Thank you for your kind comments, I have travelled widely but I love this island. As a family, you have prospered here because of your positivity and willingness to engage with our culture.
Most definitely, we love learning for you all. Our life would be so dull if we hadn't embraced this wonderful culture! We love being open-minded and love to embrace change for our lives, which will only be enhanced by this experience. Thank you so much for watching and leaving a kind comment. 🤍 Jess x
I'm so glad you enjoy our videos. We definitely try to share positive and uplifting content. This world needs more kindness. So I try and be a light to someone else. Thank you so much for your kindness and support. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
New sub here, what a lovely lady, your words are so kind about Britain, you are very welcome here any time and our Island is all the better having you here❤❤❤
Thank you for your time subscribing to our channel. We appreciate and love all the wonderful insight and support we get from our supporters. We have the best friends ever and are so blessed! Hope you have a lovely week ahead. Happy holidays! Cheers 🤍 Jess & family x
You may have been already but The Swan at Lavenham has a great bar with original signatures of WW2 airmen who served in the area plus memorabilia, it's fascinating. It is genuinely lovely what you say about our little island. The bond that is provided by the fact the US still bases her military here is real and enduring. People from the US who would otherwise never come here get to see our culture, and it is great to hear what you love as often we Brits take these things for granted (we love to play things down don't we!) I hope when you do have to return home you will have the UK in your heart and you will visit often! 😊
Thank you for your recommendation on Pub! We truly appreciate this opening to learn and explore this slice of heaven (as I call it). So, to be able to share our thoughts and lives with you all, thanks to TH-cam! We will continue our channel whenever we have to return to the US. Will take you along for our beautiful (Yoop) as we call it the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I agree that Lamb is growing on me and ranks up there compared to other meats. It's not as normalize as it is here, which I don't understand why. 💯 I will always carry this wonderful place in my heart forever! Thank you for your support. Your time watching and commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
We live in deep Suffolk in an ancient house and love to show it to US visitors. Every 4 years US veterans return to an airbase nearby, they remember having ice cream in our kitchen while they were in service. Awesome ❤
@ratowey we could but own a small holding as it's called here, back in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. When I become rich, 💯 we will have property here to come and stay as often as I wish. This is our second home for sure! Thank you for your comment and for watching the video. Cheers 🤍 Jess
Most definitely love it here! We will continue to share our UK adventures with you all until we have to return to the US. Even when we move back we will continue our videos there as well. Thank you for your support and time watching/ commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Thankyou for your lovely kind words , yes wool was our biggest asset in the 12th century , I live in a fairly rural area in Kent and we have sheep around our local farms all grazing happily . We not a bad bunch are we 😊❤
You all are definitely not a bad bunch at all. We absolutely love you guys! I am gonna have to find a shepherd to learn from! Have learned a little bit about the sheeps wool and all different types of breeds. We are trying to figure out what would be the best breed for our climate when we move back. Thank you for your wonderful comment and for watching the video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Your love for this country is plain to see and you are not the first. I own a lovely little book called 'A Suffolk Summer' which was written by John T Appleby from Arkansas, who was stationed in Suffolk with the US Army Corps between 1942 and 1945. John wrote of his love for Suffolk and left a bequest in his will to Bury St Edmunds Cathedral. The lovely rose garden at the Cathedral is dedicated to his memory.
Thank you that is just fabulous. I will have to look into that book i've never read it. Thank you for the recommendation. We truly appreciate your time watching our video and leaving us this wonderful comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess and Chris
Friendliness differs greatly from rural communities compared to city life. I've recently left London for a coastal community, and I was actually taken aback by complete strangers saying good morning to me. In London people barely look at each other, let alone talk to each other. Different planets culturally.
