    nice explanation. what about pile load capacity calculation when there is an effect of water table. please do one video to show how to calculate bearing capacity factors, overburden pressure such as sigma base and sigma skin.

    At 15 .10,in case of individual failure for a pile group,Qug=n*{CubNcAb+CuPbL}
    but u have written only for single pile failure as Qug.

    Sir there is one doubt.....the load carrying capacity in case of block failure will always be greater than that of individual pile....so min of these two will always be that for single pile...then why do we calculate load for group of pile

      SURENDER SINGH it is to find whether it is going to fail in block or as an single unit I think so.

      The load carrying capacity of individual pile had to be multiplied by no. Of piles and then take min of them ....

      Ab and As depend on the pile

      Ab is at the base of the pile. for a circular pile, it will just be the area of a circle i.e. (PI*(d)^2). For As, it is taking the side profile of the pile into consideration, there for it will be the circumference of the pile times its length i.e. PI*d*L.
