    The shutdown delay option in the DSP is useful if your system has "turn-off pop". Setting a shutdown delay on the DSP allows the amps to turn off before the DSP and will eliminate (generally speaking) the "pop" you may hear when turning the ignition off.

    Thanks for the great overview. Explained so that even i understood it. I have a bunch of questions, but I'll save them for after I'm caught up on your videos. All save for one, after description.
    Im putting together a system comprised of new and old components. I have a Kenwood Excelon headunit (5v output), chosen for the x overs, eq, and time alignment. It will be running to 4 old school Phoenix Gold amps that are like (100mv-2v input). I didnt realize until recently that the high voltage headunit may be too much for the amps. Ive been out or car audio for the past 30yrs. Back then 1.5-2v preout was the norm unless you had a high dollar line driver.
    I have been looking into modifying the amps. Barevids or EARS mentioned it in a video but i cant find it. I have to replace the caps and service them anyway so id be right there.
    Would a DSP such as this allow me to run the amps unmodified? Or should i just modify the amps or both?
    Thanks for any input you can give on this or a video you can point me to better explaining signal voltage.

    Love your videos, thank you. Without having the dsp to actually test, how do you think this dsp would compare with a Helix .3? I have a Helix in for repair but am debating getting a D4S because most of my equipment is D4S.

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would say this d4s DSP is amazing for the price and for the target audience. It's "basic" in it's functionality, however it has everything that you might need. I assume the BT performance will be quite poor as in all cheap DSPs. 48kHz sample rate is limiting as well compared to Helix 96kHz. Build quality and reliability however should be on par with Helix, as you need to build robust gear for bassheads.

    Good vid, these budget DSP's are getting pretty good.
    so are the 31 bands of PEQ for the input signal(like most budget DSPs), or individually for each output(like minidsp and helix)?
    I just assumed the 31 bands are shared for all channels, but @33:09 it looks possible they might be individual output EQs, which would be pretty cool

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      No. Not many DSPs support direct importing from REW. I believe it's only Helix, Mosconni and Audison from recently.

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      No, it's only 0 or 180. There is no phase slider. However you have all pass filters that you can utilise.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@RAW-CAtI notice the specs on the 8 channel say nothing about phase.
      On the 12 channel it says "Phase and Delay Adjustment: Each channel can be finely tuned for phase (0° to 360°) and delay (up to 20ms, 692 cm, 273 inches)."
      So it seems as if there are definite differences between their two dsps.