I completely understand! It's definitely like that in the Big Cities in the US as well. Thank you so much for watching and leaving this wonderful comment for me. Have a great day. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Best place to learn something is the pub ! Its recommended to go "learn" something at least a few times a week, Friday and Saturdays evenings are best times to do some serious "learning" 😉
Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed this video. Thank you so much! Just like most places, when it becomes something you're accustomed to, it can be overlooked, not a bad thing at all. We just love sharing our thoughts and all the words things about this slice of heaven. Thank you for your comment and time watching our channel. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Get a hold of the book Humble by Nature by Kate Humble ( she is/was a TV presenter). Her and her husband lived in London but bought a smallholding in Wales and learned how to keep Sheep, Lambs, Chickens etc. She now runs weekend courses that help others who wish to do this. She also has a recipe book that uses all her farm produce. Enjoyed this vid and glad you like our way of life. Cheers.
I'm so glad you enjoy our videos! Definitely love the way of life here, for sure. will try and find that book. Thank you for that recommendation. We truly appreciate your time watching and leaving a comment! 🤍 Jess & Chris
Hi Jess and of course Chris and family! you are the very best friends anyone could wish for and you are all very appreciative of us all in the UK! I am sure you would bring a smile to any country you guys visit but when you do eventually leave to go back home it will be a very sad loss to us all here in the UK! The vlogs are brilliant and very honest and I respect that! Please keep the vlogs coming and please take care.
Cheers, Tracie! You're so very kind, and we're so thankful for you. Vlogs will continue even when our time in the UK comes to an end. Thankfully, that's not just yet! Thank you for the continued support! 🤍 Jess & Family x
Wonderful recommendation. We will have to check it our our next trip. Thank you for your support and time watching/ commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Glad you are not letting the nasty trolls get you down. Keep up with your videos as they are really interesting. Glad you are coping with the dismal weather we have had this year and our horrible short days over winter. If you are here next summer, do try and get to one or two of the County shows as you will find lots of animal husbandry and things that may interest you for when you have your smallholding the the States (we will look forward to seeing videos of how you're getting on with it when you get home).
Thank you so much for your continued support! It means so much to us. Would love to attend one of those shows we would learn so much. Can't wait to show you our little farm one day. It will be so much fun to take you all along. I will definitely miss being on this slice of heaven for sure! Thank you for the recommendation! Thank you for your time watching and commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Thank you so much for your continued support! It really means so much to us. I will look for that recipe on pinterest. Thank you for watching and leaving this fabulous comment! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
I've really enjoyed your video's, guys. Look forward to watching new ones when you're back in the US. I'd be really interested to see little communities and villages over there and the countryside. Good luck.
Friend, we're not leaving the UK just yet. When the time comes, we will continue our videos back in the US. Thank you so much for your continued support. It means so much to us! 🤍 Jess & family x
Somewhere good to visit would be Jamaica Inn made famous by Daphne de Mauriers novel of the same name. A lot of people visiting the UK think it is just a fictional Inn. IT is located on Bodmin Moor and was built in 1750. Great historical place.
Thank you for the recommendation. We'll have to look into that! We're so grateful for your insight into some wonderful historical places to visit. Thank you for your time watching our video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
If you like old public houses you should visit the Royal Standard of England in Buckinghamshire. There has been an ale house on the site since about the fifth century. It is truly remarkable and the food is fantastic!
We (and I'm in Peterborough) used to have snow here but it's become far less frequent throughout my life, going from every winter to rare. It was never as deep as you described, but it was inches every winter through to the 90s when we began skipping years. Now we have squirrels running around in January and it's not even that cold! Nature is out of sorts.
