    Been having issues with our 125 and using Seachem tidal filters. Corals except for softies all died. I hate these hob filters. I have an extra fx6 and fx4 from our old freshwater systems. Everyone says canisters are a pain for reefs, but this method seems to make it much simpler. Very tempted to drag them out and ditch the tidals. Thanks for this!

      You are very welcome! Don't listen to what others say. I will admit, I was skeptical, but I'll tell you what...my tank is much cleaner and more clear and I only have to do maintenance like in this video once every 3 months. AND IT'S SO QUIET! There is also zero salt creep. Way too many pros here. Go for it.

      Trust me bro the fx4 or fx6 will work amazing. I stuff mine with ceramic bio balls and seachem matrix 0 ammonia and never pass 10 nitrate. Just open it and rinse it all out with old tank water once a month.

    I like canister filters in general, do you consider put Purigen in them they last for ever clear the water better than carbon

      From what I have seen, yes. But, I use one of each. Not carbon too much.

      What's up dude! Yeah, super easy and super clean. Would have been faster if I wasn't filming a video for it. Doing this once every 3 months for both canister filters....and in the meantime, there is really nothing else to do except feed the fish and do water changes.

    I use two of these on my 150 gallon freshwater overstocked tetra tank. Pot scrubber foam pads work also as I’ve seen this idea online. These fx6 filters are the goat. Where do you get the foam sleeves from?

      Here are the sleeves. I put links in the video description. amzn.to/43SY9ml

    How are the leds working out for u?

      @ROTTERtube  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      VERY WELL. After I got a PAR meter, I dialed in the lights and things are good.

    And any nitrate issues? All I ever hear are canisters are nitrate factories for salt tanks

      @ROTTERtube  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nah, because I clean it, and I'm using a larger filter, and even using 2. Bottom line is, I don't let stuff collect and my bio load isn't that large. Ever see those videos where people don't clean their stuff out? They have nitrates. I have less nitrates now since stuff isn't collecting, like it did in my sump. That was nasty. I hated that. I was lazy and didn't feel like emptying the sump out every week...that's what you'd need to do. So much nasty stuff in it when I removed that. The nitrate thing is the same if you don't change out filter socks, clean your sand, feed too much, etc etc.

      @@ROTTERtube very good points. I may drag my fx6 and fx4 out soon. Thanks again!
