As someone who has moved across the world herself I can only tell you that what you thought you wanted/didn't want will change over the course of your time away. I'd go through everything when you get back, except for the things you definitely don't want! So excited for you!
Hey girl, our family just moved from Los Angeles to Nashville. Just a few tips to you about packing for such a long distance move: do NOT underestimate the time it takes to pack! There is so much to be done right before moving day, that the more of the non-essential household stuff you get packed early on, the better! Second, make sure you pack those boxes to the max. Don't skimp on the stuffing and padding, and if you can sit on the box and it bows in or buckles, it's NOT full! You need those boxes to be solid! Best way to prevent damage to your stuff. I hope all goes well for you - making such a change is so hard, but you will learn and grow so much!
Good luck with your new beginnings! So exciting! PS. I would really recommend you to buy a permanent marker and sign each box with a list of things that you pack into it! It will really help when you get back to your stuff and have no idea where the things are!
How cathartic! Nothing better than a fresh start. I’m definitely feeling itchy feet to move. I’ve been raising a family in this home for 20 years and I would love to pack everything up, assess each item, get rid of junk, declutter and organise a new space. Time to downsize. Flowers are such an odd thing to want to pack, why don’t you just buy some over there? You could use Autumn leaves you’ve collected and then some real Christmas holly in December.
One thing that I’ve learned here is to be minimalists so that things will be easy when we want to move out. All the best to u rachel!pls keep updated with your journey !
I moved from Europe to United States and I would recommend you get rid of as much stuff as you can since you're not sure when you're coming back if you are. I was gonna move for 2 years and it's been 7 years living in United States and I do not miss my stuff. Recently I went back home and got rid of all my stuff (some of it was ruin because of I left it too much time in boxes). Good luck with it! I'd like to see more videos of decluttering and how you fit your clothing in three suitcases.

But hearing that even people I admire do that makes me feel less like a failure haha. 3) I love these vlogs! I am so excited for this move and life change!

I am also moving abroad at the end of October and leaving everything behind (and starting a new exciting chapter), so this is very helpful and again perfect timing❤️
Packing/storage locker tip: make sure to check what kind of insurance there is for your stuff, not all storage places will do anything if your stuff gets ruined. Also get some pallets that Bunnings is getting rid of to raise your stuff off the ground. If the locker gets any water damage at least your stuff won't be sitting in it.

Good luck with the move! This video was perfectly timed and I really enjoyed watching as I am doing the exact same thing today. I have been decluttering and saving packaging and bubble wrap for 2 weeks and tomorrow I am moving country. So today things are going into the suitcase. The saddest part is taking down posters and pictures from the wall and selling your TV and seeing your place empty, then you know this is for real. It is sad but also a relief to get rid of clutter and condense my life into 3 suitcases.
you neeeeed to get a good tape dispenser!! Get one of those packing tape hand held dispensers. I've moved probably 5 times in the past two yearsnand cannot rate them enough, absolutely an essential

I am from Montreal and the weather is similar to Toronto. Bring warm clothes because winter can be brutal but what an experience!!! So excited for you!!!!
Exciting! Life is too short you have to be honest with yourself and make choices that feel right. My packing tip is to use your cushions to pad out the boxes and use linen or towels and blankets for large fragile decor otherwise you will use so much bubble wrap which isn’t cheap and environmentally not good. Also number your boxes and use one of your beautiful notebooks to record what’s is in them as you mover know how long it will be before you open them and you will forget 🤔

While you are here in Canada you should definitely go for a drive in Algonquin park the leaves 🍁 are breathtaking in October also don’t worry about bringing fake flowers there are beautiful ones here:)

I didn’t vlog it, I’m still not sure about them, they look a bit much for my liking so I’m hoping they go down a little more 😊 it’s been a good experience other wise, I do love how they look with lipstick though, no more over lining my lips so yay

if youve got things that wont pack/fit in boxes very well, keep your shelves made up and use them as storage in the locker, youll need it!

The reject shop or Kmart sell big rolls of bubble wrap! It’s way better than newspaper to wrap breakable items.