My landlord talks about the snow often like it was a normal thing. Unfortunately, not anymore. I definitely miss my beautiful snow. Thank you for your support. Your time watching and commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Oh, we truly appreciate you watching, and for leaving, this is a wonderful comment! It means the world to Chris and I to have such wonderful support! Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
Oh friend, we're still in the UK. Having wonderful adventures and sharing our lives with you all. But when we do go back to the US, we will continue our channel. Thank you for your support and time watching/ commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Hey Jess! If you want some insight into keeping sheep on a smallholding in the US, you can hardly do better than get in contact with the Mac and his lovely family who post on 9B4M. They are from the US and currently have a place with extensive grounds in Leicestershire where they keep sheep amongst other animals, and had a small farm in Georgia(?) previously. Like them, you would enjoy the county fairs here too, where you will meet loads of folk with similar interests and great experience!
Fabulous, thank you for the wonderful recommendation! I will definitely check them out. I would love to learn from others. Hope you have the most amazing week! Thank you for your time and support. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn I am sure that Mac will be kindness itself in seeking to help you. He has the most wonderful, calm voice and should do voiceovers, which expresses what he is about! His wife Blair tells us that when she was pregnant with her girls, is they were kicking, Mac would put his hand on her stomach and they would immediately calm down! Dunno if that worked with the boys......;-)
a few lamb recipes to concider, grilled lamb chops. slow cooked neck of lamb stew. roast leg of lamb(minted of course). shoulder of lamb is another great roasting dish. if you let the sheep age a bit you'll get mutton, and mutton stew/cassarole is lovely(not to everyones tastes tho). lambs liver with bacon and onion gravy with mash potatoes and veggies.
Fabulous, thank you so much for the recommendations on the lamb recipes! Sounds all yummy.. Thank you for the continued support! Cheers 🤍 Jess & family x
If you like to read I cannot recommend highly enough two books by Bill Bryson that you should not only enjoy but understand better than most. The first Is 'Notes from a small island' which is about his experiences and culture shocks when first arriving to live in Britain after moving from Iowa in the States. The second is 'Notes from a big country' which is the reverse after he moves back to the States after 20+ years. Both are hilarious and full of interesting little anecdotes as well as lots of historical facts. Notes from a big country goes under a different title in America I believe it is called 'I'm a stranger here myself'
Fantastic, thank you for the book recommendation! I feel that would be a would read. We appreciate your time watching and leaving this wonderful comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Fuel economy: don't forget that an American gallon is sightly smaller than a gallon in the UK (1 gal US = 1.2 gals US) Great video. Thanks for sharing.
With respect to you wondering what sheep farming is like, have you watched the Amazon series, Clarkson's Farm? Both series are excellent and very funny, but in the first one he starts sheep farming for the first time, which is both funny and quite informative for somebody who is thinking of taking it on.
We have watched Clarkson's farm and absolutely loved it. We have visited the farm as well. Unfortunately, when we went it was closed... Definitely on our bucket list to do and enjoy when it's open next. Thank you so much for your comment and support. We appreciate you. Have a lovely day! Cheers 🤍 Jess & family x
Meat recipes are best kept simple just add a sauce. imho Lamb /mint Pork/apple Beef/ horseradish Liver/ onion Duck/ orange or cherry Chicken/ white wine
I love your reaction videos and following yours and Chris's adventures in the UK. So glad that you're all enjoying the experience. Have you heard of the acre of land in Runnymede, near Windsor, that the Queen permanently gifted to the USA. It is now US territory and houses a monument to JF Kennedy. Also, not far from where the Maga Carta was signed back in the day.
Thank you for your continued support! We appreciate your time watching our videos. We love exploring this beautiful island, just a wonderful slice of heaven. Thank you for your recommendation. We have had other recommen it and it's on our list to visit. Appreciate your time watching and leaving us this very kind comment! Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Oh, we will definitely check that out! Thank you for the recommendation and for taking the time to watch & comment on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
Great stuff as usual, thanks Jess. Probably the best lamb I have ever tasted is the Gower salt marsh lamb from S. Wales. I've only ever had it a few times as a treat because it is very expensive but the flavour is outstanding . I've just grabbed a snippet of the lambs diet from their website. This marsh contains a natural abundance of Samphire, Sorrel, Sea lavender and Thrift, not only a tremendous source of nourishment but delicious on its own. Maybe your land back home has something special that sheep will thrive on?
