I saw them in 2010 at a theater that sits across from my apartment on Wilshire Blvd in L.A. The El Rey. My daughter, who was 20 at the time, was a fan. I was 55. My wife and I loved the show, and we both became fans. There is some amazing music that has been made in this century, and that is certainly true of Taylor and his band.
"It's a little bit of everything" most definitely, especially these days. I'm so grateful to music and the grounding rod it provides. "If you can give yourself to someone, then you should"
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
The days of great lyrics are still here! very nice guys.. This reminds me of the music I used to listen to out of my parents vinyl collection...Neil Young, & Bob Dylan, you don't have to have an amazing voice to produce amazing music...I could go on but I'm going to hit replay, lol.
Ive listened to this song over and over...the lyrics are nice, yet folksy...but his voice...Goldsmiths voice complements the lyrics and makes them the powerful words they are. I am forever addicted to the guitar sound...but the keyboard is the instrumental star in this song...and it is wonderful...for me, this song is like m&ms and popcorn...something different, something great, it works...so I will continue to enjoy it again and again!!!
Just saw them tonight as warm up for Bob Dylan in BGSU. Great music. Great show the drummer kicksass. Great finger pickin on guitar too. I loved their show.
we doesn`t really need all of one, just little bit of everything make us free in our souls. so share anytime and anywhere you can a you will grow up to a peacemaker...
AHHH! today i was telling my girlfriend my first dog is gonna be named Elias (from the dispatch song) and my second dog will be Dawes. :D good to know i'm not too crazy
I only learned this song 2 days ago, and I'll love it forever; I think it, some by the Avett's ("No Hard Feelings") , Jason Isbell ("White Man's World," "If We Were Vampires") rank up there with John Prine's "Sam Stone" or "Hello In There" or Kristofferson's "Pilgrim."
Some of the most incredible lyrics in today's music. The melody is Jackson Browne/Avette Brothers, which isn't a bad thing. The picture painting that the song creates is both deep and exquisite.
The curly haired guy on the right is awesome. What a talented, understated artist. Kinda makes me feel like I could be a musician too, and I can't play a damned thing...
@snoey : I saw them in London in July this year with Jonathan Wilson and Jackson Browne, but I hope they will be back again. What a wonderful band. Incredible. Other bands would commit murder just to have written this this song.
LMAO that's the band's drummer and backup vocalist. He also happens to be the singer's brother. Admittedly, there's not a lot of percussion in this number.
nice. if you like americana, try TRUTH AND SALAGE CO. you can get an idea of what they're about by listening to songs like Pure Mountain Angel and Call Back. but yeah, dawes is defo good from thr heart music. i've no interest in whether or not you listen to em or not, recommending.

The piano is stunning on this track... subtle and amazing... great band!

Every time I hear this song I lose it, I have lived every part of this song, and now I am living their song "if I wanted someone"
one of the best songs i've heard in a long time
I love the way he is getting into his words, this is my new favorite song. So sad and true.
It is amazing to know how such simple, true, heartfelt song can affect us. Thumbs up to Dawes! THANK YOU GUYS
Can't get enough of this song.
Great song. You don't hear stuff like this anymore :(
If Neil Young and Jackson Browne could have a baby................that is awesome. These guys are one of my new favorites for sure.

I just love that they out perform their album. nothing is better than a band that is better live
this song is so smooth and sad and lovely. I am glad it exists.

What a great song by an amazing band. These guys have a sound I just can't get enough of!

I love this band, they are so talented.
He might just be the best lyricist coming out of rock right now
We have a winner folks, wow, simply wow.
Fantastic version of a beautiful song!!
One of my new favorites
Just saw them tonight as warm up for Bob Dylan in BGSU. Great music. Great show the drummer kicksass. Great finger pickin on guitar too. I loved their show.
This is very true. They are fantastic live!
It has been a month since I've heard this on the radio until tonight. How do we get this more main-stream? I totally vote GRAMMY!!!
I love feeling goose bumps!
They just make amazing music. Can't wait for KXT Summer Cut!
Love it just as it is. Clean, beautiful.
we doesn`t really need all of one, just little bit of everything make us free in our souls. so share anytime and anywhere you can a you will grow up to a peacemaker...
There is nothing more attractive than a man who feels things the way this man does.
This brought me to my knees.
i just love this shit out of this song. great performance, too!
Very stimulating and moving.truely wounderful.

@snoey I have always thought the same thing. Last night I saw these guys live and Jackson Browne came on stage to join them in a song! Fantastic.
AHHH! today i was telling my girlfriend my first dog is gonna be named Elias (from the dispatch song) and my second dog will be Dawes. :D good to know i'm not too crazy
Saw them as a warm up to Dylan in Champaign. they were GREAT!

God's Speed to you boys of Dawes! I am in love...

Ya don't hear lyrics like this no more.
It awesome song! It touch my heart too, even my gf.
J'adooOOÔOOoore ! VV
Seeing Dawes Wednesday at The Capitol. Just can't wait! Brilliant!
Pleasantly surprised to hear these are "Valley boys"(North Hills, Ca.).
The curly haired guy on the right is awesome. What a talented, understated artist. Kinda makes me feel like I could be a musician too, and I can't play a damned thing...

@shadycat77 awesome, thought the same exact thing the first time i heard this song
hey i saw them that night in portland! they were even wearing the same clothes haha
Great stuff! AWESOME!
SOMEONE listened to a lot of Warren Zevon and Jackson Browne...
okay that pianist. never the same without him, in my opinion
same for me; and in a positive way; I understand he has performed with them
that dude sitting on the right contributed a lot to this performance
LMAO that's the band's drummer and backup vocalist. He also happens to be the singer's brother. Admittedly, there's not a lot of percussion in this number.
wow
Reminds me of Jackson Brown 40 years ago, Nice!
@morgaffi He's the drummer.
i'm pretty sure that i've heard this in my baptist hymnal some were lol.
When I first heard this, I thought they mistakenly put a Warren Zevon song on the album. But it's so much better than that.
someone should give that curly haired dude a tamborine or something ... great song. I'm addicted to it
These guys belong at "Levon's Barn"!!!
+Kayt P These guys did play at Levon's Barn.
grizzly adams did have a beard
Dawes is amazing! Check out the duo, THE SUBJECTIVE PERSPECTIVE. Google em'. Another amazing sound and energy!!!
First time I heard this song I thought it was Jackson Browne, Dawes is amazing...
The first two verses are really sad, but the final verse is really nice.
@thombombb We do not blaspheme Zevon, but Warren is somewhere smiling as he hears this song.
like!=)
@pdxsooner that's the piano, obviously. The voice is very J.B.
Reminds me of Warren Zevon, both lyrically and musically.
Jackson Browne would be proud. Either that or he'll want a royalty check.
@shadycat77 the ghost of Warren is smiling on Taylor
They are Simon and Garfunkel contemporaries.
I just turned on the transcribe audio (captions). The poor deaf people have no idea what the hell is going on.
This song goes good with sum Weihenstephaner!
@snoey I hear a lot less Neil Young than Warren Zevon.
Any one else think his voice is very Elvis Costello in this performance?
This would be a great anthem for OWS ( Occupy Wall Street)
I think they sound like Dawes. We need to stop comparing to the past, in my opinion. Lest we under appreciate the bands we are comparing.
nice. if you like americana, try TRUTH AND SALAGE CO. you can get an idea of what they're about by listening to songs like Pure Mountain Angel and Call Back. but yeah, dawes is defo good from thr heart music. i've no interest in whether or not you listen to em or not, recommending.
Show me the evidence.
