans were rooting for Steph in KD Arena
They think it's ok to miss games let's see how ok it would b if fans missing or sitting out games n they see their checks after dat
I mean you have a choice pay the price for the ticket or Sit your ass at home and watch it!!!!😆😆😆
Rob & Chris definitely have a point but let's be honest fans have shown the can be delusional and entitled a lot of times too
He made one good point.:they will move on.
It wouldn’t be the NBA without KDs burner accounts..😂😂
not surprising for a guy who can't win without people who REALLY love the game and fans ... kerr, curry, etc
THE MEDIA: 'SUPERSTARS DEMANDING TRADES IS BAD FOR THE GAME' ..
ALSO THE MEDIA: 'DAME DOLLA SHOULD DEMAND A TRADE' ..
The funny thing is they're trying to say something that Kevin Durant didn't say. The media refuses to acknowledge whenever these players are saying something about them because they want to deflect all negativity. It's like the athletes of today can't say anything anymore. If that's the case you can't really be mad at that woman for telling LeBron James to shut up and dribble then if we want to go down that path
He’s right I’ve seen fans stay with horrible teams for years 🤷🏾♂️
R.I.P SPORTS SHOES omg it’s lose lose for modern nba players. we ridicule kd for ring chasing but in the same breath ridicule dame for being loyal.
It's a players' league. If the players force the owners hand to let them play, they'll let them play. Load management "may" be an idea pushed by ownership, but it'll end if the players want to end it.
This is why sports media is not taken serious lol how did they manage to change the topics to load management? Haha
No here is the real deal also free agency was a needed welcome thing but it also kinda ruined the player/fan relationship because the connection was lost! They don't stick around now they team hop!
Is y’all mad he said it or that it’s true?? 😁 I can’t tell
Imagine defending a snake, pathetic
The truth hurts their little hearts 😔
I think teams and League itself have entitled players to the point they just do whatever they want , they play when they want to , they get traded when they want to where they want to if not they’re unhappy
I’m not mad at a veteran player who injury prone load manage they wanna play deep into the season.
I don’t think load management is a good thing for the game.that’s very disrespectful to the fan.But I don’t think it’s fair for a fan to move on when the organization does the same things the players do.
" you think people wanna buy $400 tickets ...?" etc ...well guess what? fans KEEP buying them no matter what so why WOULDN'T k durant feel this way?
no matter how lousy the game is and how many games they take off these players KNOW clownish fans will keep paying for tickets and cable etc
When coach pop was sitting tim Duncan Tony Parker n manu some games no one got mad