Thank you so much! We're looking to have a holiday in Wales sometime. We will have to see if we can find Salt Marsh Lamb when we go. Thank you for the recommendation! We are definitely researching to ensure that sheep with thrive on our farm. We will also be looking at what type would be best for our families' needs. Thank you so much for your insight and information. Appreciate your time watching and leaving us this insightful comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Oh, most definitely! We will continue our videos here in the UK and even when we have to move back to the US. We love sharing our thoughts and lives with you all. Thank you so much for your continued support! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
I would be surprised if you can get some smaller vehicles with better mpg in the US. If you have a barn to store a vehicle in, you could have a summer vehicle and a more robust vehicle for when there is two foot of snow. If you can get an old style pick up that were around 30 plus years ago. They often have more room in the bed for moving stuff on your small holding, do better miles, easier to repair but do not have all the bells and whistles. If there is two feet of snow on your pastures you will have to keep your sheep inside in the winter. You will have to grow silage, hay etc. You should not promise to answer all the comments.
We're definitely looking at bringing a UK spec car home. Will be a summer car for sure. We have a 3 car garage back in the US, so we have the space. Have started looking into what the sheep will need in our climate to thrive. We will not get them if they suffer at all. We will always do what's best for our animals/ family. I definitely understand that. I will always do my best to read and try to respond when possible. Thank you for your time watching and leaving a comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
If you can - it is more difficult these days, but try out mutton and hogget (older sheep), not as tender as lamb but taste far better cooked long and slow.
Oh, very interesting, we will try. We would also love to try sheeps milk. It's not the easiest thing to find I'm learning. LoL Thank you for your support and time watching/ commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Great video 👍If you purchase a 25 year old or more lefthand drive car petrol or diesel you can import to the USA no problem, excellent mpg and unique car for running errands 😊
💯 that is our plan. Once we find one and plan on taking it back, we will share and take you all along with us for that process. Thank you so much for watching and leaving us a comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris
As you're so open minded regarding your beauty treatments. You can go to a local college. You'll also get to see how the British youth behave. It's completely different, and you'll get your treatments (root tint, highlights, cut, finish, manicure, pedicure and a facial) for under £120.
Gosh I didn’t realise. Even in London, I have only paid around 130-150 GBP for a haircut and colour and I thought that was daylight robbery 😂. Obviously, there are high-end boutiques you can go to that style the hair of the rich and famous, and probably pay five times that amount, but that’s a choice. Now I’m out in the sticks, and pay about 100 GBP all in.
It's outrageous the prices back home. Maybe there are places where you can find it cheaper in the US but not as much as here.. Thank you for your time sharing with us. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Oh, definitely, we will be sharing our adventures on the farm once we return. I'm not sure when that will be possible 2025. We truly appreciate your time watching and leaving a comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
jess our climate is very un usual for our latitude. london is 54 degress north of the equator furthur north than moscow and on the same latitude as top of hudson bay in canada we get mild snow and ice free winters and our ports are ice free all year round the reason why is the hotest and most powerfull ocean current on the plant the gulf stream from the carribean and the gulf of mexico and this tremendous rainfall we have had is when dead hurricans and tropical storms get in the gulf stream and the prevailing winds are from the south west which helps aswell our northern latitude gives britain its long summer daylight hours and its very short winter daylight hours in east anglia there are 9 hours 45 mins more daylight on the longest day of the year 21st june than on the shortest day of the year 21st december
Nice video. You mentioned moving here was hard, but what was your thoughts on the uk before moving here? You could do a Misconceptions video. Obviously shepherds pie is a popular recipe for lamb.
