The Aussie recipe has a slight twist. Quite popular over here to use Vegemite as a savoury base. And poached eggs so that we get that delicious runny yolk bursting over the avocado. Oh and a dash of cracked pepper. (For anyone who is not Australian and unaccustomed to eating Vegemite, use it sparingly. It's not to be spread on your toast like peanut butter is.)
Ever since my childhood my parents have made a dish they call pepper pot, I think it’s Indonesian? It’s a rich tomatoey beef stew served with egg noodles, then we add grated egg, cashew nuts, sliced banana and little cubes of apples to it. I think my parents had it in a restaurant in Leicester (uk) in the 1970s and have been making it ever since. It was a regular on our table growing up so I never thought it was strange to add these bits to a dish, but now I’m older it does seem a bit of an odd concoction!
I grate hard boiled eggs in a simple salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomate and green onions. It feels like it's almost meeting and makes the salad very creamy. Delicious ! I will certainly try it on avocado toasts.😋
I grate my hard boiled eggs on top of my herring salad ( made with pickled beets) for my smörgåsbord on Christmas Eve... makes it look prettier.. and if you grate the yolks for deviled eggs you wind up with a more tender fluffy filling for the egg white shells ... try them with horseradish and mustard in the Mayo !

Another little trick I learned from my dad, was to add a little vinegar to the water when you boil eggs, and if they crack, the vinegar will seal it up to stop the white from escaping out. I also use the spoon to remove my egg shell ,which I learned from my dad as well! 🙂
So happy to see you eating and loving marmite! ❤️ gonna try this on my avo toast this morning. Both the egg and the marmite! Love from NZ
Perfect recipe for Easter time of year.
Oh Emmy. You always make me so happy with these videos. You aren’t afraid to love food and share it with the rest of us. 🥰
I enjoy vegemite and avocado toast 😊 also vegemite and tomato!
that toast is unbelievably crunchy, the sound needs to be sampled 😲
I really like mustard with my hard boiled eggs. I bet the mayo, mustard, avocado, egg, on toast would be really good.
Try an egg slicer and spread it like the avocado. Maybe even alternating the slices would be great taste and presentation
I grate hard boiled eggs in a simple salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomate and green onions. It feels like it's almost meeting and makes the salad very creamy. Delicious !
I will certainly try it on avocado toasts.😋
TIL that not everyone does the spoon technique 🙇♀️
I grate my hard boiled eggs on top of my herring salad ( made with pickled beets) for my smörgåsbord on Christmas Eve... makes it look prettier..
and if you grate the yolks for deviled eggs you wind up with a more tender fluffy filling for the egg white shells ... try them with horseradish and mustard in the Mayo !
I have seen this lately a lots and I also call it the tiktoks adore you!! 🥰
This looks absolutely yummy. I am on my first bottle of kewpie mayo and i am absolutely in love. Love marmite too. Never thought to use with avo but i will now
Genuine question, is marmite not well-known in the US? Feels mad considering how popular it is in the UK 🇬🇧
I never would have thought of grating an egg! But it's really similar to how I use a potato ricer when I'm making egg salad
I am a great Marmite fan as well, we also have Bovril which is a beef extract kind of spread, looks and tastes almost like Marmite
Sounds similar to grating Spam. Grated and pan fried Spam is awesome in so many ways. I add a tsp of cilantro and use it in sandwiches with provolone and mustard or in fried rice!
I just happen to have all the ingredients to try this taste test. Roll on tomorrow when I'll be trying them out. I'm really interested in finding out how I will react to Marmite, which I normally use as a drink, liberally laced with black pepper .
Love avocado toast! This looks so good 😍
I acctualy hate hardboiled eggs in big chunks but I can't get enough of the shreded one :) I really love it
Try your avocado toast with browned butter and toasted sesame seeds! It’s mind blowing
My go-to breakfast is light rye toast, Vegemite and avocado! Its quick easy and delicious 😋
