If you enjoy checking out Bangkok and other SE Asia spots, consider subscribing. I'll continue to make videos showing the streets in Bangkok and beyond. Thailand is amazing and a great place to visit, work or retire. I'll do my best to show you how to live affordably in SE Asia. Plus, enjoy some great side trips from Bangkok.
That Yonex shop looks like a badminton/tennis equipment distributor! Blown away by the beautiful brick house you walked by and the Tara Restaurant. Keep it up Joe!
I'm not sure about a river taxi. There was a private pier. But, in the three hours I was there, I didn't see one in the area. Of course, most don't run after dark
It was a decent meal. I'm all about a more local place. The food is usually incredible and affordable. But, this was a birthday dinner. So you go where she wants to try. I'd go back, but it's a quite area. I like the energy of Icon Siam. They have some nice spots to eat, overlooking the river
I can help you ,nam si = clear soup tom yum= with peanut chilli and lime ,then nam tok with a shot of pig blood.belive me tom yam style is the best.....my husband and I have noodle shop in koh Phangan 🎉
Me too, but often times a car won't come, if they don't want to deal with traffic or flooding, etc.. On this day both Bolt and Grab said it was a 30 plus minute wait. I waited 15 minutes and was cancelled. I ordered again. It said 33 minute wait. After 10 minutes, they got a better deal and canceled. I had to meet someone for a dinner reservation. The bike was the last option. I use the trains for most things. Including the airports. Especially during rainy season. I gave myself an hour and 15 minutes to go 11km. I wasted 30 minutes waiting for cars that didn't show up. The bike ride was long, but it only took a 5 minute wait and a 20 minute ride. I could have took the train to Saphan Taksin, but that was still 6km away from this place.

That soup is delicious. Thanks for the info
My cutoff for motorbike taxis is 2km. Anything longer than that I'm calling a car.