I'm so glad you enjoyed what I love about the UK/ England. I could definitely go on and on about what I love. That is definitely one of our next videos. Because it definitely took it's toll on my mental health. I'm just so thankful that it was definitely worth the struggle, and being here has been a wonderful life experience/ adventure my soul needed. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Well you are family here, and always welcome , I'm glad you felt at home, well second home lol , as for lamb, got to be lamb casserole with dumplings for those cold winter's, good old fashion home cooked comfort foods, which will make you feel, you are back to your second homeland 😊
Fabulous, thank you so much. Yes, this is definitely home away from home, and I love it! I appreciate your recommendation on lamb. Thank you so much for your kindness and your continued support! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Hi Jess, love your videos and the way you have embraced our culture. I just googled the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and was quite shocked when I looked at the average temperatures in the winter in Marquette which is apparently the largest city in UP Michigan. Wow that is cold. Where is the US are you from originally?
Oh, thank you for watching. I'm so glad you're enjoying the channel! I will answer your question on the Q&A video! Thank you for asking. Yes, in michigan gets very cold and there is lots of snow. Thank you so much for the continued support! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
The UK is full of genuine and generous people who only wish to take you and your lovely family to their hearts, and want to make your stay amongst us the most memorable (for all the right reasons) it could ever be. Once you're back in the States, you'll be very much missed by us. Ignore the haters, they're very sad people who really need to take stock of themselves and alter it for the better, instead of spewing out the vile bile that they do towards others. On the subject of sheep, I'm not a sheep person (inasmuch as I'm not any kind of a shepherd, NOT that I don't like sheep), but don't forget, they'll need shearing once a year - I don't know how many sheep shearers there are in America. As a parting shot, did you see the recent story about Fiona, the loneliest sheep in the world? She was rescued after she had been stranded at the bottom of a cliff all by herself for at least a couple of years. Nobody knew she was there until someone who was kayaking saw her.
Oh dear friend! I will definitely miss being here exploring and learning so much for you all. This is definitely my home away from home! If I ever become a millionaire, I would definitely buy a summer home to visit often! 😉 We are definitely doing lots of research on sheep care, especially during the Michigan winter. Sad for poor Fiona! I am so thankful she was found. Thank you. will look that store up. Appreciate your time watching and leaving this wonderful comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
I think Jess and Chris have spent long enough here to know that wherever they sojourn there`ll be a little bit of England there in them, somewhere. Not just England, but the UK.
@@DaydreamersBarn You must, of course, not forget Europe as a whole. I went to the `States from this old world in search of the new - and was glad to find it ( not least on the grounds that I don`t like being in the air, don`t laugh ! ). My next `dare` is to have a dash into the east - perhaps Istanbul / Constantinople ( The City of Constantine the Great - who I think was crowned Holy Roman Emperor in about 330 AD in York - 40 miles away from where I live ). But damn that - I just have to go into the East. God speed and farewell ! x
I've watched and really enjoyed a lot of your videos. Please come back soon, you will be very very welcome any time!! Love to our respectful cousins across the pond.
