      @@marylongoria4974 I think the consensus now is that as long as it isn’t a C-section and no major tarring happened you are allowed to do things at your own pace. It is going to depend on the doctor. Some doctors still follow those ideas but now it’s trust your own body. At least from what I have seen but don’t quote me as I never have had a baby.

    About your plants!: You should trim your trees in the early spring time before they start budding. This is about where the energy is in the tree. You want the tree to be able to heal itself and pruning it (and most anything) in the summer when the energy is low in the roots will open your trees up to rotting and disease.
    Your tree looks like type of Ficus/Fig tree. If that's the case you will have to keep its natural bulbous shape but you can absolutely prune back the softer outer branches into a bulb shape. If you shape in winter and then lightly again in early spring then you'll encourage new growth and it should fill up the gaps nicely.
    Also, if you want those apples to ripen fully you need to strip some of the leaves off so that the fruit is exposed to the sunlight. The sun will generate sugar production and you will get better tasting apples if you thin the leaves

    You completely have me in awe! I love watching you work, like everything is no big deal. I’m 65. My generation, women didn’t take things like this on, we “supervised” our husband. Which really means we were the brains about how to do everything but he got the credit because he physically did it 😂.

    • @Lucinda_Jackson
      @Lucinda_Jackson 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +13

      I did these things (I'm 68). 🤷🏼‍♀️ My hubby was useless at things like this. If you handed him a screwdriver, he'd ask, "Now which way do I turn this thing?" No kidding. EVERY time. I did it all unless it required brute strength or more than 2 hands and a foot. About half of what I'd start out to do, he'd tell me wasn't possible. Couldn't be done. All because his brain couldn't visualize and he didn't understand mechanics.
      Oh, and none of this struck me as odd, because my mother had done many of the same kinds of things herself, too. My dad also wasn't naturally mechanically minded or "handy" either. But he was more willing to try and do what my mother directed if she needed help. They were married in 1950.
      AND, my mom's mother was a doer, too! Even though he was an engineer, my grandfather wasn't particularly handy either. He designed highways. My mother told me once that my grandmother wanted to reconfigure their downstairs and remove/open a wall between two rooms. He wasn't enthusiastic so he told her he thought it was a load-bearing wall. So she asked him to go up to the attic and look because she was certain it wasn't. He put it off and put it off and she finally had a look herself and, without really knowing what she was looking at, decided it fine. She went downstairs, grabbed a sledgehammer and started smashing the wall. THAT lit a fire under him and he went straight up to the attic. She was right - it wasn't load-bearing, and she finished demolishing the wall. They were married in 1928.

      I also did these things. I’m 67 years old and was a farmer’s/building contractor‘s daughter (the 4th of 5 daughters with no brothers). I drove tractor and wheat truck for my dad, and had to service my own truck. I also worked in my dad’s shop, helping him build things for clients. I have remodeled 2 homes, and am now on my 3rd and 4th (our main home and a summer cabin). My husband was a city boy, and didn’t have a lot of skills, but he’s learned them from me. He also washes the dishes and does laundry, gardening, and cooking, so he’s great!!! 😊❤

    Such a beautiful picture you make with Cade and Kinsley, resting on the chaise! Being back in LA with Romeo, finding your real home together, working to make your new house into the home of your dreams, and now motherhood. With each of these, you have glowed brighter, smiled sweeter, laughed more joyously and grown more beautiful. You're such a lovely person and deserve every one of the blessings you've received. I love that you said "ladies, do not underestimate yourself". Ive been wanting to move around my lounge for a long time. It means relocating the wall mounted tv and getting rid of 2 sofas. Ive been putting it off for ages as I have a chronic illness and I know it will mean that I will need a few days to recover from the physical work. Like you I want to do it myself because I want it done a certain way and to my standard. My teenage children will help me with the lifting but hubby can't as he's waiting for a shoulder replacement. Now today I'm going to do this. Thank you for the inspiration. Love seeing you both with babes. Goegeous. It reminds me of when I had my first son. I was also classed as an older mum when he was born as I was age 31. I was 40 when I had my twins. Xx

It will need to be fertilized regularly since it’s in a pot. That goes for all your potted plants but 100% for anything that produces fruit. Flowers and fruit take a lot of energy to produce and maintain for a plant. Congrats on the apples that’s so exciting!! We have a 15 year old apple tree and she is glorious

    I love that you didn't jump right in to help when Cade cried, but let the guys solve it themselves. I'm sure Romeo is more than capable! But it's lovely to see when it actually works out that way. Sometimes new dads get too scared to make mistakes and sometimes new moms just can't resist the urge to jump in, and that's very understandable, but still nice to see when that doesn't happen. If that makes any sense.

    Yes, MaCenna has a new vlog. Stop everything and sit and enjoy. You really need to be on TV...you have the beauty and personality for it and so much to offer. Your videos are so much more aesthetically pleasing and beautiful than MANY other channels. Someone should do a spotlight on you ...like 60 minutes but for home renovations and design. Tell your story. Okay, now I'm just dreaming.
