      +Trudragon88 That really was it for him, he was a guy who needed a good protector and without it you all know what happened

    I didnt know much about Spinks had always been fascinated by Tyson but you only need to hear spinks speak and his aura of a kind heartedd articulate gentleman comes through (albeit an amazingly tough athlete!). God bless the man after having faced the adversity of losing his wife etc and raising his child/children on his own.

    Tyson was very smart even at 20 yrs old...he quoted " if I break my leg we all stop getting paid" what he meant was everyone was kissing his ass because he was the showcase and if that wasn't in the equation so called friends would say bye bye!

    Poor Michael Spinks was scared out of his mind. But he got that paycheck though. I don't blame him

      Amazing that a pro fighter that beat Larry Holmes 2x was scared stiff against Tyson

    What an event this was.
    Tyson was the youngest heavyweight champion of all time and the Undisputed WBA, WBC and IBF heavyweight champion.
    Spinks was an Olympic Gold Medalist, the Undisputed WBA, WBC, and IBF light heavyweight champion and dethroned the 48-0 Larry Holmes to become heavyweight champion.

    If Tyson would have never fired Kevin Rooney and kept training with teddy atlas he would have gone down in history as the greatest of all time he could have been 60-0 instead of 54-6

    This video had 34 likes and 0 dislikes. Mike Tyson's record was 34-0 when he fought Michael Spinks.
    Now I liked it and its 35-0, which was his record after defeating Spinks. Is that just co-incidence?

    0:36 the opponent threw the fight for sure. look at his feet when he fell down. the same thing happened when he fought mark young. some of them got an easy pay day

    He was just a boy without a father...it's no wonder he fell under Don King's trap. Can't blame Tyson...he eventually learned for himself.

      John Michael I always thought if Tyson could've hooked up with Holmes or Spinks and Butch Lewis after this fight, he could have steered cleared of King and Distractions and gone 60 and 0.

    Every body here are concerened abt staying undefeated for all his life...
    Well as a sportsman i can understand that greatness is not abt being undefeated... its abt how much u gained when u were at peak... simply not quantity.. but its the quality which matters... once u get to the top... u loose interest...
    Tyson became the youngest heavy weight champion without any trouble.. he got there so easily.. so he didnt cared after that...

    I 👂 hear people say tyson fault a bunch of bums to get to the Top...but yet an still he defeated undefeated champions....spectators, bench warmers just love to talk shit💩🙊

  • @thehitchrules
    @thehitchrules 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    He fully mastered the techniques D'Amato taught him. What are you talking about?
    Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion ever precisely because he MASTERED the techniques and skills instilled in him .
    He had a short blaze and post Rooney sacking it all turned to shit but don't get it twisted . He did not fail. He absolutely achieved .

    I agree ali was too old to fight Leon properly, but even a young ali would never beat tyson, ali himself admitted this on the vid: "Ali Tyson on arsenio hall" look it up

    Please. He did not become a 'different human being'.
    D'Amato died 10 fights into his career (or thereabouts). This was the same 'human being' who destroyed Spinks in one round, who lost to Douglas, who went back to crucifying semi-bums before going to prison, and who went back to crucifying semi-bums (and losing to good fighters) after prison.
    The Tyson adulation is very tedious. He was an exciting, but very flawed, fighter.

    Spinks was a dingy boxer, can't believe they thought he was a match up I guess neither was mcneeley or buster Mathis Jr.

    • @drtroyturner7464
      @drtroyturner7464 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Genuwine6799G Well to be fair Spinks was unknown vs a good Tyson who by accounts here had new management and unrest plus a man child whereas Spinks was all Man Veteran who seen it all and had Spink s Jinx. As Foreman says Undefeated fighters don't know how to lose yet. Spink was the fastest lightest Tyson opponent so something different. Even years later, Spinks is talked of glowingly as a light heavy GOAT that Hagler didn't really want to see.

    Keep digging !
    You can't back-peddle now . Your comments are out there !!
    I think you got angry and decided to get it off your chest .
    Your limited knowledge, poor articulation skills and general sanctimony will always let you down . Do your research and then get back to me .

    @arsenalcobain
    What does Cus have to do with it? What does Robin have to do with it?
    Cus was dead when this fight happened; Tyson was WITH Givens when this fight happened; and he destroyed Spinks, regardless.
    The excuses Tyson fan-boys make are absolutely pathetic.