Oh friend, we're not leaving just yet. We will let you all know when that time comes. We will share the ups and downs when we have to say goodbye to this slice of heaven. It will be a sad day. Thank you for your comment and continued support on the channel! 🤍 Jess x
Morning Jess :) I hope you amazing Sunday ahead and positive week ahead👍 I hope Chris is all ok and positive vibes 👍 amazing vlog as always many thanks for sharing your amazing vlog :) have you consider of doing distance learning home study in Sheep Care and Management there is distance learning vendor who offer the course which is Acs distance education even tho it’s uk vendor who can study with them worldwide 👍some sheep farms in the uk will do 1day or few days of voluntary workshop to gain hands on experience with working with the livestock :) anyway as always I truly look forward to your next future amazing vlogs :)
Oh, that is very interesting. I never thought about doing something like that. Thank you so much for that recommendation. Chris is doing well. He's busy getting our van 💯 for a friend to use it. Thank you for your positive vibes and your continued support! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Thank you for your support! We haven't been but planning a trip very soon. Do you live there? I'm looking at an AirB&B on a farm. 😍 Love exploring this beautiful island. It's such a wonderful slice of heaven for sure. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Lamb definitely has to be my favourite of all the regular & popular meat produce in the UK (Beef, Pork, Chicken, Turkey being the rest). Glad you’re enjoying it. I gather Lamb isn’t in huge demand in the USA going by your chats. Any reason why ? are sheep not suited to most of the USA due to climate and grazing reasons or is it because it’s simply just not been made available to the consumer. If it’s the latter you could definitely find a niche in the market with your farm ambitions when you get home 🤔
I agree that Lamb is growing on me and ranks up there compared to other meats. It's not as normalize as it is here, which I don't understand why. Would love to be able to share it with others so they can appreciate it like we have. I also want to try sheeps milk as well not easy to find I'm learning. Thank you for your support and time watching/ commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
@@DaydreamersBarn How about running a local commercial AD on tv.....BAA BARN BAA RAN 🐑🐑🐑 by the Beach boys as the background music.....ooooh that was either genius or painful, depending on ones sense of humour 😂...... Alternatively you could use BAA BAA o’Reiley by THE WHO 🐑😆.... just kidding ? or an amazing marketing idea ? hope it raised a smile regardless 🤗 best wishes.
Good point, having lived in the States, fuel economy of cars is a biggee ...I suppose when you work it out and how we use cars in a small island v a large country like the US we probably spend less on fuel ⛽️...😉❤️ xx
💯 it's crazy how different it is with the fuel economy here. I love it! Thank you so much for the fantastic support! We truly appreciate you 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Americans are our distant cousins (or on occasion the relative that you invited under duress) 🤣 and talking of sheep, did you visit Wales (where I live) they are absolutely everywhere (often in the middle of the road) 👍
Not yet, but on our list!! Planning a holiday there. We can't wait to explore Wales. Thank you for your support. Your time watching and commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Early days I know Jess, but once you do eventually return to the US, will you come back here for holidays? Because fuel is so costly here Jess, most people look for cars that usually do at least 30 to 35 miles per gallon. But as you've found with your Mini, some cars will do more than that.... And yes Jess, most of us here are a friendly bunch! It's only a small island, so it's better for us all if we get on ok!
Hello friend We will definitely be back for holidays when we have to return to the US. We love it here and all the people. It is just a beautiful slice of heaven. This little island is for sure one of my favorite places.. Thank you for your time watching and leaving us a wonderful comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
I can tell how well you have settled here and I think it’s because you “get us” as a nation of oddballs with our weird and unique “way of life” that only those of us who are born here or have lived here forever understand! 😁 Our fascination with discussing the weather; our propensity for offering someone a cup of tea be it a happy event a sad event, a major disaster … you name it, a cuppa will sort you out; that we greet people with “hello, you all right?” And the answer back is “yes, you all right?” 😄 no further questions asked - that’s it, because you don’t really want to know their health life! and that we have this way of insulting and taking the Mickey out of our best friends and the ones we love the most and if we DON’T like you, you will get just a polite conversation and a fixed smile. We like to queue for things and the queue “law” is strictly followed, anyone who dares to jump the queue or pushes to the front - well………😳😱 they will get the hard stare and the tut tut noise from those waiting in the line! 😁 Once a long stay visitor is able to just accept our daft ways and most likely also adopt them too, they then become “one of us” and will welcomed everywhere. We have over a 1,000 years of doing things that people from other lands find strange and it will never change! So glad and happy you have fitted in so well, now, would you like a cuppa and a piece of cake? 🤣🤣
