I will NEVER FORGET THIS DAY lol this was the best most organized chaos I have ever experienced but only if every band that was suppose to participate came. Southern, Grambling, and North Carolina A&T were suppose to be there. It was a bad storm that weekend.

it wasn't really a place competition, it was a showcase, ASU just blew everyone out. JSU tried then ASU did what they did but better.
I am a fan of Alabama State University, they did very well but I also like other great bands such as Jackson State University, Southern University, FAMU. Some of you all are getting too caught up on " my band is better than yours" Come on people you all represent a great legacy in being apart of awesome and wonderful bands of HBCUs. Take pride in your school but no need to hate on others. I love to see any HBCU band perform well. Just my take on things.
If you were there, then you'd know that JSU was packing just as much heat as ASU! The only reason why ASU sounds so loud when they face JSU is because there is a wall to the right of JSU which sound was bouncing off of.. JSU's total sound was much better than ASU that day..
You know as I watch this..I try not to be biased. I am a MMH 99. I will say this ... ASU does need to clean it up a bit. However, this is a song writing for power and volume not a ballad or a 70's tune where musicality is the focus. Its a rap song!! JSU sounded ok, but it wasnt fuckin spectacular! ASU pleased the crowd and thats what its all about. ASU is regaining popularity because they give the crowd what they want!! Thats why they are growing in size. We are far from the bottom!!!!

I totally I agree with that comment. Everything that is loud doesnt sound good...but you have to give props when props are due...plus the crowd decided the winner was ASU hands down...and thats the untrained ear.

Why did JST "react" the way they did if it did not affect them in any way as said in the statements prior to this unless it did?I love this piece simply because it shows all, don't bit off more than you can chew

Im mean actually, JSU is just as loud as ASU and they half they size. Rewind the clip right after ASu turn towards the front and youll see that JSU is jsut as loud. I give it to JSU hands down.
Well being from atlanta, and being somebody who has played in memorial stadium in jackson, bragg memorial in tallahassee, crampton bowl in mobile, aggie stadium in a&t, and legion field in birmingham. HERNDON stadium turns your sound up. Its like a natural amplifier that makes your bands sound 10 times bigger
Facts! Herndon is essentially a bowl, with only 2 escapes: up or out the only open end of the stadium... that sound bounces around like crazy in there.
it means they're not apart of an actual conference
they stand on their own ex: savannah state, north carolina central, etc.
