Love a good reading challenge. So far I am doing really good on my 24 books to read in 2024. I am a mood reader so I do allow myself to change my 24 books and if I don't get to them this year I will put them on for next year and telling myself I am not allowed to change them. I think you should read the cheat sheet just because some characters from that book show up in the rule book. You won’t know what’s going on with them when they show up if you haven’t read it. You’ll still enjoy the book and be able to understand it without reading the cheat sheet but if you have read it you’ll get the Easter eggs and enjoy the cameos more.

A book I’m excited to read for July would have to be either divine rivals and ruthless vows or the cheat sheet and the rule book. I’m so excited to read the duology and interconnected stand alone series. They both sound so good!

They are Powerful - Lauren Robert’s, Iron Flame- Rebecca Yarros and Magnolia Parks - Jessa Hastings.
Today I have the Shadowhunters dark artifices triliogy reserved for purchase.
I also have Reckless- Lauren Robert’s on preorder
But I also really want to buy The moon that hatched. Sounds like it would be up my street.

When I was in middle/high school I used to read two books a day lol. My last two reads I have read in a day but that rare for me now. Good luck on this challenge... It sounds fun but difficult.

It will probably be a mix of both! I read wayyyy more physical Books Bc I tend to get through them quicker, but on busy days, I’ll probably throw on an audio book while I’m driving to work/ getting stuff done around the house and finish the physical copy when I have time!

No one cares when bookish creators trash other books or authors, but say something about Lauren Roberts and all the bookish people come to her defense. Her writing is juvenile and average not to mention practically plagiarized!

It’s not that hard to copy two very popular series and throw in a cheezy romance and then get the biggest bookish content creators to get behind it. Because whatever Sara, Hailey, Destiny, etc. say, y’all will too. No one ever defends other authors whose books are picked apart by Booktubers or BookTok’rs, but say something about BookTok Darling Lauren and all y’all lose your minds. Objectively, the book is too similar to Hunger Games & Red Queen and the overall writing is quite juvenile. Hopefully, in the future she will write an actual fantasy that I can enjoy. 😉
And just so you know… Geena and I have had this Back-n-forth about Powerless since she read it… I take every opportunity to give my thoughts on it because I know she enjoyed it 😉