I love it here and have definitely found my way around and have a deep appreciation for the UK! Thank you so much for your continued support it means so much to us. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
We appreciate that so much! We will definitely continue to explore and learn about this beautiful island while we are here. Thank you so much for your kindness. Thank you for watching our video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Oh, I'm definitely not leaving UK/ England just yet. You all are stuck with me for as long as the military needs my husband. Thank you so much for the kind comment. 🤍 Jess x
Yes, we're aware. We do the calculation ourselves to see what it would be in the US. Thank you for your comment and time watching our video. Cheers Jess & Chris
@claregale9011 That is just wonderful! Because everything is getting so expensive now. To still be able to treat yourself is definitely needed now a days. I'm not looking to spend over $200-300 for a service at all when we have to leave. Makes me sick to my stomach to think about. Thank you for the comment. 🤍 Jess x
Sorry never seen you before . SO happy you like the UK . cant beat the Pubs . The UK is full of very good small farms , Sheep sold in 3 types , Lamb , youngest , Hogett , and Mutton , oldest , Learn how to make Cheese with sheeps milk . mabey make Haggis to get moneys worth from the animal you will put all your love into looking after
I'm so happy you found our channel! We absolutely love it and enjoy exploring and learning. Yes, we definitely need to find a small farm to learn from. Thank you for your kind comment and for your time watching the video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Yes, all the time, and I love it. Because back down south, that's something everyone uses all the time. Used as a term of endearment. Thank you for your time commenting and watching the video. I appreciate it. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Gosh Jess, your cars are gas guzzlers! I get over 60 from my (late wife's) Renault, and about 55 from my Skoda. Mind you, I think Chris fancies himself as a NASCAR driver! A long standing friend of my wife's comes to cut my hair, £9 but I give her £10. Free chat as well! Your talk of returning is becoming more frequent, is it coming soon? Hope not ! x
No kidding, it is ridiculous! Chris would definitely be a NASCAR driver if he could, lol.... That's a no for me. Haha Right, I love the reasonably priced services here! Thank you so much for watching and leaving this wonderful comment, friend! Not that me know of. Just want to be completely transparent that, unfortunately, it will happen. It will be once the military is done with Chris. Because he will retire from the US Air Force in England, how cool is that? Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@freddiemac1438 yes! We will take you all along with us to our farm when we have to leave. So you can see us grow and add a little England to our little farm.
I lived in Germany for 4 years and traveled to a lot of other European countries. I understand where you're coming from, but I still feel England is so laid back that it's fab! I enjoy and appreciate it. Thank you for your time watching and leaving a comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Haha, yes it's a horrible habit by me. I'm working on it.. lol Thanks for the call out.. Appreciate your time commenting and watching our video. 🤍 Jess x
@johnnyhmash thank you for the kindness! I do know it's something I hate that I say, unfortunately. Appreciate you tremendously. Hope you have a fantastic week, head, friend. Cheers 🤍 Jess x

What a lovely lady you are. Hope life is good to you and family.
Cheers, I really appreciate your kindness! The family is doing great. Thank you for checking and your continued support! 🤍 Jess x
We live in deep Suffolk in an ancient house and love to show it to US visitors. Every 4 years US veterans return to an airbase nearby, they remember having ice cream in our kitchen while they were in service. Awesome ❤
Wow, thank you so much for sharing. Love the opportunity to live here. Thank you so much for your kindness and support. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
So glad you like it here. You are such lovely people.
Thank you so much! Appreciate your time watching and for the support! Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Love your positive & uplifting videos Jess, you'll be missed !👍
Thank you! I'm not going anywhere just yet. Can't get rid of me that quickly. Love this place so much. I have to take it all in. LoL..
Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn You could consider staying in the future.
@ratowey we could but own a small holding as it's called here, back in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. When I become rich, 💯 we will have property here to come and stay as often as I wish. This is our second home for sure! Thank you for your comment and for watching the video. Cheers 🤍 Jess
We will miss you! Thank you for your positive outlook and comments on our country 🇬🇧
I agree with you, my friend! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Happy holidays! Thank you for your kindness and support. Cheers 🤍 Jess
Glad you have enjoyed your stay, to date. All these things you have mentioned are mostly take for granted by us Brits. Nice we are reminded of these.
