Important Information
1.You need to upload BIL in pdf format as received from IRCC. A scanned copy is not acceptable
2.Date and time will be allocated on a 1st come 1st serve basis
3.You can do booking only once with BIL and if you fail to visit VAC, you can do a new booking after 5 days
4.Can’t reschedule or cancel an appointment

Hello i have applied for my parents biometric…does they have to pay premium service of each other separately or just one premium service of around 3300 is required? They both are applying together
Hi Santosh, we are not sure on this as we haven't availed premium services, we chose normal services at no additional cost. You can get this information at Visa Application Centre(VAC), as fees have to be paid there only; VAC representatives will tell you the amount.

It's showing BIL already used and still not getting any mail of appointment?
Have you applied for Biometric appointment? It will show BIL already used if you have taken appointment using the BIL.
Also check your spam folder for Email
In case we aren’t able to show up on the appointment given what happens next ? Since we cannot reschedule appointment
In an event that you are unable to attend your biometric appointment at the allotted date and time, you will be blocked from requesting an appointment for 5 calendar days. After 5 calendar days, you may raise a new request which will be served on a first come first serve basis.
there is an error while uploading the BIL its say's 'Invalid file' please can you suggest any solution?
This error comes, if BIL is not correct. Is the BIL scanned? or it is just as it was received?

Hello, I applied for my parent's visit visa- using my dad's BIL as the first one uploaded. Unfortunately they could not attend their appointment on the day. Now I am trying to book again after a month but I was only able to upload mum's BIL and receive an appointment date for her. When I try to upload dad's BIL I get an error saying "duplicate application number..". Both of them submitted the application together, how can I get a biometrics appointment for my dad too? They are both seniors and it will be hard for them to do the entire process separately. Happy to hear your thoughts. Thanks

Reading your comments, it seems you were doing the appointment separately. That's the reason it might be saying duplicate application as you need to upload BIL of your parents under one appointment.
We can choose number of applicants as 2 and then upload two BIL's together. Did you try this or you booked appointment for your's mother separately and now trying for your father?
If so one suggestion would be to not attend the appointment and it would be cancelled automatically and reapply choosing number of applicants as 2 (as shown in the video as well).

@@loonietales Hi thanks for your reply! Sorry I was not clear- I applied for their appointment together in both instances- a month ago and this month as well. The system does not seem to be accepting only my dad's BIL - so I did select no of applicants as 2. Looks like it is a technical glitch that only I'm facing! I'll get in touch with VFS, appreciate your time!

For Canada spouse biometric do they take away passport on biometric day.
Because I need to do my medical test their passport is required.
No, they dont take passport, they will return them to you, you just need to carry the passport for verification
Please tell me during uploading BIL it shows invalid file format what we have to do for booking apoointment
Make sure you don't change file name while you download it.

I don't get BIL direct from IRCC. The VFS gobal send me the BIL PDF I upload the same PDF bt it shows invalid . Please tell some solution.

Did you change the file name?
Just keep the file name same while downloading.
When we can get BIL from Ircc, Is It gets after completion visa application form.
Yes, when you have submitted the complete application form to IRCC and paid the biometric fee.

hi sir i launched the file 15th september my biometric date is still not received i mailed to ircc the reply came that submit free receipt if you don't have free receipt i did that too it's been three four days still no reply so what do i do
Hi Shailesh, since you have paid the fees after thee application, it will take some time. IRCC recommends to pay the fees when submitting an application and that time BIL is generated instantly. Wait for sometime now, it should be generated in few days/month.
IRCC website mentions this:
You must pay the biometric fee when you submit your application, or you may experience delays.

Yes, BIL will be auto generated. You will get it after filing permit and giving Biometric fees.
Now it is taking few days only to get appointment. We got in just 3 days
