When I was being taught arc (stick) welding 40+ years ago, both of those welds shown...plus using the wrong (too thick) size rod... would have been given failed grades.
using 6013 on a thin metal is one heck of a thrill bro, tha ks for sharing your technique as here in our place we hardly see smaller rod, so that 6013 is mostly our option, watching this gives me more hope
1) Yes, that first weld looks very familiar to me regardless of the direction I am going! 2) I thought that you were supposed to scrap slag not beat it.
Awesome tip thanks, im going to try it out next time i do thin steel, for the guys who dont understand it is to work down the side and not up the side, the 70A is a given for thin metal with 2.5mm rods. 👍😉🤗
I believe angle of the rod is actually the most notable apart from momentarily allowing it to cool. The shallower angle applies less heat and less chance to burn through the edge.
The secret to welding thin metal is TIG, using a small diameter tungsten rod, and lower amperes. Most Tig welders also have a pulse + ramp up current control.
Also a smaller diameter welding rod would help. There is no reason for the weld to be 400 % thicker than the base metal it's like pulling a wheel barrel with a tank.
Karel, its actually done by using less amps and a thinner rod. The rod shown is more than 2MM, yet the job is only in 1MM plate. Such a thick rod needs high amps to get it to arc and flow, by which time the plate of the workpiece has blown a hole. This is why hes a "dabber". Instead of dabbing at it the action needs to be continuous driving the weldpool forward. The way hes doing it is dabbing it, and drawing the rod away from the weld. This type of action is all wrong, but beginners do it and think theres nothing wrong with it.
@@wateringflower In this day and age you would probably need to order and buy by the box. In my youth i started to learn sheet metal welding by fixing holes in mine and my friends old cars. All i had was a stick welder, fancy things like MIG had not yet become available to the DIY'er. I found a box of really small rods from memory they were not much more than 1.0 MM. I found i could turn the Amps right down, and the amount of blow holes almost disappeared! These people on TH-cam dont understand welding or how to do it competently, hey, they are just having a go! I understand it works for them, but the right way is the best way.

Tinggal gmn tangan kita mengolah menaruh menatanya 😁😁😁😁
Take a piece of metal and put it on the weld table. Adjust you desired amperage. Rub the stick to this piece of metal in quick repetition like a matchstick until it glow. Then weld instantly
Quick tip for people watching TH-cam.... When people use the word secret in a video title. you can almost guarantee the person has very little knowledge on whatever the video is about
If you are burning through it means your welder is turned to high. Use a smaller rod for thin metal if the rod just wants to stick fast. Never weld a bead with tacs (start-stop) when you are stick welding because there is to much risk of contaminating the weld with flux and a sure sign you are a amateur. Also you don’t need a bead that wide for thin metal. Waste of consumables.
it will work as long it is not use for structural for simple items it will be fine as long it is not put under lot of pressure availability of thin rods vary on different regions and country
One of the big advantages of stick is that it is literally just as easy to use the right rod as the wrong one. You might try using a smaller rod.
Thank for sharing useful videos about how to weld thin tube

Great video. Knowing what directions to weld can go a long way!
Amazing work

Your technique is best welder

Well done ! 🤝🤝🤝

I am learning welding. Welding electroc get stick while welding again and again. Is this machine fault or I am doing mistakes? Please help
Intermittent welding seems very widespread on YT. Would a thinner rod, like 1.6 mm be of any help here?

can someone confirm this please?
So, an acute rod angle will transfer less heat to the workpiece, thus, not burning through??

What wire brush material you using?

How much amp did you use, im just a student that is new to welding im using 160amp i dont know if i am doing it right
