U R a Great Teacher!
I identify with ur so-called imperfections when talking.
My mind goes all over the place too..lol
I've been a quilter for over 50 yrs. & I have learned from you~in point about
which fabric ends up where at stores.
Thanks for doing this tutorial, I know many will become quilters because of your great
skills.
Thank you! I really struggle with my words and my thoughts sometimes! Ugh!
Honestly Christine, I am learning so much here on how to have perfect squares. Thank you for all this information.
Oh, wow! Thank you so much!! 💖
great video. I really like how you go step by step and not rush through it all.
Thank you, Sharon! The last two videos were a little longer than I hoped for, so I'm glad the step-by-step stuff wasn't too annoying...LOL!!
Hi Christine, great tutorial. Ya I finish viewing all of them. Thank you and have a nice weekend , I am going to the campsite. Hugs. Francine
Thank you, Francine! I hope you are having a wonderful time camping!!
Thank you… no wonder my blocks and quilts are always so wonky….. I tried to make a 2” strip log cabin block for the first time. I tried so hard to cut accurate and sewed a good 1/4 in seam… it still turned out wonky! I I’ll try again
I'm so glad you talked about pressing seams open instead of to one side. I wanted to try pressing open but talked myself out of it. I think I thought maybe pressing open would give me a more accurate size block as I sometimes have trouble getting my blocks to the right size. Great tutorial as usual Christine!!
I always press them open! Well, except for this quilt...LOL!! I know pressing them to the side was the norm when I started quilting, but my blocks lay so much flatter this way when I press them open.
I'm so impressed by your talent. Much love -Gen
Aw, thank you, Gen!!
No questions, since I still need to get started (end of school year finals and now dealing with a water leak 🙄), but wanted to say that I loved your nails. ☺️ oh, and with no quilting experience, I just signed up for a paper piecing class at my local quilt shop! (Pineapple quilt). Go big or go home!
Good luck with the finals and I hope the water leak is an easy fix! I ended up putting nails on for Josh's graduation. They were on when I started the video and by the time I ended it I had them pulled off so I could sew a little easier...LOL!! I LOVE that you signed up for the paper piecing class! Let me know how you like it! I think that is such a fun way to make quilt blocks!
Your tutorials are great, Christine. I will have to refer to them once I get all the knitting done. You never know ...maybe I will start sooner. LOL
Thank you so much, Susanna! Sometimes the projects are too tempting to put off... and sometime the projects and supplies we have on hand are too tempting to ignore...LOL!!!
Thanks.
I've started mine. I'll have to post insta pics when I'm done. Doing a baby size and just need to press and trim. Funny how little actual sewing occurs in the sewing process :D Whole lot of cutting and measuring and pressing!
After I read your comment I realized I hadn't even posted pictures on IG! LOL!! I finally got one up yesterday. So ridiculous! And, yes, that's one of the annoying parts of quilting to me! I just want to sew, but if I want my blocks to look good I know I have to do the other stuff. That's one of the reasons I tried so hard to get that scant 1/4" down when I was learning it. I can not stand trimming up blocks. It's one of the things I dislike the most about quilting. You have to do it a lot less if you get that scant 1/4" down!
I'm just at the point that i need to trim... I think I'll save that for tomorrow... im not looking forward to it! lol
I totally understand! Truly! LOL!!
Did you raid my collections of jacked up pins? LOL! I am horrible about removing them when sewing. And, yes, finished is DEFINITELY better than perfect!!!
It's funny, I can't find one pin that isn't slightly curved. I've jacked all of mine up! LOL!!!
Great video. Great information. I have quilted but I can always pick up and use a few new tips - thank you.
Thank you!!
To much talk.!!
Dora Camarena You can speed up the video, fast forward it, or turn it off and don't watch it. But leaving a comment like this is unkind and not helpful. I talk a lot to explain things. That's who I am and how all of my videos are. Not gonna change that.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Something to think about before leaving a rude comment on a video made by a person who is trying very hard to teach people how to make a quilt. You should be ashamed of yourself.