A great old pub to visit is Heydon Earl arms in Norfolk

I've really enjoyed your video's, guys. Look forward to watching new ones when you're back in the US. I'd be really interested to see little communities and villages over there and the countryside. Good luck.

I was born and have lived in an ancient Roman town in the North East of England. I love the amount of history and wonder it gives to me!
It's so fabulous and you're very lucky. Thank you for your comment and time watching. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Truly appreciate your recommendation and insight. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
A lovely video, thankyou. I hope you can extend your time here as l will miss you all. Love and good wishes ❤

Fuel economy: don't forget that an American gallon is sightly smaller than a gallon in the UK (1 gal US = 1.2 gals US)
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
That is correct, but it's still significantly more. Even with that difference. We appreciate your comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Fab. Thanks for your wonderful recommendations!! All sound wonderful. I really appreciate you taking the time. Have a lovely day. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
You need to try Lancashire Hotpot. Or a Lamb roast with thyme & garlic cloves in red wine.
Hope you continue the videos when you get back home.
Wow, that's awesome
Thank you for that wonderful recommendation! I truly appreciate your comment and for watching the video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
I hope that I will be able to hear about your Michigan farm, so a upload or two if you have time. Ha! Perhaps in 2030. Best wishes to you both.
Thank you for your support and time watching/ commenting on this video. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
We are definitely doing lots of research on sheep care, especially during the Michigan winter.
That is no lie! We will carry England/ UK with us everywhere we go in our hearts! Thank you for your comment and support. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
God speed and farewell ! x

Thank you for your support! We haven't been but planning a trip very soon. Do you live there? I'm looking at an AirB&B on a farm. 😍 Love exploring this beautiful island. It's such a wonderful slice of heaven for sure. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
Why don't you check out the former Welsh farmhouse which belonged to King Charles? I understand it can now be hired as a holiday let.

Hello friend
We will definitely be back for holidays when we have to return to the US.
Our fascination with discussing the weather; our propensity for offering someone a cup of tea be it a happy event a sad event, a major disaster … you name it, a cuppa will sort you out; that we greet people with “hello, you all right?” And the answer back is “yes, you all right?” 😄 no further questions asked - that’s it, because you don’t really want to know their health life!
and that we have this way of insulting and taking the Mickey out of our best friends and the ones we love the most and if we DON’T like you, you will get just a polite conversation and a fixed smile.
We like to queue for things and the queue “law” is strictly followed, anyone who dares to jump the queue or pushes to the front - well………😳😱 they will get the hard stare and the tut tut noise from those waiting in the line! 😁
Once a long stay visitor is able to just accept our daft ways and most likely also adopt them too, they then become “one of us” and will welcomed everywhere.
My guess is you and your other half would be welcome back here anytime. It’s easy to welcome nice people.

Fuel Economy, Remember, a British Gallon is 4.546 litres whilst a US Gallon is only 3.785 litres, this probably accounts for most of the difference.
Yes, we're aware. We do the calculation ourselves to see what it would be in the US. Thank you for your comment and time watching our video. Cheers Jess & Chris
$200 for a hair cut etc, bloody hell. In the village i live in its £36.
Right, it's ridiculous! I truly appreciate your comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess x
My local hairdressers it's £26 for wash and cut , and that gone up it was £20
@claregale9011 That is just wonderful! Because everything is getting so expensive now. To still be able to treat yourself is definitely needed now a days. I'm not looking to spend over $200-300 for a service at all when we have to leave. Makes me sick to my stomach to think about. Thank you for the comment. 🤍 Jess x

No kidding, it is ridiculous! Chris would definitely be a NASCAR driver if he could, lol.... That's a no for me. Haha
Right, I love the reasonably priced services here!
