Maybe not as exciting as ronaldinho, not as dynamic as ronaldo, or smooth as messi, but the overall skillset...

Zidane has used this mechanic deliberately. Its not a mistake, but you will see this type of thing happen by mistake even to pro's, and recognising what it feels like , and what happens when doing these mistakes, can help you actually develop them into deliberate tools. No coach will EVER teach you to do this move though, as it requires extremely good touch and , well, a lot of people can't do this kind of thing. I can , but with something like this you have to choose the right time to do it, and the right situation. Zidane was a master, possibly the greatest ever, at using the right trick or technique for the right time and only at the right time. ---- Learning from great players: I honestly think people can learn more from a player like Zidane than from someone like Messi. Messi is for sure the best Wing Forward I have ever seen and a special player, but he is the perfect build and size to use his skill set, Zidane was an all round player that was ultra technical, and anyone can learn from watching his choices on a Football pitch (with the right attitude and obviously a good foundation in playing football). Most of what he does a big medium or small guy can take something from and apply it to their game. Although a lot can be learned from Messi , if you are much bigger than him, its going to be hard to apply it in the same way. Also his strengths are not so much about choosing the right tool for the right situation, and more about having a strong set of tools to unlock just about any defence

It gives tempo and the team have time to place themselves knowing the ball is secure In a 90minutes games where players are running for 10 miles it's really precious and can help winning drawed or lost matches
